Avatar: Fire and Ash | Official Trailer

1.23 billion after 4 weeks. Not too shabby! Seems like it will crawl past 1.5 or so, but probably not the 2+B heights of the first 2.

If he can get to 2B he'll bump Spiderman off the list and have 4 of the top 8 spots. INSANE!

The tally is higher than $1.23 billion because last weekend's international box office gross hasn't been reported yet.

Great movie, thought it was better than the second. Definitely one to watch at the cinema for the full 3D experience.

In James Cameron we trust. Never doubt. Hopefully it'll continue to climb towards $2b so we can get part 4.

I liked it better than the second film, and this time I was able to distinguish between the children. But I don't need another Avatar movie. Cameron has nothing new to show and just repeats everything. The ending was almost identical in the already very similar movie everywhere.

"It's one thing to say, 'This was profitable, not massively so, but the property benefits us in other ways, especially theme parks. It's another to say, 'We're going to invest another $500 million twice,' if you're on this downward trajectory. I imagine Disney is doing a lot to put the brakes on budgets – and that may eventually lead to a breaking point. James Cameron makes expensive films."

It's seems to be a big earner, but not in the scale that Avatar might need. $500M budgets demand a lot. I wonder what will happen with the next one if projections are going to be lower. Kinda makes sense from the point of view of it being the fourth movie in a continuation, so fair to say that the audience needs to have watched the previous ones.

Maybe if it's marketed as being something very different it might pull in new people. I personally only watched the first, thought it was a bland story so didn't bother with the following movies. Maybe if the next one is so different and fresh it could pull me back, from what I've seen of the second two, it felt like they were fine if you enjoyed the first.

This movie was a big turd for me. I hated the human Spider charcter and he can't act for shit. The story goes absolutely nowhere, and the same plot points are repeated. Boring, bloated, and unnecessary.

I don't think it has much to do with the movie itself. Cinema is simply loosing its appeal and Cameron is aware of that. During the interviews leading up to 3 he said multiple times that 4+5 are not save bets , which I thought was a crazy thing to say given that 1+2 are in the top 5 of the top grossing films of all time. He's fully aware of the changing landscape. And I don't think it bothers him too much. To me he seemed kinda ready to do something else again.

Sonic 3 grossed more than Sonic 2 which grossed more than Sonic 1. Why cant you admit that with each New Avatar movie more people lose interest. I hope Cameron is done with this and puts out a few more good films before he dies.

Lol you think Avatar is for adults!?
I think it's not a kids movie, like Sonic, Inside Out and others...
What I want to say to you is that most movies doing really well these days ar kids movies because most grown ups simply ditch the cinema in general in favour of streaming. This is known and putting it aside and saying Avatar 3 is shit and people are sick of those movies is dishonest at best.

You're unfortunately right. I absolutely LOVED the first Avatar movie and really liked the second one, but Avatar: Fire & Ash brings nothing new to the table. It's a rehash of the plots/events of the first two movies and when all is said and done nothing has changed in the Avatar universe. It looked magnificent on the big screen in 3D, the CGI is a decade ahead of what other movies showcase, but i was also a waste of time, money and effort.

I've rewatched Avatar and Way of Water multiple times. I won't bother rewatching this one. Big disappointment. I've now had my fill of Avatar.

Everyone who likes this franchise claims it's a spectacle and it has to be seen in the theaters yet each sequel has less people going to watch them. So now everyone is waiting for streaming for this awesome spectacle that has to be seen on the biggest best loudest 4d spunkomatic screen with smel-o-vision and who know what else? You can't have it both ways.

I suspect the data mostly shows the amount of repeat viewings is down over time (Avatar had insane repeat views, I think I saw it 3-4 times back then) but you don't cross a billion without a pretty damned substantial audience turn out. Certainly the novelty of the experience is wearing thin, so hopefully for Avatar 4 they really change up the setting and the story.

Facts!!!

Whoever thought it was a good idea to cast this guy needs a swift kick in the ass, Jesus Christ. I don't recall Spider being too annoying in 2 but he's terrible here. His acting is horrible indeed, pretty much all his scenes are cringe as fuck.

In avatar one she does take the dude to what is essentially their church and then have relations with him in the Navi church. Not really a kid theme.

But they are cartoons like other kid films.
I honestly don't remember anything about the movie. I watched it on Blu-ray when it came out to see what the hype was about. I remember some flying dragons thats about it
