It sucks that the State of Play is precisely at midnight for my time zone. Not early enough to make me sleep regularly, not late enough to sleep throughout and wake to the news. Don't really give a fuck normally, but it is very likely that we're getting news for my two most anticipated games right now. Thankfully it's just an hour long.

Haven't seen top level PS executives tweet anything about this state of the play the way they were for the 2021 and 2020 showcase events.

Today will be just a random State of Play, not a PlayStation Showcase. Just longer than usual.

Make sure it will feature mostly games we already know, announcement of mostly just ok 3rd party games that will be interesing for some player type but garbage for the rest, and then a few cool announcements, only featuring one or two great surprises.

How many live service games have been cancelled now? 8 out of 12 games?

As far as we know, they cancelled 4 and wll release 14 (plus mobile games) instead of 12. They did help double their first party revenue, and now generate over 40% of it, so very likely starting this year the majority of Sony's first party revenue will be from GaaS.

Initially had a dealine to release them before April 2026 but later removed that deadline because some were going to be released later. So all or almost should be released pretty likely before late 2027 (which pretty likely would match the PS6 release).

These are the ones to be released:

2. Gran Turismo (released)
3. Destiny (released)
4. Firewall (released and discontinued)
5. Helldivers (released)
6. Concord (released and shut down)
7. Midnight Murder Club (released)
8. Marathon (2026)
9. Convallaria (2026)
10. Marvel Tokon (2026)
11. Horizon (apparently 2027)
12. 4loop (apparently 2027)
13. Fairgame$ (apparently 2027)
14. Project gummybears/ (apparently 2027)

These are the ones cancelled:

• TLOU Online
• Sony London new IP
• Deviation new IP
• Bend's new IP

There were a few known or rumored pitches (meaning barely mostly a powerpoint proposal, with maybe some prototype, target video and concept art) that weren't greenlighted, so weren't cancelled because weren't in production so they didn't have anything to cancel:

• Spider-Man multiplayer (confirmed)
• Twisted Metal (confirmed)
• GoW multiplayer game (rumor that includes fake info)
