I've put only the info I've had time to check. There are more graphs at the links.

LittleBigPlanet 2 seems to be doing quite well, as does PS3 hardware in general (looks like the should have hit their 15 million prediction for last fiscal year, right?)

Also, Dance Central doing better than i realised.

It's good that all the three consoles are selling that close to each others... the market share of this generation is pleasing all the three companies equally at this moment :D

3DS hardware sales per week look to be settling around the same as DS sales currently, ~30-50k a week when looking at the Japanese + European handheld hardware sales graphs.

I'm surprised a PS2 game is in the chart (Spain chart).

Unbelievable how badly 360 games do over here in non-UK europe. Sony and Nintendo really have a tight grip.
Or maybe the whole RRoD really crippled them there or the games on Wii/ps3 are just that much more appealing

It's great that Nintendo gives out so detailed sales for Europe (although it's not exactly the whole Europe....it should be just UK+France+Germany+Spain).

Pretty damn close!
You know what's surprising about this number? PS3 is the most expensive hardware out of the three and yet it's still leading in sales.
That's what you call brand loyalty.

I think this is equivalent to calling a husband "loyal" because he sleeps with you some random night after three extra-marital affairs.

I think it has more to do with the software really.

I doubt the Sony badge is the main reason why people by PS3s.

It's mostly about brand name here. All ages know what Playstation or Nintendo mean. Xbox? Only mostly teens and young adults even recognize the name.

it's a better value

Blu-ray player

free online

harddrive in all models (adding the harddrive makes the 360 about the same price )

I dunno, I'm pretty sure someone who had a PS2 last gen would go straight for the familiar PS3 this gen.

I don't really see PS3 software flying off the shelves anywhere.

I doubt it, seriously when you look at Nintendo for example, last gen it was tepid here (France) and now it's really doing great.
The ps3 started off horrible and SCEE really did some crazy magic to turn things around.
360 is not really considered considering the exclusives do nothing for it and ps3's eating its lunch anyway.

I still contend that MK DD sales in PAL land is what makes it pass over SSBM WW (a difference of less than 2M edit : actually checked and it's a diff of 3/4M...)

I'm surprised Killzone 3 is up there. I thought Bulletstorm was handily outselling it.

In the UK Bulletstorm did ok on 360 only, but it dropped, KZ3 has had longer lasting power on the charts. KZ3 did better everywhere else.

OMG The PS3 outsold the XBOX 360 and Wii for the Q1/11 in Europe, now thats a loyal fan base.

Games?! They unleashed the Kraken (GT5) and that's probably been the main driving force.

Didn't you hear GAF? That game is worthless and is totally not the main driving force Sony ever had in Europe

I see. I guess I should have known better, Sony's games do tend to have very long legs. They aren't evergreen like some of the Nintendo franchises, but they do very very good numbers in the end.

seeing PS3 on top WW and Wii last is kind of strange if you think about it. So PS3 is almost half a million closer to 360, even with kinect success. Interesting

PS3 is not as expensive as the 360 with its yearly fees and less features. if you want to weight brand royalty, you must apply the same standards to all the other competitors. so what if EU gamers are better informed and act accordingly? the PS3 has a whole lot to offer, there is no reason to downplay its sales.

Japan really hurts the 360. No matter what Microsoft does, they just can't penetrate that market.

That cannot be stressed enough, the fee for online is really a barrier here, especially since msft does the 1$ = 1€ conversion

Oh really? 360 with 250GB costs €235, PS3 €285.

true. However US sales are also 'hurting' Playstation brand quite a bit. Wii popularity plus 360 being the 'home' console is also a factor.
BTW, i guess European sales are the most lucrative for both Nintendo and Sony (and probably MS) because of the €-$- Yen exchange rates.

one year live subscription is around 60€/$ . That alone eats the difference in a single year. And people usually use a console a few

Oh, I wasn't downplaying the sales. I was just more surprised it was leading in sales.
Also, maybe I wasn't giving the consumer the benefit of the doubt of them doing their homework before purchasing a console.

You can buy them for $40 (€30), though I guess most people buy subscription cards readily available. But that's even ignoring that PSN is not quite the same experience as XBL, or that many people are not interested in online play.

And yet the Ps3 stills sells more.

Also you would think a thread with such detailed info would garner more responses I mean sales age is the biggest thing going but maybe these aren't the results people wanted to see.

i know that story about cheaper options, but that will not be the majority of gold subscriptors.
As for the experience, it doesn't really matter, you could say PS3 is a different experience because it has bluray and bla bla bla. The fact is that PS3 is more expensive if your are an offline player, but it is not if you are an online player. Then some will enjoy PSN or XBLA more or less. For me is about the friends online not the service so much.

Wow.
Kinect did not drive MS to outsell Sony WW. And damn, Sony outselling the Wii WW is very surprising. No wonder Nintendo announced Wii 2.
Software side MS is almost absent from Europe.
