Project Windless Announced | State of Play 2026

Just wondering how they pitched this idea to the higher ups 😂

"So I have this game: there is this giant cock sword fighting hundreds of men at a time in a open field, hey let me go don't throw me out the window this is the 10th floor 😭"

Is like a joke that could be fun the first time you hear it, but get old really quick. I see absolutely zero appeal in playing like a giant chicken lol.

The game looks like a very generic musou by now, except for the big cock.

Kick-fil-ass

Cok-fighter: Dead Dinner

I swear the memes write themselves on this motherfucker.

It looks bananas & I love it!

Looks dope af. Also noticed that they're going to start releasing the books in english, so I'll take a look at those as well. Hoping this one isn't too far off. Year of the cock!

I think I saw a flash of chromatic aberration, and it immediately drew a spark of anger. Don't like that.

I wasn't a fan of that Wukong Monkey design, but okay, that has some ancient folklore behind it. So makes sense. The rabbit, or rather all animals, in FIST were also rather weird. But that bird looks even weirder. This game character might work if they went with some Disney style, eg like Kena. Then a chicken hawk whatever works, but kinda human/realism with that, is just odd to me. Animals, basically just their heads on humans, suited somehow better in Chicken Police Paint it red.

Edit: Tengu? okay, whatever floats their boat then I guess. Does not need to be for me of course.

It's based on a bestselling Korean fantasy novel series that absolutely no one in the west knows about. (I didn't know about it too, I had to go on Wikipedia to find out more). Making a video game based on an IP that's absolutely unknown and then having a chicken-man as the main character is a brave decision. But as I said, that guy is just one of the main characters, maybe he was featured in the trailer because his character is so unique. Or perhaps he IS the main protagonist. Who knows?

BTW The English translation of the first "The Bird That Drinks Tears" novel will come out in June.

The fisrt book was already translated and published in some european countries, it's not absolutely unknown in the west.
Krafton is korean but the led developer for this game is Krafton Montreal, a canadian studio. Let's see how it turns out.
A Global Development Effort
Development of Project Windless is led by KRAFTON Montreal Studio, KRAFTON's AAA development hub in North America, in close collaboration with teams in Pangyo, South Korea. This partnership combines Western AAA development expertise with a strong focus on cultural authenticity and worldbuilding inspired by Korean mythology.

They can just target Asia and treat west as a niche leftover sales
It's already proven that even in SP space east grew big and games build around stuff familiar there can be big even though they look strange for western auditory

Is it Unreal 5? Because then we all know it's going to run like shit, run like more shit on PS5 Pro and have soft blurry image quality.

It looks fully nextgen so there is a good chance of it being ue5.

This is gonna ruffle some feathers but it is a game about a big bird so kinda apt if you ask me 🥲
