The division was a solid third person post civilization shooter I just don't know where they lost me, I remember getting a super powerful LMG and just blowing through the main story and side missions,

proud to have played it, loved the city with its destroyed blocks, and loot.

*Please* tell me that's hinting at zombie DLC, I said years ago that zombies would work so beautifully within Division 2's playground, fingers crossed, would bring me back to the game for sure.

Either way this is one of the best TPS' ever made, I went back to it again around Christmas time, still feels so damn good to play.

Did you play the warlord's of New York and Brooklyn DLC's? They're very good.

Division 2's new Realism Mode made me fall in love with this game again. They are definitely beta testing features for Division 3.
Difficulty is just right. No Skills or Rare loot. Just normal guns and mods with slightly difficult handling. Ammo is tight.

Oh and absolutely no HUD whatsoever. No minimap, Nothing.

I've tried to get into this a few times, but it never grabs me. Which is fairly strange considering I loved the first. Maybe I'd just had my fill.

Is this the same campaign, but with these gameplay changes? Playable with just the base game or requires DLCs?
Haven't played the game since launch, but I'd be willing to give this a shot.

The new mode is just for Warlords of the new york expansion map. On game's welcome screen it asks you to create a new character in the new mode and you start with zero.

and they have overhauled some graphics also.

Ok, might be worth a grab, except the expansion is €29,99 now and not on a sale. I'll wait for €9.99 and hope the realism mode stay in permanently

If I buy this on Steam I imagine all my progress/account from the Uplay will simply carry over? I own the Warlords of New York expansion, will I have to rebuy that on Steam as well?

Damn Ubi played this right. If you own the Division 2, the WONY expansion is free for all users till the Realism Mode is active, which is around till 2nd of April.

I believe it does. There is cross platform progression because Steam version boots UbiConnect anyway.
Cross-platform content sharing in The Division 2

In the days leading up to Ubisoft's recent celebration of The Division as a ten-year-old franchise, the player count sat at around 3,500 on Steam. In the last 24 hours, the game hit 18,393 concurrent users, a new all-time high.

That's a marked increase of more than 400% in just a few days, and it's nothing if not indicative of the excitement fans have for The Division 2's 2026 roadmap.
The Division 2 has never gained too much traction on Steam, but that's mostly because the lion's share of PC traffic sits within Ubisoft's own storefront and launcher. It has been more than three years since the 2019 MMO-based tactical shooter hit Valve's platform, and in that time, the highest peak it ever reached was 14,000 players, for a brief period.

But yesterday, The Division 2 rocketed to 18,393 concurrent players.

It's not just on Steam where the numbers are flying, though. In the last couple of days, The Division 2 has stormed up the Twitch charts, hitting heights that the game hadn't previously touched since 2021. More than 37,000 viewers were tuned into The Division 2 content at the same time, just to see Ubisoft divulge the roadmap.

While that event caused the surge, the numbers have remained better after the reveal. The game was sitting at around 4,500 viewers at the time of writing, which isn't bad, considering last year, it was rarely able to push out of the three-digit-viewer mark.

Still play Division 2 all the time. So cool they are still supporting. Super fun and looking forward to cross play.

Division 2 broke its peak CCU record since its release on Steam 3 years ago. (originally on Uplay). Division 3 seems to be in fine hands.
