Resident Evil 1 Remake in development

Resident evil zero remake should be "reimagined" to be about the Stars members that died in the first game. I believe this is what Yoshiki Okamoto wanted originally.

They can't Remake 5 anyways because it would be 'too racist' for this day and age
It was deemed too racist then.

Game set in Africa, but many of the zombies (not even all) were black. And only half of the people fighting them were black. Oh no. And also none of the zombies had on LGBTQ rainbow flags.

That was not a remaster. Unless you're talking about the remaster of the Remake..?

I'm not one to call a game that plays the same a remake. Demon's Souls was also a remaster. I call reimagining's remakes and coats of paint with a couple different enemies essentially remasters. Like REmake 2 played totally differently to RE2. That's a Remake. RE1 with over the shoulder cam, different enemy physics, different puzzles, etc would be a Remake.

There was also the thing about the virus making them return to a tribal state. It's like saying that originary people are the equivalent of animals or something inferior to humans. That part was totally tone deaf and there is no way to deny it.

I was just telling my friend the other day while playing re9, that I really want a re1 remake in true 3d.
I've always dreamed of playing that game in ACTUAL 3d instead of pre-rendered backgrounds.

What? I didn't get that impression from the game at all.

What? Remaster typically implies utilizing original assets, pre existing but effectively improving fidelity. That's not what happened there. Not to mention new mechanics, areas, enemies, etc. It's definitely a Remake.

It's ok if you want to view it however you do though, it's a blurry line in the end with a medium like this.

I think it's brilliant. Leaving a legendary franchise on the PS1/GameCube is losing a legacy. They've been excellent ways to replay the games. This comes from someone who's played them since their original release. The one game missing from the lineup is the original. I see people post their collection and it always starts with 2. I loved the REmake too, but you are capturing so much more with the RE Engine. RE4 was ported to how many consoles? It makes sense. Plus people who wouldn't normally go back and play the REmake will have all the bells and whistles that made the newer games good.

I don't see the hate. Better have this than years of attempts at it. Requiem would be my answer to people complaining about too many remakes but they probably beat it multiple times by now.

I just want Code: Veronica. Why is this so hard??
They're still unsure how to display Claires big ass subtly.

Yeah I see this argument the same as I see the argument that a game is an RPG or not. Like you said it's a blurry line and I can see several viewpoints. If resident Evil 2 got the same treatment I would call that a remaster as well. what we got was an actual remake which is awesome.

I think the RE1 remake remaster still looks beautiful, but even I'll admit that RE5 could use a remake. That game is ugly and the AI and the animations are janky as hell, but it's super fun to co-op. So if they got rid of all of those rough edges so that people could experience how fun it is more easily, that'd be awesome. You know, assuming they don't change anything else of course.

after RE9, this need to have 3 player style,

-Fixed camera
-over the shoulder 3rd person camera
-first person camera

same with code veronica

if implemented correctly, the camera should be dictated by the situation or scene, with maybe an option screen override, for people that think they know better than the developers

Won't happen, because fixed camera needs a whole seperate gameplay programming. They won't put that much effort. They are already recycling bunch of shit for their newer games.

Tormented Souls 1 and 2 are also really good fixed camera Resident Evil style games. Not high budget, but I like how they look.

Not really interested since it's going to have the shitty modern versions of Chris and Jill and will probably recon more connections to the awful new story developments they're pushing.

What happens when Capcom runs out of resident evil games to remake?
They'll never run out, after they're done with all the mainline remakes and the remake of the RE1 Remake. They could do remakes of Outbreak.

And then they'll just introduce brand new RE game by default and spinoffs from that point on.

Resident Evil is one of the biggest and most liked franchises out there and also Capcom's flagship so it'll never be abandoned.

I really hope this is true. Resident Evil 1 with Re Engine graphics and gunplay sounds like a dream come true.
Can't go wrong with RE1 cause it'll always be a masterpiece due to the way it's set up. It was a legendary game with the original, was a legendary game with the gamecube remake, and would still be a legendary game on the upcoming re engine remake. I also am looking forward to it a lot with the better gunplay being able to move and shoot and over the shoulder. Plus other advance improvements like Hunters and zombies actually moving across rooms to chase you.

And then my business mind tells me they should release Director's Cut Editions of RE2, RE3 and RE4 adding all the content people were disappointed that they (especially RE3) lacked

Resident Evil Code Veronica is my favourite RE game to date. I loved that game on Dreamcast and have found memories of playing through it on a PC monitor using VGA where it looked stunning for its time.

Was always a bit annoyed that Resident Evil Code Veronica was never released on PC but if the rumoured remake is anything like the stunning 2, 3 and 4 remakes then I can't wait.

I think CV is a damn good game as well.

I just hate Steve man. I can't stand that idiotic guy

It was already remade tho, I honestly kinda don't want a RE1 remake in the same style as these recent remakes.
The game just works better as a top down game imo.

Also RE9 proved that they don't have to rely on remakes.

Nostalgia is cool and all, but I honestly wish Capcom would make more new stuff.,
I personally loved Kunitsu-Gami and Pragmata at least looks ...different... so far. I honestly don`t want to run through the same games anymore, no matter how shiny they make the visuals.

I'll definitely take an RE1 remake remake. But to be honest the remake that came out in the early 2000's was very good and has aged incredibly well.

I'm more interested in the Code: Veronica remake. I've loved the majority of RE games, however I've tried Veronica a couple of times and it has some flaws that personally make it not enjoyable…at all. Would love to see what they can do by revisiting.

Code Veronica can hardlock the player in multiple instances... a remake is the only way to fix the game.
