[Delayed Input] Phil Spencer's Maximum Stealth Retirement

The past couple of days I have read terms like "incredible legacy" and similar platitudes. I find that interesting for a brand and platform that has massively regressed over the past decade and if anything made the so called competition in the market more appealing than they already are.

I would expect the likes of Shigeru Miyamoto to have that kind of incredible legacy tribute, not Phil Spencer.

Asha Sharma three commitments in a nutshell:

"no one knows what it means but it's provocative, gets the people going"
Yep he basically nailed it.

Just can't really watch the guy, don't find him funny, liked him much better when he was with EA
The thing that I continually go back to him for is the insight. He tends to have a really good knack on how to unpack the PR or investor relations nonsense we get from companies on the daily.

Editor: How much gay do you want to look in the thumbnail?

Kyle: YES.
Gay or French?

Wearing a scarf with a short sleeve shirt.....interesting choice
I went to get an eye exam today. During checkout for payment the guy processing my payment seemed normal albeit possibly gay, then I saw under the desk he's wearing women's shoes.

I really love Kyle, but why did he have to be a bluesky type of guy :( he is always so cynical and his understanding of the industry feels very in-depth, so I cannot understand how his brain went with the whole Bluesky, Resettera, "I don't buy Harry Potter games anymore" mentality - anyways I still watch all of his videos and this is rarely an issue, but when it comes up its really bothering and people do bring it up on the youtube comments but of course it will be not acknowledged

Living in CA and his extremely liberal Easy Allies fanbase is likely the culprit.

Does it really need to bother you so much?

It's just opinions. You have yours, he has his. Not everyone is going to agree with each other all the time.

if it bothered me that much, I wouldn't be saying that I watch every one of his videos. I am saying that when this topic comes up (and I said rarely) its bothering. If the question is, why would it bother me someone has a different opinion than me, answer might be human nature and/or that the reason I listen to him is because I like his opinions that are generally reasonable, but then to destroy/delete harry potter games comes up as non-sensical to me and out of character from him.

People are full of shit. No surprises there.

Remember when Bonnie Ross was inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame back in 2018? Her contributions include:
  1. Ruining Halo
Now, to be fair, she actually had more producer-esque roles on other Microsoft gaming titles before taking over Halo, but... Hall of Fame? Bonnie Ross? Really? Really?

But you did say that it "really" bothered you, so I believed you when you said that.

From the wording of your original post, it sounds like you are taking that one opinion of his that you disagree with, and because of that one thing, he's now labeled in your brain as belonging to some other group that has its own baggage and now that label and all its baggage is associated with Kyle even though the only thing linking it is that one opinion out of ninety nine others that you disagree with him on. You're disproportionately focusing on one aspect that doesn't even come up very often and it's bothering your brain more than it should. In his worldview, it makes sense. In your worldview, it does not. Maybe he'll elaborate on it someday, but I don't blame him if he doesn't.

Hell, from my point of view, it doesn't seem non-sensical or out of character for him at all. But it's not like I have any special access to his brain. Am I right? Are you right? I don't know and I don't care. Kyle's content is generally informative, insightful, and interesting overall. That's enough.
