No Rest for the Wicked |OT| Sleep is for the week

How did it even come to this question.. It's a solo game which now has a co-op option.
It's Friday...

I know this is an old video, but it sold me on the game. I'm always annoyed when games half-ass the coop mode, but here you seem to have gone above and beyond.

Bought the game, will wait for 1.0 to play it though. Can't wait for the full release.

Yup, Free Weekend and -40% Sale starts today as we launch No Rest for the Wicked Together at 7pm CET - Around 5 hours from now!
Free weekend + 40% sale + gigantic coop patch

That's an INSANE push. Good luck!

Man the hype is killing me. I really hope this comes out this year on ps5. Sick of waiting lol

Hows everyones fps in the city? It runs worse for me after the update. Outside im getting around 120+, but in the city it drops hard in some places and even stutters a bit especially at the entrance of the city. Dropping below 60 at some places. Really hope these random fps drops will get ironed out before release

Game is special. Incredible art direction, fantastic animations and cutscenes, amazingly weighty combat etc. I really hope it blows up with the 1.0 release, because it deserves it

Sat down and played an hour. Beat the first boss and stopped at the town. This is really fucking good. Scratches that Souls itch for me to the point I want to stop playing and wait for the full release.

looks like more and more people finding out about the free weekend.
As a forum user, game news/deals junkie and steam user(used it 2 hours ago), I just found out about free weekend. I'm downloading it. Price is pretty good rn, I wonder if the full release will be the same. Is the release date known?

Where does the blacksmith go? He's not at the location he was the first time you meet him.

Nevermind found him.

I'm currently getting my ass kicked on the first boss. I can't imagine how hard this gets later on.

My weapon is so slow and my guy keeps getting tired so fast during this battle. The weapon I'm using is the only decent powered weapon. Everything else I have is weak and the blacksmith doesn't sell anything better.

It playes so much better now. Weapons have way more umpf. And there also seem to be far more of them. And the already very pretty cutscenes look even better.

Cutscenes are cool, gameplay is good but it's too dark, I can't see anything. I found the twin blades after 30 minutes of punching. And I can't find where to go next. Beat all the creatures on the beach, tower basement probably where I should go next, but it's extra dark. Maybe I will find a torch at some point?

I'm not crazy about how long it takes to use health. I'm on the boss fight. I would've finally beat him but in the middle of trying to heal myself I was attacked and died. I'll say that in some areas I thought I could just grab one of the torches on the level but you can't.

I just realized something else pretty shitty. I bought a health item from the blacksmith, and if you use it you can't buy it from him again. This game is hard af.

You can cook meal easily that will heal you and you also get a healing utility rune at the start of the game

Tom Cruise What GIF

Don't you get food from Gordon (The Chef) in town? The blacksmith has maybe one recipe and single pre-made food.

Use your torch in the beginning, and if you're really struggling with close combat try a bow or some magic

You get it at the start of the game. With controller its right trigger + X or square depends on your controller
I honestly never use it. I have so much food and some food even grants buffs.

I started rolling through the game after picking up a magic staff myself.

Tried it with hdr, raised the brightness but it's still too dark. I gave up.
I know what you mean, I had similar thoughts at first (I'm on a QD-OLED monitor). But when I played more it was clear to me that the game is made to ensure darkness is part of its mechanics. Early on, there are pitch-black dungeons you're not meant to explore without a torch or a spell.

Anyway, I'm so hooked on this game... It is giving me that "this game is something special" vibe. I can't stop playing.

Edit: As with most games of this type, I'd advise people against the use of guides. The best thing is figuring out stuff on your own, it's an important part of the experience.

The game is definitely dark in alot of areas. I think they should've allowed us to grab torches that we find in the world. Like a torch just sitting there but we can't grab it.

Played the game with two friends and it's an absolute fucking blast. If they keep this quality throughout the whole game than we are most likely looking at a modern classic, goat etc Just epic all around

Looks like the free weekend worked. Its n1 top seller on steam right now. They should focus on locking down 1.0 content and getting this out this year as soon as they can

I hope they can add text and UI size options. If it was just slightly bigger I could comfortably lay back while playing on my tv.

I started playing yesterday even though I said I was going to wait for early access and while I'm liking the game so far the mouse/keyboard controls feel pretty bad so I might have to hook up my PS5 controller.

Just yesterday we sold 74k copies on Steam alone.

It's bananas.

If you haven't played Wicked yet, now is a good time to jump in, lots of players to play with! :D

This is awesome news! You guys haven't missed yet & I can already tell NRFTW is gonna be an all timer game! My brother and I just started our coop playthrough and put in a good 7 hours yesterday alone :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Yeah highly recommend controller even tho they fixed some mouse and keyboard issues yesterday

Goddamn the combat feels incredible now, even smoother and more responsive. My fps is worse tho. I have big drops in the city, not sure what they did. The optimization is still a long way to go, but man... This game will be so fucking good once its fully out
Performances are pretty good on my end, i only have very rare random slowdowns that last like half a second.

You can use the utility rune to make light.

R2 plus y or triangle.

Can't you just turn up the brightness?

Honestly i never had problems with the game being too dark but i heard this before.

You had it right at the start of the post. The guy mentioned the tower dungeon near the beginning, which will indeed be pitch-black as intended if you don't have a torch or a spell.
