you're like a Labrador in human form, birdie. Either slobbering all over something unconditionally or growling in defence mode at anyone disliking your chosen masters.

I'm sure he's not talentless, as there are some panels in FF #12 that work alright, but when every single face in the issue is off model and wrong looking, he's handed in some fucking shite work and deserves to be called on it. Those image examples arent a question of style, theyre basic fucking terrible facial anatomy. They all look like trolls.

Anyway, I'm done with the book since it no longer has any eyecandy and has also been kneecapped by Marvel jamming the reset button on Johnny's death so here come the Fantastic Four again.

Just give me more Uncanny X-Force please so I can forget the rest of shitty Marvel exists.

Fucking shameful. Seriously.
His art or Marvel paying him to put it in comics?

Either way I agree. :P

There's good Marvel still! :( Spider Island was a good story imo. I'm also impressed with the CrossGen reboots. They've all been well done miniseries. I also like New Avengers and recommend looking at that.

Yesterday was a great comic day.

High school bully tries to take on Malcolm Dragon. Then Overlord confronts Malcolm with poor negotiation skills. LOL LOL LOL

Spaceman #2 is rolling. Now that I'm prepared for the cadence and language of Azarello's crazy future world.

I'm still trying to unload some hardcovers, and them there Japanese funnybooks:

Black Jack 3 by Osamu Tezuka (2009, Paperback)
No. 5 by Taiyo Matsumoto (2002, Paperback)
Loveless: A Kin of Homecoming by Marcelo Frusin and Brian Azzarello
Justice Society of America Thy Kingdom Come 1
Justice Society of America Thy Kingdom Come 2
Justice Society of America Thy Kingdom Come 3
Shazam the Monster Society of Evil
Defenders: Indefensible by Keith Giffen
Avengers The Initiative 1
Cover Girl by Andrew Cosby and Kevin Church
Seconding the Savage Dragon love. Thanks TTOB for getting me to pick this series up again! Got outbid on Avengers but I'll keep an eye on it and try to snipe.

Ah yeah, to be fair its got me reading Amazing regularly now, since it was so good, but on such a mammoth ongoing theres dips and falls where I'll come back and then go away again. Vulture story currently is kinda eh, but we'll see.

Uncanny X-Force however has just killed it on its entire run. I pray it continues.

Helloooo Comics-GAF,

I got a friend for secret Santa that is really into batman and comic books. I don't know if he has any a collection of graphic novels, but I know he has a subscription to the latest batman series.

I was thinking of getting him the Batman Noel, unless there are other things that are recommended.

Wanna spend around 15-20 dollars.

Noel is a good call. Fits the season for sure! Another good call for recent Batmang would be Batman Reborn. Collects Batman & Robin 1-6, which were amazing. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1401229875/?tag=neogaf0e-20

This. And a little older and increasing the "already got it" factor just a bit, is the excellent Detective Comics run by Scott Snyder and two amazing artists, Jock & Franchesco Francavilla, Black Mirror. The definitive Dick Grayson as Batman story.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/140123206X/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Just under $20 for the hardcover and complete run.

Marvel are kind of rolling out their digital stuff on a book by book basis. I think that Fantastic Four and FF went digital starting with 600 the other week (which is a teeeeerrible place to start reading). The Ultimate books are all day and date, as are the X-Men books. Don't think Spidey is yet, nor is Daredevil. No idea about the others I'm afraid.

I think by this time next year everything will be available, but right now it's a little patchy. Still, there is a lot more available now than even 2 months ago, it's ramping up fast.

Dark Horse have a lot of stuff in digital (apart from the Buffy stuff), but they have their own app.

Well as someone posted before, Marvel won't be going all digital until 2012, but Avenging spider-man which just had a number 1 a few weeks ago is digital if you can find that. It's basically marvel team up featuring spider man, I really thought it was great fun and the art was nice as well. I think that's the first marvel title that is day and date digital

As far as the Thunderbolts go, you may want to go and get the trades of Jeff Parker's run which is ongoing and starts at #138. Him and Kev Walker are doing some great stuff on their run so far

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm just going to wait on Marvel. I may pick up the Thunderbolts trades by Jeff Parker and Avenging Spiderman. I also grabbed the Dark Horse App and will take a look around that.

Those Thundiebolts trades are highly recommended.

one of the best batman stories of the last ten years (at least the first half of the trade)

Just checking in. Is Peter Parker back yet? For that matter, is the NuDCU over yet?

No, and stop trolling. Peter Parker is pretty damn dead and his replacement isn't even through the first arc yet (and it's good). And the New 52 is the best thing to happen to DC in like 20 years. Come back in 5 years, try again.

btw, to those interested (probably just Benjamin) I checked out the DC Universe Legacies series very briefly - the Wiki lied and Walt Simonson wasn't inking Frank Quitely. But then again, issue 8 does have a neat looking 8-pager by Quitely with New Gods goodness. TBH, anyone that wants a concise and fairly well done history of DC could do much worse than checking this new hardcover out.

I know this is OT, but I'm watching Justice League Unlimited for the first time. Holy fuck! This is what the first three seasons should have been. Lots of character interaction and development. They really opened up the DC Universe in these two seasons. Just finished the two episodes with Kronos, I was smiling the whole time.

You havent even gotten to the good episodes yet!

I read FF 12 on the bus this morning and it was fucking awesome. After all the hysterics and name calling regarding the art style I was expecting something hideous but it was great stuff. Yeah, there were a few wonky panels, but there were way more great ones. The body language and the feeling of scale and movement were fantastic, and Bobillo gets the kids just right. I think I prefer a good cartoon style over a photorealistic style every day of the week.

So yeah, I'll stand on the side of 'not hack', since I really enjoyed it. You haters be crazy and overly vitriolic. It's comics, chill.

No, and Peter Parker's death may have been the saving grace of the Ultimate Universe readership so undoing that would probably be the death of the line.

Did they send you a redrawn copy due to public outcry? ;)

No, I just have great taste!

It's good. That page where Val has the lightsabre is great. The bug eyes and the melty-faced Reed are abberations. And as mentioned above, it has a real JRJR feel to it and a dynamicism that comes from there.

Might have saved it, but let's be real the new ult spidey didn't really get going until an issue or two ago

I recently purchased Milk and Cheese: Dairy Products Gone Bad which compiles all the Milk and Cheese comics plus assorted extras like the board game published in Wizard: The Comics Magazine.

It is an awesome compilation. Plus, one is a carton of hate and the other is a wedge of spite.

The best is yet to come, but I loved the Kronos episodes, too. As far as JLU quality goes, though, your mind is about to get FUCKING BLOWN.

I thought the last two issues were boring... or maybe I'm just upset because spider-man isn't wearing the costume on the cover.

I don't really care about the whole suit thing, especially because those covers are fucking hideous, but I've enjoyed all the stuff at his new school.

Thanks for the help! I found Noel pretty easily at a brick and mortar Books A Million and settled with that. Black Mirror was the other one I found too, but it was a tad out of my price range.

So I've only been reading and buying comics for a few months now but I recently found my old library card while I was cleaning out my desk. I set it aside and went to the library's online catalog and...

jackpot.

Don't know why it had never occurred to me before.
