I didn't realize that Twilight of the Dead had got as far as being shot with Brad Anderson (The Machinist & Transsiberian) taking the director's chair. It would be great for Romero's story to end on a good note.

I find Wrong Turn 1 very rewachable. Tried to rewatch a couple of the sequels a few times, but always turn them off.

Just watched Ready or Not again. Easily one of my favourites of the last few years. Samantha Weaving looking lovely helps a lot. I don't think it needed a sequel though. It was a very good one-and-done movie. No need to try and expand on it.

I actually think Wrong Turn 2 is the best. They're all kinda low effort trash, but their guilty pleasures I guess.

I do agree that Samara Weaving is a beautiful scream queen. Never seen Ready or Not, but I do think the same could be said for The Babysitter. One and done, let it live as a cult classic. Feel the same for Happy Death Day.

All three main character ANNOYED the shit out of me. They were all super insufferable. The plot was predicatable and I figured out the twist early on.



One of my main issues with the story is that the Kris goes looking for haunted houses to post her adventures on YouTube. She seems really into this stuff, so why is that when she see a painting of Lilith in the house, she's like who is that and instead just google search on her phone right there in front of the painting.

That scene really irks me since Lillith is one of the most common demons that people who are into the supernatural/demonology field know about. And once she finds out through google, all she say is cool I want to explore this house some more and stay here for a couple of nights! I knew there was gonna to be a witch cult at the end and once Lillith was mention, I knew Kris was pregnant since when it comes to demonlogy, Lillith usually goes after pregnant woman.

Than there was the DUFF (Destinated Ugly Fat Friend), it was crazy how weird her face looked, looked like she got injections. It got too distracting for me

The male character was annoying too and I kind of figure that he's the father of Kris unborn kid but doesn't know about her being pregnant



The movie wasn't even scary and the last twenty minutes is when stuff actually starts to happen. The editing on this film was atrocious and there were a lot of camera shaking moment. This movie could have edited out a good 40 to 50 minutes

The humor wasn't funny and what the movie opened with wasn't funny at all. The whole cast was just cringe

I might go against the grain but I think horror direction has made great strides in actually being scary. I do spooktober every year and while I love the classics, the actual quality is few and far between. There is a survivorship bias going on. The avg is a bit higher these days and I think we can thank people like James Wan for his style of build up and pay off which felt so fresh in Insidious. The trends come and go, but the average amount of horror bangers that release every year is pretty high. I'd say we get around 5-8 really good movies every year.

Ten to fifteen years ago, I used to avoid the horror genre due to being super squemish when it comes to gore. But I slowly started to watch gory films more and more until I got desenstized. I remember watching these on the USA network in the mid/late 90s every time Friday the 13th rolled around, that was my first exposure to the films. Imagine my surprise when I watched the unedited versions a few years back and found these movies were full of awesome gratuitous nudity.

I had to rent these films. I don't have a lot of memories of seeing scary stuff on network here. Maybe that wasn't in vogue here at the time.

Sounds like the time I was in the US for work and watched Showgirls on VH1 and it had no nudity. Didn't think it would be possible but they managed. Even digitally painting underwear on the women. (looked like they used MSPaint to do it)

I watched Mother of Flies. Forest setting, witchcraft - a combo I love, but I couldn't get into it. Found it to be rather dull.

Also watched all the Hellraiser films. Best one is the original and the worst has to be Revelations...oh dear. Not sure what they were thinking with that Pinhead. Dreadful.

Hellraiser: Hellworld is worth watching for a very young Henry Caville and Kathryn Winnick. I'm hoping the Hellraiser game they're releasing is close in quality to the original film.

I found the last two Conjuring movies to be some of the weaker efforts in the franchise but they were still good. As for Crooked Man, that does disappoint me, his design was really cool, I wanted to learn more about his backstory

Had an interesting premise with some interesting lore and rituals tied to the notebook. Sydney Sweeny was once again the weak link when it comes to acting and the actress who played the sister was way better. The plot itself was super boring and I didn't like the way it ended.

Not a surprise that I love it, I love his other film When Evil Lurks



The rulesets concerning the creatures were really cool. Where you can see them at certain angles and where they can live in the same space while being in a different dimension. They used that effectly when it came to jump scares especially. The man looking at the creature through the window who is inside another persons house and than suddenly the creature is right in front of his window when he shifts perspective was a good jump scare

The boy drinking from the water hose and than backing away slowly from the house and goes onto the street but than get's run over by a bus

At the beginning the guys wife dying and him finding her "floating" and hit her body against both walls. It's only later when the film explains the ruleset when it comes to the creatures that you realize that the creature was still there but just playing around with that guy's wife body like a cat would play with a mouse before it killed it

When it comes to which movie I prefer, I definitely prefer When Evil Lurks due to the bigger scope of the film but Terrified is fantastic in it's own right

I wonder when his next film will come out

I did like finding out about the creatures evolving to mimic humans. They mimic to hunt humans down. But I wasn't a fan of how they just looked like giant bugs. The human mimicry looked super lame too

It does have Norman Reedus, Josh Brolin (with a weird ass haircut) and that guy who plays Death in Stupidnatural in smaller roles. That was a surprise

Lake Placid: B+

Really liked how the giant crocodile looked and it's was good mix of practical effects and CGI. I loved Oliver Platt character and happy he survived. Bridget Fonda was a total babe too. Betty White feeding the crocodiles was really funny to watch especially when she fed the giant one a cow lol

The film had a fun comedy tone through out the film, it was a great creature feature

28 Years Later The Bone Temple: A+

I enjoyed the first 28 Years Later film but I had my issues with that movie due to the weird artistic choices that Danny Boyle went with. This film was pretty much more serious in tone. Ralph Fiennes character stole the show for me, thia is one of his best roles. He was fantastic in it



I love the twist with the Alpha being cured, I wonder if he's gonna to show up in the third movie

The villains of this movie being a gang called the Jimmys, at first, I didn't find them scary. But as the movie went on and their encounter with that family ending up making them quite terrifying. By the end of the film, I was hoping they all get offed. That last scene where Ralph Fiennes character ended up turning the tables on their leader was pretty satisfying to watch

I loved how it ended with Cillian Murphy showing up. I remember him from 28 Days Later. I wonder how they are gonna to close out the trilogy using him

I would say the only weak thing about the movie is the fact that the main character is somewhat forgetable, you hardly even noticed him. He kept on wearing that mask and I felt every other actor overpowered him when it came to acting that you can't help but notice them more than notice him which I found somewhat funny due to him being the main character



Overall a fantastic movie all around

I remember watching both of these back then. I agree The Relic definitely has terrible lighting. thou I still kinda like the story as a whole. I do feel Mimic is pretty decent overall. I have a deep dislike towards cockroaches, and those things are basically man size roaches. so it made me rather uncomfortable when I first watched it.

Ha. I was the same. After playing the game I was trying to identify anomalies while watching the film. The kid was basically a hint system.
