Yes! Resident Evil X will be the true next gen Resident Evil experience. I can't wait to see the new saga and don't think it'll feature the old cast anymore. Might be a huge time skip where Bioweapons are legalized in some uses like some cities might use it as a bodyguard or law enforcement etc etc. Should be into the future like 2040 or 2050.

If there is about to be 1 RE per year these next 4 years, that means maybe the DMC/Dragon's Dogma team has been absorbed into one or all of them. I always chalked this up to there being 3 teams.

• Resident Evil 7 (2017) - Team A
• Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019) - Team B
• Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) - Team C (?)
• Resident Evil Village (2021) - Team A (Director was a lead designer on 7)
• Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) - Team B
• Resident Evil Requiem (2026) - Team A (Same director as 7)

Now let's see OP's schedule and make a theoretical scenario:

• Resident Evil CV Remake (2027) - Team B
• Resident Evil 0 Remake (2028) - Team C (?)
• Resident Evil 10 (2029) - Team A

This is a jump from 4 year dev cycles to 3 year dev cycles. That means more manpower is needed. DMC/DD team's ship is missing a captain.

The only thing I can't quite figure out is why the REmake 3 team would take 7+ years to make Zero (or even RE 5 remake). That is the one placement and time lapse that makes no sense. Even when switched with Team B, the dev cycle is longer than usual.

How I would have done it, would have been a re-introduction of the Wesker Saga following the teaser at the end of 4 Remake.

0 Remake, 1 Remake, CV Remake, and then 5 Remake.

To me it's a perfect opportunity to add in the horror elements they removed during production. RE4 remake did a great job (IMO at least) returning some bleakness to the atmosphere even if I still like the original.

What we need is new RE games that exist as episodes as opposed to sequential events.
From there the game can exist largely as a formula applied to different locales:
1. Do to location exactly what RE5 did to Africa
2. Do to location exactly what RE4 did to Spain
Anywhere with a distinct vibe could be RE-ified.
Doing to India exactly what RE4 does to Spain would make a badass game.

Pretty sure devs said RE9 was the last numbered title and all future titles that aren't remakes are just getting standard titles so they can focus more on individual stories that don't need to follow a chronological order or use the current IRL year system for each mainline game.
