For someone who is PC-phobic, like me, I'd be interested in it. But you're right: You'd have to hit the sweet spot as far as price. I fear I would be like many people -- I'll "wait and see" for a price drop.

Same. I'm very curious about it. If it has good value on the PC side then I might consider it.

Eh, agree to disagree. Prices have gone up across the board, yes, but I wouldn't say the perceived 'budget' line has gone up along with it.

When I say "budget", I mean the cheapest option someone can buy off the shelf. That really hasn't changed.

Sure, in that way you're absolutely right.

But when you look at it in the way that the same machine I bought in 2020 for $499 is now $650, the exact same machine with 0 enhancements, the budget prospect has almost entirely been eroded..

Yeah, if the entry price is too high then budget minded consumers will just opt out entirely.
 
Really want less talking. Just deliver a good new Halo experience, campaign. It feels simple, but seems too complex for them.

This planning would have taken place well before Mrs. Sharma "swooped in" to save the day/right the ship/align the synergies/hear us/focus north wind priorities to align with player expectations and needs/ etc etc etc.
Her position is an awful one to have. She will get all the credit and will take all the blame. As we know the blame column is ALWASY larger than the credit column.

I think the folks praising her in these threads are priming the axe to fall REAL hard in a few months. It isn't this persons fault to want a promotion or to take on positions of challenge and reward esp when the challenge involves content that is outside of their previous positions.
It sucks when the platform they are placed has a spot light on it so bright no one can see the chopping block.

I wish her luck...she is going to need a truck load of it.

Good point. Her ambition can't be held against her.

Perhaps one day she will fly away. But still, the place we live in will be that much more drab and empty when she does go. We can only enjoy her while she is here. And cheer her on.

Also, let's not pretend this is our first parasocial relationship with a gaming exec:

It would amazing if she becomes a Reggie 2.0.
Western devs need to make a comeback to help sustain the industry and MS should have the resources to do just that.

I hope Xbox is on the backside of their own personal "Wii-U era", only time will tell.

Optimizing the "Xbox OS" (or custom Win 11 whatever you want to label it) so it has as little of an overhead for Helix seems like a great thing, in theory.

Realistically I don't know what else they can improve on the Series OS side. It's not like its missing any features like VRR or 1440p support that had to be patched in year(s) after release using PS5 as an example.

Maybe we see the debut of a new interface that will go on to be the default Helix launch interface.

Day 1 on Gamepass. That's it, that's what they have left regarding exclusivity. They can't afford Xbox exclusivity when their userbase is so small.
They could possibly run games better on Helix than PS6, but I doubt I'll happen since Sony is a hardware company and Microsft isn't. Sony is going to pull a rabbit out their hat.
Timed exclusivity just increase negativity. Destroys the PR every time. And lower hype and sales numbers at the LTTP release.

Best bet will be to keep releasing games on other platforms, but have timed exclusives for their key Xbox titles like Halo, Forza etc.

They can still carry on making billions by selling games on other platforms, plus give their fans a reason to buy the new hardware.
