Nacon files for insolvency

In a video game sector marked by long investment cycles and significant transformations, on 20
February 2026, Nacon announced that the situation of its majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive,
which, following an unexpected and late refusal by its banking pool, was unable to make the partial
repayment of its bond loan to its bondholders, was significantly affecting its own operations.

The Company indicated on this occasion that its liquidity situation required the rapid implementation
of a financial restructuring with its creditors in order to ensure the continuity of its operations, and
that it was considering procedures intended to facilitate the restructuring of its debt under the
supervision of the Court

And what a generation.

damn, so the servers for WRC Gen will possibly stay offline which means platinum stays impossible. Would have been a major grind anyway for the final offline one, but I guess now I forget that as a whole.

It was mostly due to Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown being a failure, it also doesn't help that most of their releases last year were flops too.

I think I only played Robocop and one of the Styx games, from this publisher.
I hope that the studios can find other publisher that can support them.

I bought a Nacon published games last week... Gear.Club Unlimited 3 for Switch 2... on cart based on a misleading ad on Amazon which did not show the white Game Key Card banner at the bottom of the front cover. :messenger_angry:

Besides being annoyed at that as a physical games collector - I did get a partial refund from Amazon though - I thought the game itself was extremely mediocre with tragically unstable 30 fps quality and 60 fps performance modes (no VRR support when played docked on TVs!) and very average visuals and audio. My advice to any Switch 2 looking at buying this game is DON'T BOTHER. Get the far superior GRID Legends instead which is also cheaper.

I've loved what they've done, especially as a AA studio with a limited budget. Robocop was fantastic, and I was looking forward to their next Terminator game. I hope they pull through.

Does the developer of Robocop belong to Nacon? If Nacon was "only" publishing it, I bet the developer can jump to Devolver or Saber Interactive.

You're correct, the dev is Teyon, so I'd hope they could carry it elsewhere. Which makes me more hopeful, haha. They've done great jobs lately. But Terminator Survivors will surely be dead as Nacon was developing. :(

Hope they can pull through this. I enjoy their games, especially in the racing department, even if they aren't always the most polished.

It sounds like it's just restructuring, so hopefully they're able to right the ship. I'm curious what caused the "unexpected" refusal on their loan. It doesn't sound like their operations are just shitting the bed or anything like that, but who knows.

Nacon is a shitty company and they've proven this on multiple occasions, like with that they've done to Test Drive Unlimited or how the whole clusterfuck about the rights to The Sinking City unfolded. Sure, they have some very cool IP's in their publishing portfolio which will now be in trouble (like Hell Is Us, Robocop, WRC or upcoming Endurance Motorsport Series), but they deserved that some bad karma would eventually catch up.

Wasn't The Sinking City situation resolved in Frogwares favor? There is only one SC available on Steam and its published and developed by Frogwares.

Yes. Frogwares managed to acquire the Sinking City IP from Nacon and self publish it. But it took a few years and most likely a lot of money, since Nacon refused to pay neither for milestones or royalties to Frogwares. I think the case was settled in court.

Man, there is nothing but bad news in the game industry. It's crazy
Shame that devs that can actually do some good like Nacon and helps publishes fun games like Robocop and Warhammer: Chaosbane gets the boot while activist parasites that makes garbage like 1348 and South of Midnight is free to shit out their worthless garbage.

but robocop

they announce this days after announcing this

but robocop
is a good game.

Anyway I'm pretty sure that Teyon studio will be among the ones to find an alternative publisher for their next project. Kylotonn and their racing games is where I'm worried, the future of WRC and that endurance racing game is very uncertain.

I bought their pro controller for Xbox Series X, I quite like it. Never knew they were a dick company, but I guess that is par the course nowadays.

Teyon Studios have been around for quite a while, and in the past they have been mostly seen as a shovel ware developer. They have been finding their grove since... that shitty Rambo game in 2014, with retro movie tie-ins. Terminator: resistance was a flawed yet interesting idea. They really hit something with RoboCop: Rogue City. I think this studio will continue on, given that they are a private company.

I'm really not that familiar with Nacon as a publisher. I didn't know they published the WCR games. Surprised that they were the publishers of Cannon Spike on the Dreamcast... Probably just the EU publisher? They published a lot of things that I am unfamiliar with, outside of Robocop.
