Alright. I'm back from the Sabres game. I've officially had it with them. This is where I draw the line in the sand.

Yes, we've had a ton of injuries. But I can't help but feel like they're mailing it in every time I watch them. Tonight was bad because of all the missed opportunities -- goal-line wiffs and numerous missed one-timers, not to mention all the botched drop and cross-ice passes. There's no heart on this team.

I've been to a few games already this season. And I'm done spending money on them until I see some sort of improvement. Some sort of backbone. A team with a spine doesn't roll over to the Islanders at home. A team with a drive to win the Stanley Cup fights hard for every opportunity. That is not this team.

This team is soft. I don't agree with doing it, but I understand why they're booed on home ice now.

I love how all of these teams get to pass Detroit up in points because they have more games played and we get a wonderful 3 day break. :/

That was a surprisingly painful loss. :lol

Can't believe they let GOB down like that. :(

It's okay. They'll just quadruple-shift Kane.

EDIT: Didn't shift Kane enough.
heh. Kane is definitely back it the lead for the prestigious name/number of my xmas present jersey. It's great how for years I'll have a Jets jersey that reflects whoever was hottest on the team through early December of their first year back. :P When Kane/Burmi/Antro/whoever I end up with gets traded at the deadline it'll be awesome

So I take it you aren't going to the game during your PAX outing?

Ha, I swear you must go to every game I do.

I just got back. I don't get the lack of effort complaint tonight. I thought they played pretty well and lost because they just kept missing open nets (and Montoya made a great save on Roy during the 5-on-3). Regehr had a great physical game, Kassian showed some flashes, and our top line looks consistently good. Admittedly, Staff/Roy/Leino are playing lousy. I know it sucks we lost to the Isles, but this isn't the same as getting our doors blown off by the BJs.

I'm done going to the games for awhile myself, but not because of the team. I'm sick of spoiled fans booing a team losing a tight defensive game by one goal. Shots and chances were pretty even the whole night. The Sabres aren't good enough right now that the fans should just expect a win because of their opponent - it's going to be a fight until they gel. There's such a negative vibe in the crowd these days. Feels like if they aren't winning by 3 or 4 people are bitching about every little mistake. It's just not a fun atmosphere right now.

Ugh... The Jets have so much trouble closing a game with a win. We could have and should have had the game. Antropov left the game after the 2nd too... Hope he is not hurt too badly, as he is quite important to our offensive line. Burmistrov was playing great tonight, and of course, Kane. Wellwood too. But some of these calls... like the 2nd Ottawa goal, was it? When Pavelic froze the puck but the ref did not blow the whistle and they got it free and scored? I know how the Habs felt a few nights ago now...

Just... Ugh.

Thursday against Phoenix... Gotta win that one here. Still odd to see Jets Vs. Coyotes. It's like some mirror universe scenario.

LOL Some day we're going to actually meet up.

It just felt like there were large stretches tonight where they looked like they didn't give a shit. When they got in they did some work, but it was never sustained effort. You said that the shots and chances were even tonight... against the last place team though. That's not what I expect from this club.

You're right about the vibe though. People are getting sour in that building. I'm really not liking where it's heading.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about losing to the Isles either, but I'm not going to boo my team unless they just don't show up. Too early in the season to be that frustrated, if you ask me.

BTW, how about that interference call on Kassian? Might have been the most incredible call I've seen all year.

Why? You're talking about something 100% superficial with no bearing on anything of consequence.

Eh, it is more along the lines that we seem to keep having these back to back games and then all this time off and we fall behind in games played compared to other teams, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Hey I'm with you on the booing. There's no justification for it at this point (if ever).

The call on Kassian was horrible, as was the missed holding late in the game. I'm sure there were probably missed calls both ways, but those two were super noticeable. I feel like refs should be reviewed and maybe fined for shit like that.

Yeah, I get you on the booing. Just a lot of people in my section got under my skin, heh.

The Kassian interference was just hilarious. He was literally standing still, the other guy bumps him and falls. Oh well. Loved the immediate reaction from Kassian on the Gerbe hit. That's more of what this team needs.

Buffalo are 3 points behind the division leaders. You guys are .500 in your last 10.

I don't think it's time to get all Kevin Smith on us.

I can't wait until he's a full-timer.

I might be over-reacting due to the negative atmosphere, but I'm sick of watching this team shit the bed against teams it should be skating circles around, especially when I'm shelling money out to do so. Maybe I'm expecting too much.

That sounds exactly like one interference call in particular that I remember from a month or so ago. Nikolai Kulemin stopped skating at the line so a teammate could skate the puck into the offensive zone onside, and he was called for interference after an opposing player skated right into his back.

I don't get this. I mean the caps were all fired up, but that doesn't guarantee a win. the coach has had how long with the team? a day? I hate standing up for the caps, but this just doesn't make sense. are they even running a new system yet? and if so it's not gonna click just like that.

I can see them getting hot just at the right time :/

Nah man, the Blues did it!

Off regular NHL topic, but why when you have injuries turned on for the NHL 12 for be a GM mode is there a key injury literally ever single game I play, it's like the players step out onto the ice and slip and break their neck, this is getting ridiculous and I'm starting to get really angry at this stupid game, I can't go three games (sim or playing) without some player getting injured for 3 weeks or so, I liked NHL 11 better. :/

No Wings (insert old age, hips breaking, etc..) but really it is pathetic at how I get an injury after every game I play, I want injuries on for the more realistic feel but this is so stupid how it is set up and I have no clue why they seemed to make them this frequent at all.

What's with your avatar (and Spire's)?

Also, whoo Kesler!

the off-topic? :lol

Ask Spire, he's the genius behind it.

@Sef, what do you want to see happen? Team looks so uninspired. I really think Trotzy needs to go finally. This team is going nowhere. Playoffs? Not this year.

Injuries are always a problem in franchises from what I've seen, it was even worse in Sega's 2K series..

I've only had a few injuries in my Leafs season thus far, and none actually taken in game. It's always "David Steckel injured his shoulder in training. Out 8 weeks."

Isn't there a injury frequency slider?

It was never like what I'm experiencing in NHL 08 up to 11. I thought it might have been a slider but it is just an on or off switch for injuries which is puzzling, maybe they will die down as the season goes on here.
