What is Nintendo's big 2026 game?

Super Mario Bros. 3 Classic Edition ($100) with a Special Amiibo ($240), sold also as a pack-in bundle with a Special Edition Switch 2 ($900).

I dont think it will be a massive one i thonk it will be a ywar where there are a few of the smaller IP series representing. Fire emblem, Yoshi already confirmed then maybe: zelda remaster, paper mario and splatoon raiders towards the end of the year

IMO, Realistically you are looking at:

First Half the year:

Pokopia
Fire Emblem
007
FFVII part 1&2
RE9
Pokemon Rom port: Fire Red & Leaf Green

Second Half the Year:

DuskBloods

Holiday game Either: 3d Mario, LM4, or *new* Zelda

Pokemon rom port: Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald

Additionally: Probably two NS2 editions. (Xeno 2?, Switch Sports?, LM3, Metroid Dread?, Smash?, Ring Fit?)

Wii NSO

COD

GTA VI

College Football

Stage Tour (Guitar Hero game)

Edit: FFXIV

Donkey Kong Bananza Ultimate Edition and a DLC for Mario Kart

Nintendo is a small company and this is a risky business.

And we are waiting for Trump to refund us.

Please understand.

Given that Pokémon is not coming till next year, what big game do they have lined up for this year?

but I just want Metroid Prime 2 and 3 and Wind Waker Twilight Princess

The Switch 2 is printing money, yet the future of the platform has never felt more uncertain. It's peak Nintendo. Every time you point out the drought or the lack of a roadmap, people try to hand-wave it away, but the anxiety is clearly there. It's nearly mid-2026 and we're basically flying blind. The radio silence on the first-party lineup is reaching surreal levels at this point.

So? The thread is about Nintendo's big game for the year and Tomodachi Life will safely outsell the majority of games people here expect to be big.
You are right. I misread it as Switch 2's big holiday game.

I am curious as to how well Tomodachi Life sells.

Will it bring back the Animal Crossing casuals from 2020? With everything going on in the world today?

Will it sell 5 million units in 2026? 10 million lifetime? Lots of questions!

The original TL outsold Luigi's Mansion 2, then 3 went out to sell over 14 million copies. TL in 2026 definitely benefits from the Animal Crossing audience and the game is frankly a shitpost in motion, which is also huge these days. If it's decent, I fully expect it to eventually break the 20 million barrier.
