Assassin's Creed Shadows if you can access the 40fps version. It gets points deducted for the 60fps mode being rubbish, but otherwise it's the best looking game and probably the biggest scale too.

Otherwise it's HFW, Ratchet, and Jedi Survivor.
AC Shadows, checks all the boxes besides the NPC quality, i play purely on PC, but it barely looks any different on consoles from what ive seen. Avatar and SW Outlaws in 2nd and 3rd place, havent tried the 2024 flight sim yet tho.
Interesting I don't find myself being that impressed with AC shadows although it does do everything I asked for lol.

Is there a video you could point to that shows it in the best possible light?

The second part of the video shows the vistas during each season. Absolutely gorgeous stuff.

Is it a separate app or can I continue from my regular version's save file?
it is a different app, but you can use the same save files. upgrade is only $10 on PC.

If Crimson Deserts console port is even close to the PC footage I think it will comfortably take my title of best all rounder.

Looks pretty good.
Insane Draw distance
Insane number and variety of enemies/npcs on screen
Lots of cool effects particles, weather, and water etc.
Insane even unmatched sense of scale.
You can jump, climb fly in any direction you please.

No wonder people think it's too good to be true lol.

I would take all of that at 30fps😜

Last jedi a beatiful mess??

That fucking turd that killed any residual interest in star wars for millions of people?

Holy shit march cmon, not even tlou2 is that fucking bad...
It's one of the most beautiful looking movies made in the 2010s. Gorgeous cinematography from start to finish. Incredible CGi.

Rian Johnson fucked up the story, especially towards the end with the wifi death, but in terms of visuals, i dont think ive seen a better Star wars/Marvel/DC film.

Batman Vs Superman was also a complete mess, but is probably the best looking DC movie ever made.

Both movies had plots that failed to resonate with the crowd on every level, just like TLOU2.

P.S Snyder updated the director's cut version of BvS with the imax 4:3 aspect ratio of Justice League. Only a few scenes were shot with the IMAX camera like the Batman vs Superman fight, the future apocalypse setpiece, and the opening scene are 4:3 and look absolutely incredible on an OLED screen since the black bars on the side pretty much remain hidden in a dark room leading to a very huge immersive experience.

Yes, Crimson Desert will take the crown until gta6 launches this year or in 2030 after the upcoming apocalypse.

That is indeed impressive. That's a cool channel checking out the other games thanks.

Slimy what's your best all rounder so far? Or better yet give me your top 5!

Which game do you guys think is the best all rounder so far this generation?

I.e. it can't just have pretty rock textures and character models it probably has to have.

Impressive Scale

Interactable Scale e.g can you climb, fly, jump or Swim around the environment or are you stuck walking everywhere.

Lots of NPCS/enemies

Lots of gameplay interactions e.g. getting to kill NPCS!

Impressive Physics

Lots of Impressive animations preferably dynamic.

Impressive effects. Ray tracing, Particles lighting etc.

Anything else you consider important? A game doesn't have to all of the above but most of them!

If any of you cunts say Hellblade 2 I'm gonna lose my shit!

Has to run on Consoles no brute forcing on PC allowed. Although feel free to mention most impressive PC game as well.

Go!
AC shadows has all of the above. Lots of destruction. Great RT effects. Incredible scale especially when it comes to weather and seasons. Lively towns. It's the total package. Wukong and Silent Hill 2 have higher highs but they dont have the destruction, physics, weather variety and NPCs. Avatar would be a close second by your standards.

I consider cinematography to be just as important as ray tracing, mesh shaders, and destruction. In games, we call it art direction, but i think its more than that. You can have a good art style but have a lot of really meh looking areas where it just doesnt come together. AC Shadows is by far the most consistently beautiful game ive ever played. It's quite frankly insane because there are so many day/night/season/weather combinations in their massive open world that they had to get right and they get almost all of them right.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Remake Reveal Potentially Set for April – Rumor

Allegedly set to launch this March before getting delayed to next year, Ubisoft may finally reveal the long-awaited remake this Spring.

Ubisoft will not recover this time if the remake is graphically inferior to Shadows or even Unity for that matter

eh, we will see. i am not expecting much from either ND or Cory at this point.

edit: the remake will be fine. i doubt ubisoft fucks this up. though if its the mirage team handling it then yes there is a chance.

i am more interested in seeing second generation snowdrop games like Far Cry 7, Splinter Cell and Division 3. Let's see if Massive was able to get virtualized geometry in this time around.

Tarsier is back with yet another beautiful game. just as gorgeous and eerie as The Little Nightmares 1 if not more
Nanite seems to be doing its thing, with clever lighting choices and atmospheric storytelling being the highlights. Beautiful rock formations too ;)
another studio deserving of love, praise and support

Started Doom TDA last night, and crikey, it doesn't look too hot. Playing on the Pro, so think the resolution is around 1440p or so?

Tbf I've never thought it looked much good in all the various footage I've watched, but I was still expecting it to shine more actually playing it natively with HDR etc. But it's not great at all. Looks so soft, and so many of the textures are low res and blurry and the assets blocky and "last gen". And did a game like this REALLY need to built around RT?

I dunno, maybe it improves, but based on the first area it's one of the weakest looking Pro games I've played. Actually struggling to think of a worse one tbh... I think Ragnarok was the weakest so far but even that looked better than what I've seen so far of this.

Good thing it's Doom and will no doubt be brilliant to play.

Their games always look great for some reasons.

Their games always look great for some reasons.
the reasons being : great (soft) lighting, great composition, cinematic colour palettes, not shying away from unorthodox creative choices in design and storytelling,
staying true to concept art , etc. all add to the aesthetic aspect and effective visual presentation

They are also good with materials shading.

They always punch above their weight.

The groans when you first switch to Abby's campaign. Everyone fucking hated it. That alone is a massive writing failure but he kept it going for another 12-15 hours.
Very true.
Neil Boychild is a bad writer who only knows how to convey meaning through the most tedious and hamfisted means.

There's "my people" and "their people" and everyone is just trying to survive
For some trying to survive is protecting those around who can't, for others it is killing a teenager trying to make, with stone age equipment, a hypothetical vaccine to a virus that already ruined the world.
Who says? LOL. There are no rules to art or writing.
first thing they say in art school. Then they give you back your tuition since they can't teach you anything, slap an nice diploma on your ass and you go on to become one of the most influential mind of your era.
At least it would happen like that in one of druckmann's glorified fanfics.

Actually there are lots and lots of rules you need to learn so you can, if needed, do without. Emphasize on if needed.
