I imagine most people were hoping for a UE5 remake. Maybe running the original code in parallel like Oblivion, that would have been amazing.

Reliable insider John Harker said that The Division 1 would be getting "quality of life updates, native 4K, 60fps and perhaps some engine tweaks here and there" around the game's 10th anniversary in March, so I'd say major enhancements for current-gen consoles are still on the table.
