I'm not trying to put sony down. they have done everything they can in terms of selling their console, but they had huge competition from xbox since the 360 if xbox was still good competition i think we can expect to see sales more split and you see ps5 taking a much bigger decline in the US at least. it's just a observation that console sales are slowing down.
The consoles are way more expensive today and the economic is in a really bad state. That's expected.
This is the first generation since SNES without a GTA of their own. I'd wait to November to bury the current gen machines.
Whatever it is it'll be one of the more affordable systems out there.

That the thing right GTA6 will save current gen probably but what about ps6? games are taking too long and we will start seeing huge declines that generation, and there won't be a GTA 7 to save it. it's inevitable consoles are gonna start seeing huge declines.
Even if it doesn't come out this year (which we have no indication of) it will eventually come out and will eventually sell PS5's.
With the PS6 Portable, i think Sony is taking the right steps. But looking at the panorama the Switch 2 is going to win the 2026 WW sales.
Looking the data when GTA5 was launched, is not going to be as massive when it comes to move consoles sales as a lot of people want to think.

Later on I pinpointed the problem in the fifth sun. With the four first suns the game would have been an all time classic. Long story short: no.

GTAV released when PS4 was about to be released 2 months later and a PS4 version was released in 2014 so yeah...of course it didn't move much PS3 units lol.
Pokemon, Japan sales, a new 3D Mario, Zelda or whatever other Nintendo game has prepared for this year is going to offset the impact of GTA6 when it comes to WW Switch 2 sales vs PS5. Like i said before, the impact in hardware sales from GTA6 on the PS5 is going to be great but not massive. But will see.

The price said otherwise… The Switch 2 is selling for 449 and 499 the Switch 1 is more expensive this year compared to last year by a big margin and no discounts. 3DS and 2DS by that time was selling at 119.99 and 89.99. There's not comparison.
GTA VI Definitive Edition on PS6 will save that gen.

GTA6 next gen is more important for Sony than the current gen when it comes to hardware sales at this point. And for the Software revenue is a gold mine for this gen.
