And because other benches look like this, there are a lot of trades. when some1 goes down it gets ugly for teams and they have to make decisions, not just pick up some other number 1 guy from FA. We've been doing this for years and have honed in on this league, still needs adjusting imo but we've done what you're talking about and prefer this much more. Picking up the right #2 receivers and split backs and that adding up to a win is more satisfying than cooley all of a sudden has a better game than finley.
So you have to make no decisions when it comes to game day. Even with an injury 1 player means less than on a normal league. So you are basically taking out roster decisions and waiver waiver since every player is on a team. Trades are more interesting in a normal league because injuries mean so much more (less starters, 1 player makes more of a difference).

Did my 10 man family's $ league draft last night. We've been doing huge teams for years. Had an awesome team last year to lose first round of the playoffs. This is what a real fantasy football league looks like.

QB Josh Freeman
QB Matt Cassell
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Dez Bryant
WR Kenny Britt
WR Davone Bess
RB Ray Rice
RB Matt Forte
RB Benjarvus Green-Ellis
TE Jermichael Finley
W/T Braylon Edwards
W/R Fred Jackson
K Josh Brown
DEF Philadelphia
D Ed Reed
D Demarcus Ware

BN LaDainian Tomlinson
BN Thomas Jones
BN Cam Newton
BN Steve Smith
BN Andre Roberts
BN Randall Cobb
BN Terrell Owens

Deep fantasy leagues are the best way to keep up with everything around the league!

I like how u use defense players in the mix. my league we used to go
D
DL
DB

This year I switched it to just any Defense player. It made the draft better. And also limit the transactions to 20 moves max

Peyton is out for Game 1. If I had to guess, he's out for the season, maybe career.

Is ours.

Our record with Stanford QBs isn't good. (lol) If there has to be a silver lining to Manning missing the season, getting Luck would be it. But...I don't think we'll fall that far. We've got a team of veterans on both sides that would help us get 4 or 5 wins, even without Peyton. That's just my two cents.

PS. I miss your old avatar.

PPS. You're a Colts fan?

Pre-game show for Packers/Saints will air on 5 different channels:

While President Obama’s address to Congress airs on NBC before Thursday night’s Saints-Packers opener, five channels will air the pregame show.

VERSUS, USA, Syfy, G4 and NFL Network will all begin coverage of the 90-minute NFL Kickoff 2011 Presented by EA Sports at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday. NBC will show Obama’s speech at 7 and then join NFL Kickoff 2011 in progress when the speech is over. The game starts at 8:30, and the White House says Obama’s speech will end well before kickoff.

The 90-minute pregame show will feature musical performances as well as analysis from the usual cast of characters from Football Night in America and Sunday Night Football, including Bob Costas, Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, Dan Patrick, Tony Dungy, Rodney Harrison, Peter King and PFT’s own Mike Florio.

On Versus, NBC Sports Talk will air at 6 p.m. ET and serve as the lead-in to the pregame coverage.

I just don't get how you think we do any less in this league just because it's a larger team. 3 of the people in the league are in sports radio and 3 more are one of those guys' little brothers, the people in it take it serious and there's just as much that goes into selecting number 2 wideouts and split backs as there is in deciding to start steve smith or brandon marshall. A fantasy league is as active as its users make it as long as the commish has good scoring. There is plenty of strategy and action in this league.

I hope to God it's not the end of Peyton's career. That'd be dumbest way for him to go out.

And you just know Painter's gonna fuck the Andrew Luck train up.

Theres no problem drafting Moore or even Keenum. They prob can fit in well

Stopped reading there, have fun with your panty league.

seems like the bulk of the fantasy discussion is "your draft sucked/your team sucks/your league sucks." I'm missing out...

Packers' Rodgers calls Sanchez's GQ spread 'embarrassing'

"Look at this, that's embarrassing. Page 94 of this GQ thing here, that's terrible," Rodgers said.

it's gonna look funny if the bears win by less than 10, "haha, I told you we'd make it a close game!"

