:lol

I was about to say the same thing.

2 fumbles inside 5 yard line (both were great tackles by the Browns but I consider those fluke plays), our star and only qb gets serious injury after slanging it all over the Browns at the start of the 2nd quarter after a TD and 3 trips in the redzone. The fact we could beat them with a gimp qb was pretty impressive. We won't be able to beat real teams with a gimp qb but a win is a win and sometimes these kinds of wins are the most gratifying.

I get the QB thing (not everyone sits their best QB on the bench in order to keep them healthy) but how are fumbles some sort of excuse? Suck less next time.

The Cribbs hit was legal. (Actually, at the time, both hits were.) Also, show me the last time he did it this season please.

I know both hits were legal, although he ended up getting fined for the Massaquoi hit. I'm just pointing out that the dude likes to use his head as a weapon legally and illegally.

I hope he's done he fucking sucks. The whole offense is fucking pathetic. They need playmakers at every skill position on the offense. Hopefully Barkley declares and they can go QB, WR in the first round and get Barkley or RG3.

No way in heck does Holmgren go that way for our two first round picks. We're going to have to endure some more years of terrible offense while he tries to rebuild the D.

Both fumbles were perfect tackles by the Browns. The Browns are a horrible team but they hit harder than any other team we have played this year. They miss a lot of tackles but if they get a lick on you it seems to be a big one.

Still I consider fumbles to be a flukey thing. No excuse, but I think a lot of luck is involved in them.

Speaking of backup qb's. Ben is going to be in gimp mode for the next 3 weeks. Lend us one of your qb's. Doesn't matter which one, either is better than Charlie Batch.

The fumbles were ridiculous. The Steelers don't take the Browns seriously, which is stupid to do with any football team.

Other than that and the Ben injury it was mostly a good outing, but man, Kemoeatu is finished. 3 penalties in 5 minutes of play. Awful.

Also, i've checked out on Mendenhall. Not that he had a bad game, but it's clear to me that he's only running hard because Redman's there to take his spot.

Also, is it too early to say Antonio Brown > Wallace?

One thing this game proved to me is that we are fucked without Ben. This isn't the Steelers of old that could win by running. If Ben goes down....

Dude in Kemo's defense he was holding because his qb was a sitting duck. I have no problem with that. He is finished but I am sure the whole line was holding like mofo's for the entire time Ben came back.

Hines was not protecting the ball so I put that fumble on him and he been dropping balls and fumbling in the last year or so, but Heath was doing everything right but the hit was just perfect. Sometimes the other guy is better.

I won't make any judgments on Brown and Wallace, I think they both help each other by being on the field. But I have been burying Rashard all season. I am firmly on the Redman bandwagon. He just makes more guys miss and hits the holes harder. Mendy has always been and always will be inconsistent.

I've been saying this all year. Unless you are running a Go, Brown is better in every way. Still, the two of them together present a diverse and difficult to cover threat.

I just wish one more receiver would emerge as a constant threat. Sanders is injury prone, and until Ward gets his catches Cotchery isn't going to see regular playing time ahead of him.

Jared Allen trashes cities of Detroit and New Orleans

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen isn’t likely to get the warmest of receptions at Ford Field Sunday.

Especially after Allen had a few choice words for the city of Detroit in a recent radio interview on KFAN in Minneapolis.

“I don’t like going to Detroit,” Allen said, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “I’ll be honest. It’s gloomy, it sucks. Everything is brown and then there is snow on the ground. There’s like brownstones everywhere and I’m like, ‘Awesome.’ I don’t know, I couldn’t do it. If I had to live in Detroit, I think I’d just drown myself in the river that was across the way.

“I’m not trying to be mean but it’s just depressing when I go there. There’s two cities like I don’t go out to eat or don’t do anything. It’s Detroit and New Orleans. New Orleans looks like I’m driving through a third-world country. Every time I get off the plane, I’m like, ‘Oh, flak jacket.’ I’m trying to get down. I’m like, ‘Ah, crap, I can’t carry my gun here. This sucks.’”

Allen is second in the league in sacks with 14.5 and having one of his best seasons.

Stay classy Jared.

I have been pissed since day one that Cotchery is not on the field more. He is a real redzone thread (which we really need inside the 20). He would help us move the chains as well because he is a good possession and slot receiver.

I forget who it was but some Steelers fan gave me a lot of shit for pointing out that Hines Ward was beyond done and a liability at this point. I love Hines but he got where he was on merit and if playing time went on name recognition he never would have played a single down as a receiver. Sends a horrible message to the rest of the team that Hines is taking time from the other players when he is not producing.

I don't have a lot of hope that Tomlin will take his head out of his ass and put Cotchery there full time.

He wishes Minnesota had a city as interesting as our third world NOLA.

This hurts me to say because I despise absolutely everything about Minnesota...but the Twin Cities are fucking rad. Seriously, Minneapolis is a fantastic city. The only big city I have never been to for any length of time is NYC (its probably not fair to judge New York based solely on Shea, right?), and I put Minneapolis in my top 5 favorites.

The D is pretty decent. Could use another DE and a LB.

Agreed. And another corner. Sheldon Brown is garbage. They've had some really rough spots this year but they've also played very well at times. Actually more often than not they've played decent.

The offense has played decent pretty much zero times.

I really really really wanted to be patient with Colt and given our O-line problems and complete lack of any kind of offensive playmaker I think that's reasonable but I'm still starting to sway in the direction that he doesn't have "it".

As far as last nights game, I'm not even sure what to think. I was proud that we were hanging in there in a game everyone thought we'd get destroyed in but at the end the song remains the same = L.

You guys actually tackle. Browns were just going for kill shots all night. It was all or nothing.

