The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

Yup, HMV definitely seems much cheaper than importers, but I'm still sticking with P-A and UPS for delivery...no way I'd use anything other than Fedex or UPS during this time of year. Would like to see confirmation that they'll have units in stock and that they won't be sending out messages stating that they won't ship outside of Japan later on.

I find it kind of suspicious that they still have stock, considering the HK HMV site and Sony Style HK sold out within hours. If there's a rash of last minute cancellations I'd be very disappointed, so sticking with my current preorder even with the premium.

I caved in and pre ordered on HMV co jp, and cancelled my order on Nin nin game. Still suspicious about the stocks too, but hey, a Gaffer said the page before that if it's out of stock, it will say so.

Hoping this will go through, but annoying, impossible to get a memory card, it says "Embargoed item".......

Hopefully, they got some real stock, or else the price should decrease within a few days on Play Asia.

Do we have any US release dates on the memory cards? I ordered my Vita from Amazon with release date delivery but Im going to need a card on launch day too. I guess Ill have to get one at Gamestop unless they hit store a few days early.
Well, if it's the same as in Japan, the memory card's release date will be the same as the system's.
I'm going to be there 9 days will amazon comply with the order sooner than that?
Shouldn't be a problem (my longest order took about 4 days afair), but if the price difference isn't that important to you, I'd check in the stores first.
I'll surely visit some of them in the beginning of January, so I can report on Vita post-release availability here.

Preordered at HMV. I hope I won't regret about this. I have to remember to buy a power plug adapter.

At least is a luck that I hape a japanese coworker that will help me to configure the language the first time.

Can it not charge through USB? PSP-2000/3000/Go did, so I figure the Vita would, as well.

Tons of new screen from WipeOut 2048, Little Deviants, LittleBigPlanet, and Escape Plan.

Here are some of them. Can't post them all as it is around 70+ in total.

Take it with a grain of salt, since the source is obviously unofficial, and I'm not sure myself about its reliability. However, since it's the first time I can contribute properly with some new Vita info, I've decided to share it.

This should be the PAL Vita packaging:

Mediamarkt? Boxes seem small.

Can't see the sides but it's odd that they don't have a picture of the system on the front. Not that it really matters to me.

Edit: Maybe the above is packaging for the pre-release bundle.

If I import a PSVITA now will I be able to link to my psn account and download my psp titles to it? It would help to know I'd have that to fall back on if I coupled it with Uncharted and found it didn't have any English options.

Yes, you should. This is why PSP users are complaining(warranted) about the last firmware (4.00) messing up with the way PSP games were transferred over to a PSP from a PS3, it's all done because of Vita releasing in about 13 days.

Regarding the box size, the ones in Japanese stores, which match that final design are also pretty small.

Golden Abyss seems to be in English, at least if you get the Asian copy. The Japanese one's a crapshoot, though apparently previous UC games have had English on the Japanese release.

I doubt it, doesn't seem very likely that they wouldn't put a picture of the handheld on the cover.

I understand that affects transfer from ps3 to psp but I should still be fine using mediago on the PC to transfer, right? I'm not sure I'm understanding you.

Basically the way it used to work was that you would install you games on PS3 and store it there and then transfer it to a PSP with your account on it but since everything related to PS3-Vita or PC-Vita transfers is handled by the Vita, the last PS3 firmware made the PS3 Vita-ready as in you are not allowed to install a PSP/PS1 game on the PS3 and then transfer it out to a PSP. So to answer your previous question, yes your PS3 is Vita-ready and you will be able to transfer out all your PSP games to it when you import.

Um, u sure those aren't leaks of WipEout PS4?

Wipeout and LBP to me look the best, well that is of course we don't count Gravity Daze which I don't since it won't be there at launch.

Found a video of the opening night on Youtube if you're interested to see what it looks like

Uncharted tops Famitsu "Most Hyped Vita Game" Poll

Famitsu isn't a good barometer for what the general audience will want. HSG6, and Tales of Innocence R should be Vita's top sellers in the early lineup.

I fear for Gravity Daze.

Gravity'll be fine, it's launching in February, 2 months after launch. Ys is quite low though we don't have a release date for that yet. Im surprised at the no show from Dragon's Crown.

Nothing wrong with Uncha being on top.

My sentiments exactly. More Nate is always good :D.

I didn't mean it was undeserved, I'm just saying it won't be Vita's top seller. Of games with footage, HSG6, ToIR, P4: The Golden, and depending on how this goes, maybe Dynasty Warriors should claim the top.

True, though Uncharted 3 did surprisingly great in Japan just recently.

Virtua Tennis is also surprisingly low, at least to me, it's probably the best looking vita game at launch next to G.A. Japan doesn't like tennis or something?

I don't think Virtua Tennis 4 on PS3, and Wii sold well in Japan. A shame too, since the Vita version is a game that SEGA seems to have put a lot of effort in to.

So true, out of all the 3rd Party launch titles, it looked like it was the most polished.

I can't believe Ys is that low. I thought the PSP version was selling like 70,000 copies or so? (Which isn't great, but a lot of the stuff in front of it didn't sell any better)

Dynasty Warriors seems to have had effort put into it too, which for that franchise is incredibly surprising to me ...

As I said before, Famitsu readers don't equal the popular opinion in Japan.

Yeah, but if anything, you'd think they'd be more into more niche stuff like Ys than games with mainstream appeal.

I mean, it is a gaming magazine, I think. Not like USA Today or Time or Maxim.

Yeah, Wipeout 2048 looks awesome. I can't wait to be able to play the new zone mode with a pair of fat headphones.

Now I'm not so sure if I want to get in on the Vita day one or not =[

EDIT: Ys is a launch title for the Vita? So it will also be available Day 1 in the US as well or is that not how things work? I'm not sure if I could wait on a new Wipeout, Lumines, Uncharted, and Ys all at launch.

EDIT2: Wait, nm. I misread the article on the Famitsu rankings. Guess they were just referring to the top picks.
