New Nioh 3 demo coming 1/29. Progress carries over. Steam and ps5.

Noice Thats Nice GIF

I'm still not sold on this new open world direction and the samurai/ninja button, but I'll at least get to try it out. Nioh 2 is one of my top games of all time, so we'll see how this one feels.

I hated the last demo, so I'll definitely give this one a shot to see if I still feel the same way. Loved 1 and 2.

It's pretty much open world Nioh 2, which is not a bad thing per say, but, man, their engine is like 30 years behind and I loved Nioh 2.
I wish the graphics were better sure but i dont think it looks terrible. Alot of enemy variety and the player character models look good. Rise of Ronin let you make great characters

Nioh 2 is one of my favorite games of all time

That said, Team Ninja's output over the past few years has been pretty rough. Most of their recent releases run terribly on PC. I haven't tried NG4, though.

NG4 ran fine for me but different engine and Platinum heavily involved.

Wo Long is maybe the worst running game Ive ever experienced. No idea if they ever fixed it.

I am gonna be honest, I loved Nioh 1 and 2 but I have a serious burnout of souls like games. I am not sure if I am gonna play this at launch

I really liked the combat but man the levels get kind of boring and after like 35 hours. I was just ready for it to be over. Then I looked online and found out I was only like half way through. I just dropped it.

Always hated the loot bloat in these games. I will download the demo and will give it a proper chance, but these games are not for me

That's the main issue. I wouldn't dare buy their game at release, lol. I will give them 6 months for patching and evaluate the situation afterwards.

HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 said things will get spicy soon with regards to PlayStation Publishing. I hope he isn't wrong.

The God Slayer, part of the China Hero Project and published by PlayStation Publishing LLC is getting Xbox release Day 1.

Worst case scenario, I will play them on a future Xbox Ally Handheld purchase.

They should port 1 and 2.

Sony isn't publishing and doesn't have a timed exclusive deal either like they did for Nioh 1/2.

Thanks for the correction. At the time, all they said was Sony is helping with publishing, but it's clear now on the store pages that the devs are self publishing.

Guess we shall see how things play out.

Nioh isn't Souls. Its better than that.

Well we can debate wherever is a Souls or not. But its that kind of game where you have to fight very difficult bosses and get better gear. I have hundreds of hours in Both Nioh games and I liked them a lot.

I just want something different

Yea, if it hooks you, it's specifically for the gameplay + the loot grinding. I just loved how deep and broad the gameplay options were, and the sheathing animation. Every game needs to let you sheathe/draw weapons, there's just something satisfying about it.

But I agree to a point, it was a very long game if you weren't hooked by either of those things.

FWIW, I think the first one had an enjoyable enough story and the level design was a little tighter. If your complaint is the length, you might wanna give it a shot, it goes on sale for cheap frequently.

FROM's games shine in different areas.

All I'm saying is if you value deep combat systems and extreme build-crafting potential, Nioh is the game for you. Especially so if you are willing to commit to the grind up to Way Of The Nioh and the true endgame content where understanding the value of mastering the nuances of combat and builds is mandatory.

I love the Souls games, but the truth of the matter is I have way more hours logged in Team Ninja's releases because finishing the campaign in them is basically equivalent to finishing a tutorial. FROM on the other hand have grown increasingly lazy with their NG+ offerings, you may as well start over from scratch with a new char because there is minimal change in itemization, soft-caps devalue over-levelling and no additional systems get added in subsequent cycles.

Which is great for casuals who just want to claim they've "beaten" the game, but if you want to really go balls-deep, it feels kinda disappointing.

Awesome!!
I love the Nioh games. This and Code Vein 2 within the same weeks. Good start to the year for these kind of games!

God i can't wait for this Game, Preorder for the Deluxe Edition is already locked in at CDKeys, just a couple more weeks. Dunno if i bother with the Demo so close to release.

New Nioh 3 demo? I'm there. May consider pre-ordering, depending on how I feel about it.
I just hope the PC port is stable and isn't fucked.

The loot grinding I didn't care about really but yes the gameplay was top notch. So much better than Nioh 1. I was really really impressed by it. It's just after 35 hours of doing the same thing over and over I was kind of wanting it to end. If I was closer to the end I would have done it but only halfway? I had to move on.

Maybe the open world nature of Nioh 3 will keep me engaged better. I wont be trying it for a long time though. I have to much shit on my plate right now. I don't understand how studios aren't shutting down left and right. There is so much to play and I don't feel like there is enough people to buy all these amazing games.

Souls particularly 1 and maybe Elden Ring has great atmospheric exploration.

However barring Sekiro, Nioh is where it is at when it comes to combat.

And from what I've seen Nioh 3 will be mostly a fun time unless you were a heavy Onmyo/Magic user. A bit early to tell though.

Lots of Aerial Combat in Ninja Style is gonna be hype.

So you only play games on xcloud right now?

This is the problem with these games. There's far too much padding. Too many dull stages and a serious lack of enemy variety. The Nioh 2 beta was one of the best things I've played in a long time as it's a small section of some of the best parts of the game. The full game didn't maintain that quality throughout and there was a lot of copy and paste from Nioh 1.

Just not a fan of the endless loop drops with numbers go up, and the segmented levels.

Nioh 3 apparently isn't segmented levels anymore right?

I also didn't like any of the story if you can call it that, and the combat tries to be deep and/or complex but it just comes off as tedious.

Yeah, it's copy pasted Nioh 2 but in a bigger map and some small extra bits here and there. Considering their garbage engine, I'm not sure how well it will handle things in a big map. Dont think this will sway you if you didnt like the loot style, but I'm not a big fan of it either. Combat is snappy and satisfying af tho.
