Edit: I wonder if it's the sleep pills I notice some really bad reactions to them if I take them multiple days in a row especially.

our brains are really fucked up. i used to have really fucked up nightmares and i kept waking up thinking "fuck you brain" and it could almost ruin my mood for the day.

kinda used to it now when i have a really weird ass nightmare but yeah the shit you dream is wild. can't think of any obvious ones now but there have been so many. it's insane what our imagination can come up with.

i've been having really vivid dreams when taking strong pain killers or my current anti depressants.
 
I usually dream when I'm going through a stressful episode in life. It's often fragmented, nonsensical and filled with anxiety.

The kind of shit that makes me believe in simulation theory. How can I see these images if I'm asleep? And etcetera.

In the last couple of weeks I'm often dreaming something sad so that I start crying in-dream and then I wake up to my own sounds of crying in real-life too.
It's like dreaming in 4D. Strange...
 
I've been having recurring stress-dreams of coming home after living abroad.

At every step, something goes wrong. Passport can't be processed, so I don't have a visa to stay but also can't leave. Dream logic puts me at the airport anyway. My gate is miles away, the direction signage makes no sense, and the airport is a maze. Security pulls me aside for no reason. The plane is out of fuel and can't depart, so we wait for days. Once it takes off, we spend a week in-air somehow. We have to make an unexpected landing in another country, and there's no way to my final destination. I never have made it home in the five or so times I've dreamt this in the past couple months.

Got to admit, I've always been shit at making oven baked frozen pizza. Doesnt matter if I follow the directions exactly or fudge the temperature +/- 25 degrees.

I even bought a pizza pan to cook it on. It always comes out two ways. Crust is burnt like sand but the middle is ok. Crust is good, but middle too soggy/undercooked.

Do you guys ever feel loosing touch more and more with people? Not because technology stuff per se, but people doesn't do much effort to maintain a simple bond

I sent one meme to a gym bro this week who also plays volley with me every week or so, then today I noticed that he stopped following me. We are not really friends, but this came out of nowhere... ok then. So I'm kinda noticing that in the past couple years there's like a huge bunch of people that hangout with me, talked and whatnot, and now some even stopped following me on Instagram. I talked with a friend and he also said that this happened with him in some level. I'm a low profile guy, so wasn't stuff that I posted, and in real life I attend the most birthdays I can, so I'm kinda present from time to time.

Maybe is a generation thing? People are just getting tired of other people overall? Was this a thing since the beginning of days?

Sad stuff in any scenario thou

Most people are not your "friends" they are just acquaintances and when you are "friends" it's really just more of the timing and where both of you can benefit from each other at where your lives are. Whether it's just being social and having that 1 "friend" that you play volleyball with or another "friend" that you enjoy going out to dinner/lunch.

Life moves on and so do people. I can count on my 1 hand how many people i still speak with that I've met throughout my life and I am about to turn 36.

It's not about him per se - it's been close to a year that I talk with him, and that was the second thing I ever sent to him - but how he and some others are reacting

I still have a lot of [real] friends now, but of course there's a lot of people that I found that never was and others just got over by time. But like I said, it's just sad when you create a bond with someone and out of nowhere people "gave up". I wonder if people was always like this or this is a thing that is happening in recent times

You know I don't get the hype around Japanese snacks

Sure they're exotic, but that doesn't mean it's gonna be guaranteed good. Like last Saturday I bought these hot chili corn chips, thinking it was gonna be tasty and different, and like . . . It was different, but not in a good way. It was barely spicy and it had a texture of one of those cheap dry cup noodles and the flavor was more sweet than anything, like a tomato.

The only exception to this statement are the KitKat flavors, they make good ones, but everything else is always gonna be a hit or miss
 
If I have ramen I occasionally break off a tiny bit and nibble a few of them raw before putting them in the pan.

Not sure where else to ask but is talking about the mass shooting in Canada by a transgender person allowed? I can't make threads yet but in terms of the future is that type of content allowed, basically hot button current events.

