Ubisoft has cancelled 6 games, including the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Ubisoft has announced that it has cancelled six games currently in development – including its remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – and delayed seven others.

I'm at a point of being glad we are not getting the PoP Remake.

And don't expect anything different from Ubislop because the quote used in the article is this:

"Ubsoft said its focus will be on a "return to exceptional levels of quality on the Open-World Adventure segment" and to "step-change the group's position in the [Games as a Service]-native experiences segment".

Let Ubisoft rot.

Doh! I just bought the lost crown.

I wonder if the definitive edition of The Division 1 is still coming.

It's such a sad state of affairs when you cant even muster the slightest bit of interest in what a company is doing, or isn't, in this case.

This company fell off so much I honestly wouldn't even notice if they shut the doors tomorrow. And I loved most of the Assassin Creed games, especially Black Flag.

After what they pulled with The Crew, good riddance, too.

Cancelling PoP Remake is pretty crazy, just a few days ago a lot of people were legitimately expecting a shadow drop and it was presumed that after the last restart development is progressing well.

Was Rayman one of them?
I'm about to start SW Outlaws on GP. Got it installed and ready to go. It going to be amazeballs right? It's been in so many threads and posts it has to be amazeballs.

The state of the video game industry...🤷
And canceling games that are months or even days away from release is becoming terrifyingly commonplace....

Was Rayman one of them?
Seems the only one we knew about was the PoP remake

This means the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has been cancelled, as well as four unannounced titles including three new IPs and a mobile title. The identity of the sixth game has not been clarified.

They are also delaying 7 games, but they didn't say which ones

Ubisoft also announced it was delaying seven other games, to "ensure enhanced quality benchmarks are fully met". This includes "the unannounced title initially planned for FY26 [ending March 2026], that has been delayed to FY27".

Ubisoft probably generates 80% of their revenue from 3 or 4 games.

They're smart to be pushing all resources on the games that matter.

Bring on Ghost Recon, The Division 3, Assassin's Creed 38, and Beyond Good and Evil. Nothing else matters.

This means Beyond Good and Evil 2 is finally dead as well?

edit: I guess not. From IGN:
"The previously-established Vantage Studios now encompasses the development of Ubisoft's three biggest brands (Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six) and soon the remaining divisions will take on themed groups that cover the company's remaining franchises.

Creative House 2 will be dedicated to shooters, and look after The Division, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell. Creative House 3 will focus on live experiences, including For Honor, The Crew, Riders Republic, Brawlhalla, and Skull & Bones.

Creative House 4 will feature narrative driven and fantasy-orientated series including Anno, Might & Magic, Rayman, Prince of Persia, and Beyond Good & Evil (yes, seemingly Beyond Good & Evil 2 still lives). Finally, Creative House 5 will center on family and casual gaming, including Just Dance, Uno, Hasbro, Idle Miner Tycoon, Ketchapp, Hungry Shark, and Invincible: Guarding the Globe."

Never forget what they've taken from you

:messenger_grinning_sweat:

Believe it or not the recent leaked video was even worse than that.

Schreier is saying the game was pretty much complete but Ubisoft doesn't want to release it, it must be incredibly shit.

A really good POP remake is what Ubisoft needs right now, ironic that they fuck even that up

What are the games that were canceled because link is blocked at work.

UBI needs to restructure. And if they canceled the remake it must be in very bad shape, because you think that was some guaranteed money.

  • Creative House 1 was detailed last year. • Creative House 2 will be dedicated to shooters, and look after The Division, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell.
  • Creative House 3 will focus on live experiences, including For Honor, The Crew, Riders Republic, Brawlhalla, and Skull & Bones.
  • Creative House 4 will feature narrative driven and fantasy-orientated series including Anno, Might & Magic, Rayman, Prince of Persia, and Beyond Good & Evil (yes, seemingly Beyond Good & Evil 2 still lives).

Wait. No way. I gotta see this now. Had no idea there was a leaked video. Wasn't it originally delayed because the entire internet clowned on the poor visuals?
