It's really not happening lol. I think DF have got it 100% wrong saying the games they're showing are running on native PSSR 2 via a patch.
Go compare whatever DF has shown for PSSR2 games to the same games with the toggle turned on.
Chances are CDPR has outsourced the patch to Virtous like they have done for most recent CP2077 patches.
Also. While I'm at it. The FF VII Rebirth part in the DF video where Alex talks about improved mip mapping and how there is less detail on the Buster Sword on Zak's back and has the dirt being all low res - as shown here.
Is a load of shit, it's just UE being UE and having a fit with LoD. You can see the arm texture, the back of his hair, on the floor and the metal bars on the stairs change quality for no reason.
It even does it on Quality Mode and performance modes (But that's blurry as shit anyway). It goes back to the normal textures after moving the camera or Zak.
It feels very disingenuous from DF explicitly stating what they're showing isn't the current retail code and is patched, when nothing of the sort seems to be happening for the end user. Same thing with the PS blog which read to me there would be new patches. I mean c'mon, why would they announce PSSR2 and games (including Dragon Age Deadguard, which has no one working on it and EA would understandably refuse to waste any more money on it), then not put out updates that day? Where is the logic behind it?
