November Wrasslin |OT| Apathy is Trending

If creative was more interested in booking Awesome Truth (and getting them over) than telling me what the fuck is trending on Twitter, we might get somewhere.

I mean, fuck, they are only putting Ryder on tv because he probably trends, not because they want to use him.

They aren't using him...give him a real feud, not some half-assed pandering to the WWE fans, er I mean Universe.

To be honest, the twitter stuff on Survivor Series yesterday and Raw tonight, it was in one ear out the other for me. It actually makes me laugh because I know someone's going to mention it here.

People mention it because, it's really silly.

It's the worst kind of reaching--it's like old people trying to be cool.

Feels like a parody you'd see on SNL or something, except, this shit is 100% real.

I don't mind Michael Cole plugging Twitter.

I do however mind Dwayne using twitter in his promos as if he's some sort of badass. Fuck you, Rock.

So yeah. THQ wins. I'm gonna get the game.

They're still lazy as hell gameplay/graphic wise, though, they just happen to be good at cramming lots of content in other areas. The online downloads for CAWs and arenas combined with the Universe mode will be all I use.

Bob Backlund vs Stan Hansen - (NJPW 09/30/80)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9Mxspq0mzk

This match was seriously a ton of fun. Backlund starts out trying to work his usual methodical, technical wrestling style, but it becomes quickly apparent that Hansen is not only a power-house, but has the speed and agility to match whatever Backlund can throw at him. Bob's not phased though, and using his freaky strength he dead-lifts the much larger Hansen up off the mat and dumps him on the top rope before slapping him in the face, which of course only makes Hansen mad. They start going at it before Hansen locks in an arm bar for the next 5 minutes, which isn't a bad thing because in 1980 wrestlers like Hansen & Backlund know how to make simple moves work, and when Backlund makes his comeback the New Japan crowd are eating out the palm of his hand. This is early 1980's NJPW though, so there's no decisive finish, but that doesn't detract from the fun, as Backlund and Hansen start stiffing the crap out of each other before brawling to the outside. The ref gets in Hansen's face, so Stan throws him out of the ring and gets disqualified, but when the ref tries to raise Backlund's hand in victory, he refuses and they start brawling all over again.

I just saw ROH and NOAH arenas in Community Creations. Purchase justified. I'm Fire Pro-ing the crap out of WWE '12.

Gah....every year I tell myself "I'm not buying this years crappy WWE game", and then I see stuff like this. Oh well, I guess it's inevitable :(

The sting of "meh gameplay" is lessened a bit when within a month after release I'll be using all sorts of indy/Puro wrestlers in all sorts of rings to the point where it'll barely resemble a WWE game. Community Creations are seriously the only reasons I pick these up anymore. Plus I got it for 1/3 of retail price which doesn't hurt either.

I keep hope that one day there will be another truly great wrestling game, but for now I'm making lemonade, mang.

Okay so I am watching some snippets of SS and by gawd the sell Ziggler did on the Rough Ryder was just epic. Both those guys deserve to up at the top in a few years! Also the pop towards the end of the CM Punk v Alberto Del Rio and afterwards was amazing. Would of been a sureal experience at Madison Square Garden. I'm jelly

That Kane promo got me hyped, now this time when you tease the masks return please actually use it.
But saying that is like saying "when the WWE game this year gets good review scores please let them actually be right for a change", it always leads to disappointment.

Mask is burning though, so I don't think he actually returns with it.. Or maybe I missed something..

Damn TNA got really good again (imho) watched the Impact reruns and they have alot of (literally and technically) good looking talent.

Does any of you guys know what happened to Generation Me? They were by far my favorite during the awful last 2 years but they seem to be gone (well at least I haven't seen them the last 2 weeks) same with the MGM.

It's one of those days where people expect me to do things at a pre-specified time, but not until the afternoon, so I've had some time to check these out:

I put in the last disc of the Jeff Hardy one, and boy am I regretting spending £9 on this. It's like Jeff Hardy's a pokemon that's run out of moves and so can only use Flail. He fucking sucks, and he looks like a goddamn clown. I remember him being less abysmal somehow.

Edit:

Generation Me asked for - and received - their release, I believe. As for the Motor City Machine Guns, Sabin or Shelley is injured. Or both. Someone else will hopefully clear that up.

Punk vs. Ziggler was a good match? Sad I missed it.

On the other hand, based on the reaction in here last night... Miz turned on R-Truth? Seriously?

Well, they turned on each other. Truth hit Miz in the mouth, Miz feigned forgiveness ("Let's go get Cena!") and then laid Truth out with a SCF on the entrance ramp. As you do.

Yeah, after John Cena talked to them. People thought he'd destroy them in a TLC match, but it all took was 5 minutes on a microphone. On Raw.

As I see it, Raw actually accomplished 3 things last night.

1) They established that Zack Ryder isn't above the midcard. This was likely because they thought some fans would be confused after an entire arena chanted for him.

2) They established that while Dolph Ziggler can go on a main event level, like Cody Rhodes he'll never beat a main eventer clean until he moves up.

3) They raised Miz back to main event status, likely as a reward for jobbing to Rock and Cena. I believe he'll challenge at TLC and the Rumble. Unless he faces Cena at TLC, then he'll challenge at Rumble and be in the Chamber.

Wasn't a good match.

Was a GREAT match.

No, really. You can't find a better match on RAW in this era.

It'll probably be Cena vs Miz vs Truth in a triple threat TLC match.

Cena not in the main event would feel weird (yet awesome).

I was screaming Match Of The Year last night..then I remember Ziggs/Cena on a live Smackdown early this year which was shit tons better :\

Actually they established Zack Ryder is popular. He got a match with a former WWE champion and gotr the Broski boot in a few other bits of offense in.

And Miz they never raised him back to main event status. The ending was slighly confusing to who the face and heel were.
