NateTheHate: Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Will Simultaneously Launch on All Platforms

They already said that....a couple weeks ago
they said a lot of things, they have never confirmed anything

Cool, but hopefully it doesn't look like it's running at 480p on base Ps5 this time.
Otherwise I'll once again buy it when it's on a deep sale.

Real talk for final fantasy vets, is there even one good final fantasy game? I've tried x, x-2 on the vita and 7 remake, Rebirth and 16 on the ps5. I've never been able to finish any of them because the story is not that interesting and the gameplay loop couldn't carry for me.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like this franchise needs to rest for a long time.

FF has mostly sucked for like 20 years. I liked 7 and Rebirth though, they are my favorite modern FF as far as gameplay and presentation goes, but yeah the story is no good.
A lot of fans like the older stuff better, 4, 6, OG 7 and 9 in particular tend to get a lot of love, though you'd have to be ok with dated visuals and some dated mechanics like random encounters.

Stories in FF (and most Square games) mostly went to shit with the introduction of voice acting. Dialogue has never been the strong point of most JRPGs, but it feels 10X worse when you hear it spoken out loud, specially in combination with characters that have looked increasingly more realistic but have kept an "anime" body language.

The funny thing is it actually runs at or slightly above 1080p at all times.

They *really* fucked up the up-scaling there somehow. 1080p doesn't look anywhere near as blurry as Rebirth's Performance mode did on base PS5.

Frankly I'm surprised they didn't try to patch a different up-scaling, different FSR or TAA method into the game since launch. The performance mode looks absolutely terrible.

Yeah I know, that's the most infuriating part of it. It actually runs at a decent resolution but somehow they made it look way worse than even games which run at like 720p with FSR.
I have no idea why they didn't just use FSR (should be compatible with UE4). Hopefully whatever issue was preventing them from using it on Rebirth has been resolved.
I'd even prefer and optional mode with no TAA (like Atomfall) over the insanely blurry image.

Me too, E33 system is a version of FFX but with QTE/Parties in each and every enemy attack and without the depth of the former. FF7 R and Rebirth combat is way, way, way better.

Each combat in Rebirth is delicious and you battle with joy, try new things, materia and weapons system it has a incredible depth. While in E33 early on I wanted to strangle each and every Sandfall developer because the itch in my fingers having to dodge/parry each enemy attack.

Remake and Rebirth's combat shits all over E33's. E33's is shallow parry slop.

That was always the initial no brainer, but Crisis Core already claimed it for the series. It would make more sense, yeah, but would probably cause a lot of confusion now.
I don't know who would really get confused by that. FF7 remakes aren't exactly Madden or Pokemon. I think the folk that are going to want to purchase part 3 of a remake trilogy know what they're buying.

Fuck me, that last sentence alone makes me not want to buy it. A remake trilogy from one game that fucked the story all up.

they made the physical world of FF7 so much more grand and beautiful but ruined it at the same time with those repetitive quests. still excited for part 3.

I think the safest bet is that Part 3 will release Day 1 on PS5, and six months later for PC. Switch and Xbox may get it 9-12 months later. It's not the scenario I want, but it's the one I expect.

What I 100% know is that this is the last FF game that won't be released on every system Day 1. They'll never do exclusives ever again, at least with the current management.

I wouldnt be so sure, this multiplattform strategy was said in 2006, then for PS4 generation there were some exclusive games for PS and Nintendo, and then for PS5 again. And now they want again multiplattform day one etc.

Square wants to release everything on all platforms to sell big in each one, but then numbers always come up and they sell next to nothing in Xbox and relatively few copies on PC, so at some given time they ear again for some free money for exclusivea.

Yes they did. I either heard it or read it. And no, I'm not searching for a link to prove to you. I and others had heard it. Heard on multiple podcasts as well.
No. They didn't.

They have confirmed that Pt.3 will be released for multiple systems, but they never said that it will launch simultaneously for all systems.

I don't disagree, but these companies can be weird about such things.
