LTTP: Thinking about playing Fallout New Vegas, is it good?

So, I was browsing through the Steam sales when I saw that Fallout New Vegas UE is $5. I've never played any game in the Fallout series and for that price, I was thinking about giving it a shot.

Is it worth it? Do I need to install any mods or is the original experience good enough? or should I wait for the inevitable Remake/Remaster ?

I enjoyed it but it didnt like blow me away when I played it a couple years post release. The game is very reactive but i just didnt really care about any character or factions for it to matter

Play Fallout 3 instead. When I got around to playing NV I found it a lot harder, maybe I thought I was not remembering FO3 correctly. So I loaded that up and was right it was easier and more enjoyable.

Got bored at the myriad of reddit jokes on the Old World Blues DLC, but aside from that it's a pretty cool game yeah.

1 and 2 are still better but out of the new ones, I'd say NV is the one that gets closer to the quality of the classics.

3 is also worth checking out btw, that game gets a lot of hate and I don't get why. Ending sucks sure but with Bethesda games I believe it's more about the journey rather than the destination.

Let me tell you - it is!

I played it the first time like two years ago on my Deck and spent around 40h from start to finish. I played it without mods and had no issues.

I also played Fallout 3 and 4 but never managed to finish those, but Vegas was just a good game from start to finish

yeah, i m thinking of buying this just for late night sessions on my deck, since the game assets are old as fuck i think it ll fit better playing on the deck than on a large screen.
