managed to get 4 total, 2 for me and 2 for a friend for the show in Tampa. it's playing at the IMAX theater in one of the museums here, pretty pumped for this.

So I'm reading the fine print of this ticket and it looks like no smart phones with camera/video functionality are permitted. I wonder how that will work.
Twas the same with TDK Prologue but there were some bouncer type dudes with IR glasses huffing and puffing infront of the queue and everyone took a few gulps and slid their smart/camera phones into their undies - no one was asked to leave their cellphones outside.

how long will this be?
It'll be too short and be over before you realise it. Then we'll have our armchair GAF editors bitching about the editing and how the inertia was "off" in a particular scene.

I thought about trying to grab a ticket, but I don't wanna drive out to Langley for six minutes. Me and my buddies are planning to go see MI4 and SH2 on the same day, so we'll probably catch it then or a hopefully good-quality bootleg (that I trust one of you amazing people will somehow get).

I don't have a printer, so I told them to e-mail me the voucher so I can print it later. It's taking awhile. How long did it take for everyone else?

Edit:Nevermind. I can reprint them if they don't email me.

Got passes for San Jose. I know need to convince a friend to ride with me. That's two hours of driving for six mins of film.

Don't forget to count the hours you have to wait in line.

What are the chances of anything special at these screenings? Director? Cast member(s)?

Or will we sit for 6 minutes, possibly see the new trailer, and go home happy?

Mission Impossible releases here on the 14th, which is the 13th in the U.S. Same date, only you get a bucketload of awesome with your 6 minute trailer replacement.

Hey buddy. I just want you to know, I booked normal digital tickets for Ghost Protocol next Friday. The timings for the IMAX screenings were shit, plus they are twice the ticket price.... for... shitty Digital fake IMAX. I have no 70mm IMAX in my country. I'm so sad now. I think I'm going to cry. :(

Ah, that sucks. So you'll miss the scope of the 70mm scenes, but I still think Digital Imax is pretty great when it comes to picture quality and sound. It's also the best option for 3D. :)

I saw Transformers 3 in Digital IMAX in 3D. It was fantastic. The glasses and projection were better than any other 3D experience I had.

But in the case of Ghost Protocol, the only Friday night "IMAX" screening is a midnight show. I don't want to see the movie THAT badly, and there's an earlier 9:30pm screening in the same cineplex on their biggest non-IMAX screen, in digital. The seats are great, the sound system is great, the screen is great. This is not a 3D movie. The tickets are half the price of the IMAX ones. I think I made the right decision here!

They give you a paper bag to put your phone (and ipod or anything else electronic basically) in with a ticket, and then after the screening you trade the ticket back in for your stuff.

Just make sure you see it in a true IMAX. Like Sydney's Darling Harbor IMAX aka the biggest screen in the world.

I think the IMAX at the Melbourne museum is a 'real' one, although I could be wrong.

I still can't get over how many people are lining up to spoil the movie for themselves, whilst I wish it wasn't even attached to my screening of Ghost Protocol.

Different opinions I guess. I hate spoilers for a movie I can't see or haven't seen.

Watching the actual first 5 minutes is not like reading the script or about the plot on paper.

Besides if its executed as well as the Bank Heist and has nothing really to do with the rest of the movie's plot then its not spoiling much of anything.

I feel the same way. There's no way I can understand being excited for spoilers. This is the kind of movie you should just see 1 trailer of, and then go in the theater once it's released and experience it all fresh.

Different strokes and all but if I went to see MI4 and they showed TDKR footage I'd honestly step out for 2-3 minutes and then come back in. It's that serious lol.

So how many NYC gaf-ers are going?

Close to 10-12?

Are you guys meeting up in advance? I have never met another GAF being.

I'll be there with a group of 3. If any NYC gaf members want to attend but didn't get a ticket, let me know. I'll probably have an extra since my girlfriend can no longer make it.
