ByteDance and the Chinese give no fucks, especially since the release is limited to the Chinese market. Hopefully ByteDance doesn't bend if and when it gets a wider release.

My feed is blowing up with this Seedance 2.0 Cruise/Pitt fight video. I think they have reached a breakthrough or something.

I found a short of it but can't do audio right now(so I couldn't actually watch it before I posted it, which isn't a great idea, lol)....actually it probably already posted or someone else can post a better video of it then me but I immediately thought of this thread when I saw this, lol. AI takin over mofos!

Is it possible yet to edit/alter an output without having to re-prompt? That's the only thing keeping me uninterested in all this AI stuff. Way too many variables that I can't control

We're absolutely not there yet, but that's a matter of starting to adapt models into workflows that allow much more control. But these models are producing at a level that was completely unthinkable, i honestly still don't believe seedance is real until i put my hands on it.

Yeah it's a multimodal generative model - it can produce both video and audio. Kling does it too but it's still pretty sloppy compared to what we're seeing with Seedance 2.0.

Okay... it really is getting close to the point where you can make entertaining and convincing concepts with favorite actors as puppets. With China doing this and basically no effective copyright law there, there's no limit.

I still feel that the perfect analogy is the holodeck. Now you can fire up your own creations in a holodeck-like simulation box in the screen, direct and remix and reimagine, then finalize and get something amazing with some effort.

Yeah, most of it is still slop because they aren't trying, but with sufficient effort it is not all slop. You can be truly creative. And you might say "if using a ton of hours of effort, why not just make a movie?" but the cost differential is massive. You can have everything on screen without locations, shooting, anything.

Soon we'll have a "Toy Story moment" where the new tech will be used for an entire feature film, probably made by 1-3 people on a tiny budget, and legitimately good and entertaining. It's just a matter of when.