Evilore/mods here seem to go on a case-by case basis. Depending on how much of a hot topic it is and in what direction the subject might steer in. Sometimes it's better to wait for a thread from him as you know that discussion will be allowed and he's good at picking news topics that are important. Of course, the threads might also get locked eventually as the discussions fizzle out or end up in mud-slinging.

In a perfect world there wouldn't need to be such strict restrictions here, but temperature in public discourse has risen to insanely high levels in the last decade, so it makes sense that they got tired of having to ban hot-headed people on what should basically be a fun gaming forum.

i know what you mean. had the same thought too. but on the other hand he's James Cameron and earned the right to do whatever the fuck he wants. I don't mean that in a bad way. Obviously he can do what he wants but I just meant we got Terminator, Aliens, Titanic.

he is obviously passionate about making the Avatar movies and he has the freedom to do whatever he wants. If James Cameron wants to make a movie you just give him the money.

while I don't really like Avatar i think the movies are great just for how far they pushed technology and film making.

Native English speakers must be really patient and tolerant as they are on a daily basis exposed to people to whom it's their second, third or fourth language. Those people mix British English with their honour and the American one with their honor. And then they throw around expressions that aren't used in English, like "making a hen out of a feather".

In my native tongues it's very common that people instantly want to correct spelling mistakes on forums, but it's far from as common with Americans/Brits.
 
i had a dream last night where i was sitting in the passenger seat of my car and was driving it from there. i was somehow using my feet to change the gears (manual car) and turn the steering wheel while sitting on the back seat. i couldn't brake though so was trying to use the engine to brake and go up a hill.

eventually i managed to get the car to stop but a guy, woman, and kid got in the car because they thought i was a taxi. i was still sitting on the back seat and i was trying to talk to them so they wouldn't ask me why i was sitting there. it sounds absolutely bizarre now and i can't really put it into words but the dream made sense at the time. i was trying to talk to them so they wouldn't question me.

i took them to where they wanted to go and was trying to get them to get out the car and leave me alone but they were being so over the top friendly and weird. so we just sat there talking for a long time. they got out the car and kept finding excuses to come back to talk to me. all i wanted was them to fuck off so i could move over into the front seat where i belonged so i could properly drive the car.

I've had dreams where I'm driving the car from the backseat, too. I could hazard a guess as to what it "means", but it's bizarre to A) have that dream and B) run into someone else who has, too.

Only saw the first one. Thought it was junk.

But holistically you can see the appeal as Cameron succeeded in getting tons of targeted audiences agreeing to see it.

- Great sci-fi effects and setting (adults)
- CGI (kids)
- Traditional hero and damsel story (women)
 
It's amazing how you can have the most anxiety-inducing errands to do which make you wake up in the morning with dread. But then you put on just the right song or maybe OST from Zelda and it recontextualizes everything and suddenly you're a strong person going on an exciting adventure.

Whenever I feel like things become too serious or overbearing I try to find the right music to change my mindset.
 
I hate Windows' update policy. Postponed all updates yesterday, boot up my PC today and am greeted with "please wait for updates to complete". Fuck 25H2. I look at the list of new features and the first three listings are "co-pilot, ai supported windows search, accessibility options".

First, I don't care about co-pilot. Second, I'm using "Everything" as search software for years now and its results are instantaneously and faster than Window's search could ever be. Third, I don't have any disabilities and don't care about accessibility options. And the rest is some detail bullshit, like "create new folder" is now integrated in a context menu (I use ctrl+shit+n anyway) or better resize options for icons and the task manager. This is just trivial crap for me. Given MS' record with breaking things I have more to lose than to win with this update.

A less buggy interface (especially in regards to volume mixer) and a more snappier interface and OS experience would be high on my list but MS cares more about their AI bullshit.

I just reinstalled Windows and I hate how I had to jump through hoops just to disable the ai garbage on google search.....
They make it annoying on purpose.
