Pearl abyss are blocking people for asking them to show base ps5 footage of crimson desert.

Will powers is the marketing director at pearl abyss and is acting like a complete buffoon. Keeps ignoring and sidestepping the question when asked about it.


Btw pearl abyss sent a ps5 pro to digital foundry with the game already installed so that digital foundry couldn't look at the base ps5 version of the game!!!! LYING ASSES!

PS5 pro is not a huge leap over PS5 so it will be just fine. If you are concerned, how about wait until release and buy it a few hours later when footage is out?

Pearl abyss are creating drama by not showing the ps5 version. They've been happy to show off the game nonstop except that 1 version of the game. They're hiding something.

Exactly, why so much drama? No excuses for that soyboy-sounding guy, but why not just wait? What is the correct diagnosis for people that feel like they have to preorder?

How about releasing the PS5 footage to dismantle all the dramas? Why is it player's response to wait and deal with this nonsense?
 
I don't think it's going to be FF7 Rebirth bad in terms of image quality, but it's not going to look like the promotional footage.

Their ray-tracing method without ray-regeneration from Nvidia/AMD already makes big compromises to stay performant. I'd just avoid doing the pre-order until its tested by streamers.
 
They are probably getting spammed and want to finish their game. If the base PlayStation on Xbox version need the work then let them have the time to do it even if they have to wait till the game comes out. We have seen previews of other stuff and it at least running on the pro but I'm not giving them a complete pass it's just that they are developing a pretty anticipated game that I think clearly some people seem to want to fail my others are getting on my curious but the forums have become genuinely more annoying people worrying about player counts and these trends aren't really healthy. Not a fan of it

This, it's literally his fucking job. It's what he signed up for. If he doesn't want to market the game in a positive light by avoiding legitimate questions about other versions of the game, he shouldn't be in the role.
 
The PR surrounding the console performance has been debacle.

They've only showed PC and PS5 Pro and bro is out there straight gaslighting people that they've showed three.

 
Btw big news and pearl abyss might be lying about the base ps5 version. When they sent digital foundry crimson desert to test, they did so by sending a ps5 pro with the game already installed in it meaning they couldn't play the base ps5 version of the game.



Most developers just send a review copy or a digital code to reviewers so they can look over the game, but pearl abyss side stepped that so that digital foundry couldn't purposely look at the base version. Lying asses.

They created the drama. After the recent PC impressions videos came out they said "relax we'll be showing console footage before launch". Then they moved the goalposts and said "well you won't really believe us so we sent the console versions to digital foundry". Then it turned out all they did was send a whole ass PS5 Pro with the game code on it, not actual copies of the different console versions. One curated copy controlled by them, preinstalled.

They could have nipped this "drama" in the bud by doing what they said they were going to do initially and show all of the console versions before launch. Now they're acting like dicks to anyone asking a valid question.

After seeing todays topics popping up on this forum i just had a thought about this aswell. 90% of the topics are drama and doom and gloom, its just getting tiresome

I can see why people are suspicious. Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't that long ago, for example, and the deception surrounding it was so undeniable that even the normally implacable Sony gave refunds.

Does EVERY game now need to have specific developer released videos showing each and every console? Had ANY game done this?

People want this game to fail for whatever reason. Good forbid we get a fantasy open world single player game instead of more fucking GaaS slop.

I can't honestly remember an anticipated AAA game that didn't have videos of the Xbox and PS5 versions. Often they are released on Microsoft's and Sony's channels though.
