The Lumia 800 is availble from Phone4u sim free at £399.95.
Tempted once the cyan version comes in.
Does that mean I could use it on Verizon in the US?

I keep hearing up and down things about the Samsung Focus S screen. Some say it's the best, colors pop, vibrant, etc. Others say it's dim, dimmer than the standard Focus.
Is this just because some people don't know about the dimness setting/feature on the S, or is it just a dim screen?

Nope works for upgrades too.
are u not reconnecting the internet after it prompts that there's an update? My launch day phone still doesn't prompt for Mango update.
Any way to force it aside from the 'cut internet connection' thing I've tried a million times?

I'd at least wait till CES.I'm posting a lot in here on this page but it's because I've been thinking pretty heavily about getting the HTC Trophy. I recommended it to my girlfriend for ease of use but I think that little guy is pretty slick. I worry about the features, though. I'm currently in a Verizon contract until October 2012 but the Verizon.com site is now letting me upgrade my phone early (very early, it would seem.)
The HTC Trophy is $29.99 but I'm really thinking I might want to wait. But should I? As opposed to my girlfriend I'm very much about the latest and greatest tech. I am willing to spend $200 on a new phone with a new two-year deal. I've decided my next phone will be a Windows Phone.
I don't know about new specs and new phones that might be coming out. I've heard these phones are underpowered and that a new crop should be coming down the line... eventually. But when? Do we have dates? Will there ever be another Verizon phone running Windows? Is there rumors of a new batch being unveiled soon? If not I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the Trophy and hopefully get to upgrade next year at this time to a Windows 8 phone. Is this the best plan?
Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm having real problems deciding.

Just looked it up January 10-13 is when the conference is. I wonder how long after these phones get announced it will be before they come to market, though.I'd at least wait till CES.
I know, it's really bothering me that my phone provider doesn't have a newer phone for someone like me. I can't be the only one in my situation. Just make it easy for me, Verizon. I want to buy, so sell.I don't blame you at all for wanting to get a Windows Phone. I've had mine for about a month, and it was the first time I had used a Windows Phone, and I've loved it. However, in your situation, I would definitely recommend waiting for a second generation WP7 phone, which I would say will be here before too long. Verizon just needs to get their heads in the game and get some more windows phones.
Anyone else having trouble loading wireless.amazon.com? I am trying to pull the trigger on the Titan, but the site seems to be down for me.

So, any app that is currently in the multi-tasking (by holding back) will automatically resume, but selecting the app through it's tile won't? I've noticed this when using Kik Messenger and basically anything else.
It's probably a dumb question, but I really didn't get to toy around with the multi-tasking when I had the Mango beta on my Focus as many apps weren't supported.
And since the interface is so slick, I really don't ever think to use the multi-tasking as everything opens pretty quick as it is.
I'd wait for the Lumia 800. It's sleek on the outside, Microsoft inside.
Any word on new Sprint devices? My wife is itching for a new phone and the window for me the upgrade and do the hand-me-down is narrowing.Sprint's support of WP7 has been pretty abysmal.![]()
There might be a Verizon version of that phone. Verizon had some people at the Nokia World event in London. That isn't going to be a Verizon device, is it?

CYBER SATURDAY

Windows Phones starting
at 1¢. One day only!
I really need help in logging in onto the mobile GAF site. See previous page here for what I've done so far to try and solve it
According to the original press release for Saturday's online sale, all Windows 7 phones are a penny on Saturday.just read the ad for Saturday ATT
it then links to all currently available at retail prices so I'm guessing the $49.99 phones may be a penny and then maybe $50 off the FS and titan?
I think nokia is trying to be like apple and announce their phones a month or so before release. So it shouldn't be too long after.Just looked it up January 10-13 is when the conference is. I wonder how long after these phones get announced it will be before they come to market, though.
I doubt we will see an updated zune pc software anytime soon.... they seem to be part of the xbox team now and they did just release a new version for the xbox.
I think any software development happening is for windows 8 at this point.... I think its very likely we never see another standalone zune software version. Its being integrated into the xbox app in windows 8. Hopefully as part of this they will put out xbox apps for android and ios with the streaming support to match all of this.

(notice how the app matches the xbox beta dashboard with the video and music sections and that is a good thing imo)

Going by a list of Windows Phones on Wikipedia, youd expect to see a maximum of 20 distinct phone types in our database. (I made a tweak to this list, separating the US-based and EU-based Samsung Focus Flash.) I mean, why would I expect otherwise, right? A phone should report its make and model accurately. But a quick look in the database shows otherwise. The database contains 50 distinct phones and that only represents a tiny group of devices in the wild.

finally got my hands on the titan (and focus S)
Focus s was nice and screen was great but I already have focus and screen jump just wasn't significant enough (size) and it felt too light to me.
titan...
OMG love love love. Must own. waiting to see if I can get the .01 deal at ATT Saturday otherwise I'll pull trigger at $199 and give Focus to GF
it's like a mini tablet, colors were actually better to me and I liked the looked of the themes as they were not over saturated like my Focus.
the weight and build quality felt sweet. Physically compared to my focus with the case it was not much bigger at all. I will probably add a titan case when they are available which will add size but I can live with it in exchange for the beautiful screen

As for At&t ads, the original leak said "All Windows phone" for $0.01, so who know. Anyway, Amazon Wireless also have Titan for 1 penny if you are starting a new contract. If you upgrade your existing line it's 79.99.
Hahaha, so weird that the Titan is only $80 for an upgrade to an existing family plan, but the Focus S is $200. That makes my decision a lot easier, even if it is backordered.
EDIT: Oh shit. I can't keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan if I upgrade to a new phone? I was able to keep it when I went from my iPhone to my Focus.
Fuck, is that serious? I was planning on doing the Amazon $80 upgrade if I couldn't get it for a penny on Saturday, but I don't want to lose my unlimited plan.

Titan owners....
It uses a standard micro USB for charging correct?
For those of you with a Zune pass, do you get the artist bio's on your phone?
Yeah, on the "Services" page after you pick your phone, it looks like you HAVE to pick an option from the existing plans, unless I'm missing something.
The universe really doesn't want me to get a new phone.
No, sorry. Not quite as clever as LastFM
