Herman Hulst confirms end of Single Player PS games porting to PC.

Even if that were true the relationships were at one point strong enough they shopped their games to Sony instead of another publisher. Those 2nd party titles are really what people remember the PS1 to PS4 for when you really examine it.

I agree. But it doesn't chane the fact they were 2nd party games. There's someone arguing with me that 2nd party doesnt even exist.

Third party. A game were sony is just paying money to have it timed console exclusive or something is called moneyhatting.

If it is indeed second party they are doing more than paying a sum to have it exclusives. Most of these games wouldnt even be made without the publisher.

Thats pure 3rd party exlusivity or marketing shenanigans. Take Ace Combat 6 or Ridge Racer 6 on Xbox 360 on launch.

Your second statement is correct and defines second party, they need the Pubs money. But they do not give their IP away as a 3rd Party Studio for example Stellar Blade. Naughty Dog, Insomniac and Sucker Punch were literally 2nd party for the PS2 until acquired by Sony.

Oh, so NOW you believe Sony? The funny part is that this goes against what you previously said:

But bro won't believe the actual statement he made about 2nd party studios 🤣🤣 hence I already said. DONT BELIEVE CORPORATE SHENANIGANS. Youre outing yourself. I knew you have horse blinders on so you'll come back with that exact statement and ignore his second party explanation. Hilarious.

I said before that 2nd party does exist as a type of 1st party. I do think Shu is clearly wrong when equaling Nioh 1 and 2 to Rise of the Ronin, guy is washed out.

Just specifically about the Nioh part. Nioh is third-party, not even second-party.
And again not addressing how what he said about owned IP, contracted developer was different from your idea of it?

The old games wouldn't lend themselves to the new camera system well. Part of the reason for that over-the-shoulder camera is to facilitate the interactions with the Leviathan Axe which obviously isn't present in the older games. Furthermore, the pulled back camera allows for a much wider field of view and better crowd control. This makes it so the original trilogy has some huge fights with a dozen enemies at once on screen, something that is rarely if ever seen in the new games and when it is, it's insanely frustrating because of the limited FOV. I do think the combo system is significantly better in the newer games though. However, the trade off is there are only 3 weapons per game, with the fists having been made effectively obsolete in Ragnarok.
I personally love the crowd management you're required to master in GoW 2018. Especially at GMGoW difficulty. The 100 enemies challenge or Ivaldi's workshop are so, so fun and satisfying at top level gameplay.

In my opinion, they should keep the old camera and some of the old mechanics such as juggling and the weapons variety, but maybe add some depth to the combat with more moves and perhaps different builds (though don't go RPG).

And one understated aspect of the fixed and pulled back camera is that it really captures the scale and grandiosity of the Greek universe.

This just doesn't work with an over-the-shoulder camera. Everything feels closer and narrower.
Yeah, absolutely. The game is filled with spectacular sequences that I just don't see working in regular third person. Like Cronos obviously.
Still, I've played and replayed these games soo many times so I'd welcome something completely fresh, as 2018 systems in Greece would be.

Wait til people realise it's not just Sony studios going exclusive to PlayStation but also third parties who collaborate with XDev.

- ShiftUp making Stellar Blade 2 without Sony's input aiming for a multiplatform release.
- FROMSoftware preferring to work with Nintendo over Sony.
- RGG going with Xbox as a leading platform for "Stranger than Heaven".
- Square Enix making all future Final Fantasy games (and potentially everything else they release) multiplatform from day 1.
- Team Ninja not accepting Sony moneyhats after Rise of the Ronin.

Sony fanboys are pathetic.

New games, old games are irrelevant. Unless you're only planning on playing old games from here on out.

you literally cannot separate patapon from its art, and only rockstar games is included on the copyright notice of GTAV:
That's a wild argument. For one thing, it doesn't matter, legally, how vital a licensed thing is to the IP. 2, how do you think people would react if they just released a GTA game with no music at all?

There, I bolded the "new/upcoming" releases part for you.

Given the games didn't sell well on pc, it's probably more likely because they didn't profit off it versus the cost of porting

PC boys really aren't taking this well lol.

Nope, we're just reminding you no one cared about Sony's slop. As evident from the low sales on Steam.

There was literally one PS exclusive most PC players cared about.

And that was Bloodborne.

And it's fully playable at 60FPS/4K on PC now via emulation.

they have already removed the licensed music from re-releases. patapon art is not a licensing thing, it is the ip itself. you're still not addressing the copyright mattters

I think PC gamers will be fine, it's not like Sony's single player games have been setting the world on fire. People lost interest once the novelty wore off a couple years ago.

Might change once Sony decides to make good games again. lmao

I mean GT7 is pretty good and so is Astro Bot. Before that yeah, GoW and SP1 were decent. Ghost of Tsushima 1 was pretty good and even Horizons 1 was ok. All the sequels were kind of meh though.
Aw shit, forgot about GT7 and Astro's game. Wish they made more of those, people seemed to really like them.

I did play GOT and Horizon and didn't like them that much. GOT was fun to me until Act 2 where I got bored and Horizon... maybe it wasn't my thing, dunno, but I really didn't like it lol.

Where the fuck is killzone? Infamous? Resistance?
The teams that made those are probably long gone

If Sony forced a brand new team to make Killzone 5 or Resistance 4 today, it wouldn't magically feel like the old games. It would just be a corporate mandate wearing a nostalgic skin

Some of you treat game franchises like phone models, they think you just upgrade the tech and pump out the next iteration lmfao

Sad thing isn't that the SP games won't come, but that we are actually getting those GAAS turds. :lollipop_crying:
Hey man! If PS owners have to suffer, so should PC gamers. I was about to say that Xbox is the only platform that won't get that horrible looking Horizon GaaS title, but then I remembered the PC and ps5 are Xbox's.

All that suffering will bring us together. :lollipop_content:
