Fuck just gamer boyfriends, where are the other gamer jocks, I need a guy who will own newbs with me in TF2, spot me in the gym, and make amazing food.
The only people I find like that are online and I don't do that mess anymore.
I know that online/long distance is tricky, but when it's good... it is sooo worth it.
Take my situation - you have seen Ricky and I together. I can tell you that we motivate each other to train (when we train/spot together it's so much more fun), we own newbs in BF3 and have a laugh together, talk politics and science and then I'll make something tasty (and high in protein) for dinner.
I wouldn't have found a guy like him if it wasn't for the internet - or at least, it makes it easier to find someone who shares the interests you want to share. In fact that's what I really mean when I say I love having a gamer boyfriend - I love being with someone who has an interest in the things I am interested in, like science, games, music, food, training, politics etc; who at the same time can also open me up to new experiences and opinions (and get a little competitive with me!).
Sure we're separated by sea and 300km but we make it work and things are going very well. (Seeing him next week actually :3).
I guess I'm just saying that online relationship are a minefield but sometimes they do work out, fantastically so.
It's probably a healthier place to be where you are now anyway; being happy by yourself is something that I think is very hard for some people to achieve. I've heard stories of people who came across the right guy when they were not really looking though.
