Mandalorian and Grogu first clip

I'm assuming you're talking about the CGI? It doesnt look great, but CGI has been pretty mid in almost all movies in the past years. Other than that, it looks like it still has the charm of the show which I like.

Holy shit that was bad.

Zero sense of speed or urgency, slow moving shots, bad CG, terribly overplayed Marvelesque "wrong button" joke you can see coming 15 seconds before it drops.

I can't believe this is an actual movie coming to cinemas instead of a slop series dumped on Disney+.

Maybe it's just the quality of the clip on Twitter, but the fidelity doesn't look all that great. I'm sure, though, in theater it will be up to par.

Funny scene, but surprised they're going to theaters with this type of thing -- seems more like a sitcom. That being said, I'm sure the SW fans will still make it profitable for them.

It blows my mind how they killed all the good will they picked up from the first 2 seasons, and that Luke rescue scene.
Fans were starting to enjoy it, so they had to turn it into a farce and replace the hero with a girlboss, then have the hero kneel and submit to her. I wonder who could've been behind that decision.

Are you excited

It looks exactly like a regular episode of the tv series. Star Wars has been mismanaged pretty badly after the success of the original trilogy. It's a shame, since the overall artstyle and even the story concept of Star Wars is genuinely great - it has so much potential. But since it became a global phenomenon, everyone has tried to milk it maximally by trying to turn it into a product for the masses. What was once a piece of cinematic art (the first original triolgy), turned into fast food cinema pretty fast, with all of its usual bland and boring ingredients in order to appeal to as many people as possible, just like the food at mc donalds.
It's the typical curse of monetary success - nothing is poised to destroy artistic expression / artistic quality more than that. One could also call it the phenomenon of "disneyfication".

Now I want an 80s cheesy sitcom opening song with Mando and Grogu.

Honestly, it's been since Filoni has gotten involved. He's obsessed with his waifu, Ahsoka, and the other characters that "he" created. (And, truth be told, Season 2 dropped off when it got a little video gamey: "Go help this person. They will tell you where the Mandalorians are." BadAss Boba Fett made it palatable.)

With Filoni and his wife, things won't change at Lucasfilm. At all.

The little alien is over 50 years old and as dumb as a rock still. It was a funny bit when you thought it was a baby. When you realize he is supposed to be 50 and hasn't matured it becomes a silly nuisance that is tiring.

I already have imax tickets for the whole family, so I'd appreciate it if EviLore EviLore would stop trying to harsh my buzz :P

My initial enthusiasm for the summer slate (Mando, He-man, Supergirl) is fading fast. ESPECIALLY when I look back at summer releases in the 80's, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST the decline of Hollywood is never more apparent.

What is the over/under on the return of Cara Dune?
Her fight at the White House is the week before, so on one hand her profile will have never been higher. But on the other hand, she's VERY associated with Trump and TDS makes corps do very silly things. So I figure she MIGHT have a very disposable scene they can add or remove last minute depending on whatever social media pollster who has the most clout tells them. Personally I think any and all bridges between Carano and Lucasfilm are burned, but maybe she has good relations with Filoni (doesn't seem like Kennedy went to bat for her) and it's just daddy Disney thats the issue.

oh wait, her fight isn't the White House one, so in that case I think it's MUCH more likely that she has some sort of cameo.

I figured it would be part of her settlement to get to come back.

"Whoa whoa whoa, this scene is getting too epic. Cut the music and have someone do something stupid, quick".

Disney has been pulling this same fucking joke for 15 years. How are they still getting away with it!?

Literally just looks like a clip from a new Mandalorian season, and not even a good one.

Also shouldn't this have a higher budget since it's a movie? Why do the VFX look so bad?

Problem is they are not really getting away with it anymore.

That was like a first draft idea that got edited down for timing in a later draft and then cut during editing as it didn't work with the tone of the scene.

Except they just committed the first draft to final cut.

None of that dialogue sounded like anyone actually thought they were in any danger whatsoever.

Not to harp on how much better Star Wars used to be, but just compare that entire thing to how Han Solo reacts to Leia just shooting the cover off the garbage chute:

Have people literally forgotten how to act, or direct?

About as exciting as this Boba Fett scene:

Edit:

I miss the days when we had banged up and dirty vehicles in Star Wars. And the shiny ones were mostly seen in Coruscant.

Damn man that's fucking terrible. At this point this style of writting almost feels like a parody of itself, can't believe someone wrote that shit and thought to themselves "hell yeah man this is pure kino".

Movie seems to basically be Grogu fanservice with none of the cool stuff from S1 and 2 from the series.

Every clip I see of the mandalorian it feels like Pedro is just sleepwalking through it for a paycheck. Was he always this checked out?
