BarFights | Fighting game event (SSFIV AE, UMvC3) | December 11

I can almost guarantee that Viscant was mashing side-S during any air combo.

I find it hard to believe no Ultimate Phoenix player doesn't already anticipate this. I wouldn't go for side exchange either.
No shit. But what would you rather deal with, regular phoenix with almost no health that you've gotta get in a little chip in order to turn dark? Or a 50/50 chance that you've picked the correct side to TAC on to essentially win you the match? DERP.

For someone with a Phoenix avatar, you might want to check your facts.

Actually nm let's play. Let's see you go for those 50/50's.

I have to say though. So far, besides Noel this has been unhype in terms of pop offs or anything else fun. Only the Clockwork fight was actually exciting.

A bunch of commercials and bullshit in between fights does not help either.

Your only TAC options against an aware Phoenix player are up or down, since they can hold left or right and it'll count for either side. Floe seemed to be doing enough damage to not need TACs, or just didn't want to do them. Either way, trying to steal meter from Phoenix was probably not an option. It would've been nice to see Floe try to get some meter with a downwards one though, but oh well.

Justin over Champ just on the basis that I think Justin internalizes the intracacies of a new game and finds effective tools much quicker than anyone else in the scene. He could totally go low tier and throw some games away though.

Left+S (or right+S) will counter any side exchange. There is no guess

edit: beaten be beef

I admittedly haven't been running Phoenix in Ultimate, so I should change it up. However, I just did a little research and I had no idea that the game didn't differentiate between sides. Whaaaaaat. -.-

...I should have an Ammy avatar, if anything. Hah.

Analyzing the play a bit more, Dahbomb is on the money as usual. Viscant's Doom is so fraudulent. He's Ultimate's Iron Man for him. I don't think he'll stick with him for long, and if he does, he's gonna need to *actually* work on his execution, rather than continue playing low execution characters with a high degree of consistency like he has forever.

Being a huge Viscant stan I am, kinda sad he was caught mashing sooo many times during that set. All from his Doom.

EDIT: *stream comes back up* *sexy Iron Fist combos*

BOOO THIS MAN!!!

Clockwork set was absolutely godlike. Also pops off aren't the main attraction, they are the side entertainment. The DiosX vs NoelBrown set was actually really good but a couple of reversals at the end made it more of a blow up than it actually was. It should've been like 5-3.

Floe vs Viscant was expected especially with that team composition.

Dormammu got ridiculous buffs and Champ has got a really solid one.

That said, I don't believe in the play of the rest of his team :p And Justin is Justin.

Totally dependent on how much work Champ's Dormammu does.

It's cool. You learned something today. ;)

15K viewers is honestly nuts. Gootecks knows how to put on an event.

I'm mad hyped to see Justin's Iron Fist if he is in fact going to be using him tonight. Iron Fist by far and large is my favorite character in this game, but he is beyond me. xD

Seeing him pull out f.H instead of standing H into the relaunch was hilarious.

I have absolutely no idea who will win between Champ and Justin, and I am excite.
Same..

I think Champ is more solid at this game from what little we've seen, only cause Wong has been in the lab forever. But I'm gonna go with Justin because of Justin Factor and out of respect if he decides to use IF.

YO I DIDNT EVEN KNOW YOU COULD COMBO AFTER WALLBOUNCE HYPER WTF.

IS THIS REAL LIFE?

Champ is not this free. Pull it together Champ.