He would still have to wear it lol. I'll adjust the wording though. So ill make a sad panda one of Falcons lose by 9 or less and the original you suck version, the version he will wear....I know it.

Eagles resigned CB Joselio Hanson to a two year deal so he's off the market.

The Giants are holding tryouts for Linebackers so apparently they have not officially signed Kawika Mitchell as of yet. Regardless of who they sign, rookie Greg Jones will be manning the middle on Sunday.

Resigning Hanson is a great move for depth. Just hope it doesn't mean they are looking to trade Asante still.

Anyway could it be possible that the Eagles and Giants both field some of the worst LBs in the league?

Went with my gut on most of these, The Vikes pick is a homer lean but I honestly think they will do better than most are thinking.

I wonder if Browns were nuked from orbit that this area would get Steelers game all the time.
Where in PA are you? I'm about 45 mins. west of Pittsburgh and I get mostly Steeler games. This week I'll get PIT/BAL, NYG/WSH, and ATL/CHI.

Two questions for fantasy buffs (this is my first time playing and I'm an idiot):

1) I picked up Joseph Addai assuming Manning would be out at least the start of the season (which turned out to be correct). Would it be smart to start him since they'll have to rely more on their running game (such as it is?

2) Johnny Knox vs. Hines Ward: who should I start?

The position is just deemphasized on both teams and has been for a long time. From the Giants standpoint I'm of the opinion that Goff was on the way to be good. Not spectacular and never one to break out but just solid. Boley I think will end up having a good year. The other side has been the vacuum for us and with Kiwi there now, I think we'll have a quality rushing LB that can move around. The question is if anyone can really cover the middle of the field.

Along with that, I've said it several times already but I can't remember the last time I was really optimistic about some of the young talent we have at the position as well.

Did you see this by the way?

I think Watkins will end up working out for you guys, but he needs time to learn. It's the right decision (though I'd love to see him in there day one for obvious reasons:) )

Harrisburg here and I'm glad to see that. I decided to forego the Sunday Ticket thing.

I'd personally pick Knox.

No to knock Hines, but the rest of the Steelers receivers are so high powered you're mainly going to see Hines make drive extending plays.

I think Addai is a fine start regardless. His stats when not injured are actually really solid, so unless you have a better option it's best to start him while you can.

I'd probably start Ward. Knox is going to break out from Roy's shadow soon, but Atlanta have solid corners, the Bears are usually a mess, and when in doubt, Ward is a starting receiver who is going to get less coverage. If you'd rather gamble a few points on upside, Knox is not a bad idea.

Oh shit no I didn't see that. What a joke, he was supposed to be the pick who was "the most NFL ready" in the draft and a few days before they bench him.

This happens often to the Eagles now. They either forget 1 whole position or make changes last minute. I can't believe that Reid, who always preached OLINE and DLINE, is fielding such crap at OLINE.

This season is going to be great for my 9ers. I think they will get the #2 seed, and then beat the Saints at home on a last second TD from small hands to VD. Then they will beat the Giants in the NFC championship, and then good Harbaugh will beat bad Harbaugh for the SB.

I hope Hines has enough left to reach 1000 catches this year. I think this could be his last.

I hope Hines' achilles explodes week one in Baltimore, and I get to watch him write in pain on the field. Of the Steelers' players I hate, none are hated more than Hines Ward.

I also have Jahvid Best of the Lions...

No way I'd bench Best for Addai. Not in week 1. Best is like a supercharged Addai at this point; use him while him and the offense is healthy, and you could get last year's Week 2 explosion. Wait, and...

Wishing for injury..

Just living up to the thuggish nature of your team.

I think they have tried to fix the OL. They signed Harris, but he got hurt, and they drafted Watkins, but no OTA's and a holdout have slowed him down. Hopefully he will get in there really soon.

Its a bad sign when he himself admits he is overwhelmed. Hope he cracks the lineup soon because even with him in there they are average at best.

I give Vick 3 games before he is hurt.
