BarFights | Fighting game event (SSFIV AE, UMvC3) | December 11

Aside from the lame fake drama between unremarkable players, events like this are a great idea. It makes me wish there was a proper pro league for fighting games.

^This is exactly what Jago wanted. He's been talking about it for a while now. That the rivalries need to come back to make things more entertaining.
Honestly, Mike Ross's team is ass. It really is. The only symmetry is has is to get people off Storm's ass via Hulk assist. I don't care how much he was training; there's no way he could have gotten real team symmetry at that level within a couple weeks.

I agree. I really want to see those two play some extended matches before the game is "figured out". They seem to be the best at discovering new things and excelling early.

I don't what the crowd was thinking.

The crowd was salty about seeing Mike Ross lose to an east coast player and wanted someone to beat Jago.

I think I know why Gootecks did that. Even though I think it was dumb. In I Got Next Gootecks way soo salty over the way the EC vs. WC 5v5 went. I'm sure seeing Mike Ross getting 5-0'd together with the other EC vs. WC stuff that was going on earlier in the night made him want some sort of redemption.

Just finished watching the matches I missed, which was the four after Wong-Champ. Combo-MaRN and Jago-Ross went pretty much how I expected them to, but the two Knives matches were pretty good. Fanatiq-Clockw0rk was definitely my favorite match of the night by far.

And as people have said before, the whole situation after the Ross-Jago fight was just awkward. I can understand why Gootecks was trying to hype it up, and the crowd wanted to see it, but it was a bit too much.

Noel's blank expression after getting perfected was priceless.

Oh c'mon now, this is ridiculous. You know how long ago that was? Real talk: the EC vs. WC thing isn't as big as people online make it out to be, especially today.

From what we could see anyways, I put equal blame on Jago for not just playing the damn set to avoid this extended discussion and unhype despite it being potentially not entertaining (your not gonna lose or sully your sponsorship cause you didn't win a match against an EVO Top 4, come back down to earth), and Gootecks/the crowd for heckling. At one point someone screamed out something asking them to hurry the hell up, that's disrespectful, it ain't your event so stfu. With that precedence, I was surprised they even clapped for Jago at the end.

They shouldn't have done that match, even with Knives, but they had to or else with all the drama it would've ended on a very low note. They should've done Combo vs. Wong.

The next CC Live should be interesting.

Overall, very good event, and it's exemplary of why long sets in Marvel produce INFINITELY better viewing material. Respects to all the players for doing their thing.

After all is said and done, I think CLACKWERK's revival was the best part of this. Followed by Justin's dragon spirit mastery and Knives rocking what might be the best Sentinel.

Strider pixel comeback and Knives delayed assist call on Noel's Wesker XF were piff.

Ya at the end they had so many possible matches that would have been better to end the night on. They wouldn't have had the "EC v WC" hype but it would have been higher level play. Combofiend vs Viscant or JWong would have been ideal imo.

That clockw0rk match was also easily my favorite. Good to see Strider showing up in a couple matches last night.

For those asking about the Bar Fights archive, there is none available. You'll have to wait for an update from @gootecks - stay tuned

so is jago basically talking lots of shit in his videos and being a tool in a hope that it will get him a lot of attention and eventually some kindof deal like gootecks/mike ross have?

but the archives fersis posted work? or have they been taken down? I've only seen up to the Noel Dios fight.

Looks like they still work.

I went to bed after the Combofiend match started. I saw the first game, but it was so dull it didn't even register.

Overall, the event was fun, but some of the matches were a little too uneven to really be interesting. The last two specifically.

Gotta buy that dvd! smh
The event costs money and the stream was free so i dont see it as a bd thing to sell the DVD with some extras like a Mike Ross Wallpaper and stuff.

The archive isn't publicly available is the main point. If you know the links to the archive, you can still watch however. I already have it downloaded, so I'm good.

How do you do this, if you don't mind me asking. Going on a long flight soon and I wouldn't mind rewatching some archives.

Sorry if this has already been addressed before but I didn't see it in the OP.

I went to Spooky's channel but didn't find any vods, where are they ?

USD, can you provide a link for the SFxT matches please?
...and what DL speeds are you guys getting? Most I got was 12 KBPS when I tried various software =_=
