I played the first one a bit and the third entry is much different. It looks like they've gone above and beyond in every aspect and it's a spin-off turned into a matured epic story
Hell yeah it is! I can't wait to spend more time with it this weekend. I'm super intrigued by this complex JRPG combat system. Story seems excellent, so far!

Nice OT! The game is really gorgeous imo. It's so much fun collecting eggs and rehabilitating them. I did crash once turning in the very first bnahabra quest. So now I just make sure I save every chance I get. Autosave is a the real MVP but now that I've crashed once I def compulsively safe. There are some really strong freakin' monsters in the first area. I'm level 20 and they are still one-shotting me. Guess I'll have to come back for some of the ones off the beaten path later.

It's a pretty game, and I wouldn't mind if the next Monster Hunter looks like this one.

I'd honestly love to see more games with this art style. It straight up looks like I'm watching an anime during cutscenes!
The attack animations during battles are incredible.

I know some people on Steam are getting crashes, but I'm very impressed with the performance. It runs so crazy smooth on my PC.
I was concerned about stuttering, but so far so good over here.

I bought it for my PS5 Pro. I haven't fired the game up yet, waiting for PSSR 2 to debut, lol. It's stupid, but the game isn't going anywhere and I'm in the midst of Monster Hunter Wilds right now (which also needs PSSR 2 pronto).

lol I did the same with Switch 1 games waiting for the Switch 2 upgrade. PSSR 2 is going to be such a game changer dude.

I finished everything I wanted to do in Wilds and hunted 10* Gogmazios and only free challenge quest for AT Arkveld left and then waiting for info on the expansion this summer.
Now I can give my full attention to MHStories 3…..I will everything if Stories 3 get its expansion like mainline games do.

I jumped in late to the party, only HR148 so far. I completed 10* AT Arkveld several times before even trying Omega, lol. I am doing stuff completely out of order.
Anyways, the moment PSSR 2 debuts, MHS3 will be getting my full attention for awhile, it's priority 1 on the queue.

Well, I lied. Couldn't resist, ended up playing anyways. Started from scratch for the hell of it, game's fun enough that I don't mind.
You can jump straight in and be fine. There will likely be references further into the game, but probably inconsequential. These are intended to be stand-alone experiences.

Wanted this for switch 2, but the price tag turned me off. Got it for 38 euros on a keysite for Steam deck, and the game is honestly amazing.
They went above and beyond compared to the second game and with the fsr 4 mod and deckt framegen the game runs better than it has any right to. The RE engine is goated.

Played a bit more today and the combat is starting to make a bit more sense! Still a little overwhelmed, but it's so much fun to play

Okay so I'm in the second area. I'm really enjoying the game, figuring out habitats and stuff.
Uh is it me or are most of the habitat guardian monsters really fucking rough? I'm level 34 and wearing the best armor I can make at like 60 defense and some of these feral dudes are hitting me for HUNDREDS of damage? I only have like 200 health! It feels like a ton of monsters get AOE attacks that will just one shot my whole party and I'm getting frustrated.
I feel like there's a key detail I'm missing to make this all manageable.
I don't remember struggling like this in the first two. Hep.

Hahahaha thank you my brother! Game is REAL fun and the demo couldn't have been any more fitting because of those insane monsters (brachy, espenas etc) that were supposed to be unkillable

How do I get the monster attack types to appear next to the stylized icon of the monster in battle. It looks like there is an empty spot for it but It's never filled in. Am I supposed to remember their attack type from reading the Monsterpedia??