Man I would not want to be you after the Steelers beat the mighty Niners with a gimp qb. Ben winning on one leg is going to make Alex look that much worse in comparison.

I'm really worried about the 49ers now.

With Ben injured, we'll only beat them by a touchdown instead of blowing their asses out by 20 like I wanted.

Why are you worried? I've always said that the Steelers should take a sledge hammer to Ben's knees and hands before every game. He always seems to put in his best work when really injured... he's probably going to put up 400+ yards and 5 touchdowns to win the game. Half of those being long rushing touchdowns.

I watched the whole game. The Steelers were in danger of losing even before Ben's fat got rolled on. If McCoy was a halfway decent QB this would've been over in the 2nd quarter.

I'm sure it is a NICE city as far as cities go, but New Orleans is a shell of a city. It is really the people and culture of this area that makes it what it is. As a functioning city it is a broken down dilapidated pile of shit. But I love the aged look of older cities. I would probably love Detroit. The glitzy look of new age cities is kind of boring to me.

Steelers were inside the 5 yard line 2x and fumbled both times and it was the Steelers that were the lucky team? The Browns were lucky not to be down 21-3 at halftime.

Packer fans should put down the Skyrim and maybe try watching the game.

I don't like kowtowing to Hines either. If he can't get regular passes, they shouldn't be forcing these garbage passes to him. His head obviously isn't in the game when he's not starting. Course, Heath fumbled just like Hines did, so I guess I shouldn't be too hard on him. But it seems like they're wasting plays just for Hines.

And I'd cut Kemo today.

If they want to get Hines his stats then blow out these shit teams with Cotchery on the field and put in Batch or whatever other scrub we have at backup and spam Hines with the short passes in the 4th quarter.

That is how Tomlin should have played this but for some reason Hines seems to be above the normal rules.

Really dude?

Really dude?

Actually I could probably argue that the Steeler fans were trying to save the kid from years of failure.

So Jared Allen hates cities with large black populations? Racist confirmed.

I can't trash Detroit, though. Have a lot of family that lives there and in Pontiac. Spent a lot of time up there during summers growing up.

Not willing to give credit to the Brownies at all are you? How about the 4 consecutive run stuffs within the 4 yard line by the Browns? No fumble there just good defense. McCoy had just as many opportunities that he squandered against a crappie D that he couldn't take advantage of because he's a joke of a QB. The game was close for good reason and the Browns could've won easily

I gave plenty of credit to the Browns (see earlier posts saying they hit us harder than any other team we played this year). I was just refuting your ridiculous point that the Steelers should have been blown out by the 2nd quarter. The stuff by the Browns on Mendenhall (giant vag) was in the 4th quarter.

McCoy had one opportunity in the first half and that was a replay of what the Steelers did. 3 runs which were ultimately short of the TD but somehow the Steelers D gets no credit for that?

Lets just agree that either you were talking out of your ass or didn't watch the game.

the thing that really bothers me about the passes being forced to Hines is that teams are cheating the screen now and playing him close.
The funny thing was that on the fumble that was the first time he broke some tackles and got some YAC in forever and yet it ends with him being careless with the ball and putting it on the ground inside the 10 yard line.

What are you arguing here? Browns would have won if not for their shit QB? Okay.

I vote the latter.

Looking back at some bits of the game this morning, the biggest thing that stuck out at me is how lucky the Steelers were that the Browns pass rush was and is horrendous.

Ben looked like an idiot out there, was just dinking and dunking and still made quite a few poor throws, and his pick was just terrible. You add in a competent rush and it would have been laughable. I pray Ben is still hurt and wants to maintain his look-at-me-i'm-so-tough persona, and Tomlin is stupid enough to let him against us next Monday.

WTF?

Just when I thought Legendary was going to win the prize for dumbest post of the week a Niners fan comes along and shows us how low the bar can go.

Neither team had a pass rush all night, but nice attempt to minimize what Ben did last night. No actually it was a pretty fucking horrible attempt. The Steelers had no backup and would have lost the game with Batch out there. Playing on literally one leg he still finished 17-22 for 280 yards 2 TDs and 1 INT. Those would be career numbers for a healthy Alex Smith and yet somehow it was a shitty game for a gimpy Ben?

Also Ben has a look at me I am so tough persona? WTF are you talking about?

I think he's saying Ben should dink and dunk with a shitty offense when he's fully healthy, just like Alexis.

I can't wait for the 49'ers-Steelers game, damn that's going to be a good one. It's a perfect opportunity for the 49'ers to prove they're legit and I hope they do.

What does neither team having a pass rush have to do with anything?

What does your backup sucking have to do with anything?

Cleveland has one of the worst pass rushes in the league. It doesn't matter if it's Ben or not, you go in front of almost any other team that gimped, that immobile, you'll get decimated.

And you seriously don't think Ben has that persona? This guy plays up every single injury he's ever had, and the Steelers and the media go along with it, every single time.

What are you arguing here? Browns would have won if not for their shit QB? Okay.

Sure.

On on end you have the supposed "best team in the AFC" (NOT saying that anyone in Steelers GAF has said that...I know bionic has said the opposite) . On the other you have the Browns. The fact that one of the worst QBs in the league was able to keep it close is worthy of some level of mockery even though I'm pouring it on a bit (I'm a dick, what can I say?). Division rival blah blah blah; the Packers embarassed the "new" (same old) Lions in their Stadium on Thanksgiving. No excuse

You love me, you really love me! Totally thought you would've went with me being an ass. Instead you're just accusing me of not watching the game. <3

I love how pissy Packer and Niner fans are over the Steelers. You guys should be worried about each other and your own conference, and in particular the Saints, before indulging headlong in your inferiority complexes.
