trophies count, yeah? they're the same thing.

this year, i platted Demons Souls, Dark Souls, Yakuza 4 and No More Heroes Paradise. i don't think i'm gonna get 4 in the same year ever again!

1. went to hawaii as one of 26 students out of over 10,000 applicants for a high school science program. worked with scientists and broadcasted a show back to middle schoolers for about a week.
2. eagle scout
***ten years later***
3. getting my work into actual things that people buy. feels good man.

Only thing I can think of is passing my CISSP, but I doubt that's really it. Next year I'll have a definite one, passing the CCIE Security lab. I'm going to get a tattoo to celebrate.

In rough order:

1. Completed and released a video game on Steam
2. Graduated with a 3.99 GPA (fuck you Professor Gugel) with two engineering degrees from the University of Florida
3. Completed first draft of a novel
4. High school valedictorian
5. Went skydiving
6. Voice acted in a ridiculously bad foreign martial arts dub (I know this sounds dumb, but it was a weird dream I had as a kid), and then a video game (League of Legends) later that year
7. Traveled to and explored Japan
8. Got this bitchin' tag on NeoGAF

Never thought I was that interesting but I will make one about my cancer and how getting married was how I found out

If you do link it in this thread in case people miss it on the front page of OT. Damn @ finding out you have cancer when you get married though that has to be the worst thing ever.

Taking 23 10mg percocet pills and being just ok, just being reaaally high. i built my tolerance up that much. What an achievement!

But seriously, my achievements are pretty much regarding my time in the Army Depot. In six years working there, I've advanced immensely and become head of a huge department, moved to the upper middle income bracket, been awarded multiple times by the Colonel and even a General. Been sent to Washington to hobnob with politicians to lobby on behalf of a certain bill beneficial to a certain contract. Redesigned the masking process here to improve efficiency and cut down time by over 45%. Implemented new LEAN efficiency standards across the board.

In the side, I've been consistently tinkering away at a graphic novel for the better part of ten years. It will be my magnum opus!

But my biggest achievement will be shortly when I get married and buy my first house. I've lived in this apartment for over seven years now, I'll miss this place... but I now make more than enough money to have my own big house and start a family. I'm almost done saving and I'm excited

My independence.

Professionally; working my arse off throughout college and uni to become a game designer and achieving it within a few months of graduating. My first shipped title sold over 3.5 million units.

1. Graduating from the premier university in my country
2. Getting into the game industry

My main dream career-wise: Working on a triple A game, which is pretty hard considering I'm from a third world country. My plan is to work for a few years here, save up, and move to Singapore and work for Ubisoft SG. After a few years, I hope I can move to the US and work for a Sony first party studio. I hope I can do all that shit before I turn 30. (I'm 22 now, turning 23 next month).

Hats off to you bro.
What title did you work on?

I suffer from major depression and the only girl i have ever liked could never work out. I'm constantly losing out to disgusting losers. I guess that makes me one. My job is also horrible, so I have no escape.

Do failures count as achievements if you make them sound good? For instance, I made it over halfway through college (before dropping out)!

I designed a water sampling mechanism for an amphibious robot.
Its a copper tube, with two plugs and a spring. I'm working on a second prototype, which uses the same copper tube and the same spring, but the plug designs have had a few of their dimensions changed.
