I just got home, anybody mind giving me a recap of what happened. I don't play Marvel or watch it much, but I see that's where all the drama(and focus) is. So without going through pages and pages to find bits and pieces of info, can someone let me know what went down?
I'm a bit tired, but this is what I remember.
Noel Brown vs. Dios X
- Dios got blown up, which led to Brown popping off and a bonus match later on.
Fanatiq vs. Clockw0rk
- Very close set with Fanatiq getting to 3-1 (or was it 3-2? Can't remember) very early on until Clock switched his team order from Strider on point to Doom. Clock then came all the way back.
Viscant vs. fLoE
- Floe showed signs of victory, but Viscant's Wesker game was too solid. Wesker + Dark Phoenix was too much for Floe, and Viscant bodied him.
Filipino Champ vs. Justin Wong
- AMAZING set which should be searched for immediately in the archives. Justin's Iron Fist/Storm/Akuma team steamrolled Champ due to Champ's inexperience against Iron Fist, and he got PERFECTED in one match. Extremely hype.
BONUS MATCH: Knives vs. Noel Brown
- After Brown's match he started talking all that good shit, and Knives challenged him to a $100 money match. Things looked bleak for knives at first, but Knives turned it around after one match and beasted on Brown. The crowd being into this one helped it a ton. After Brown lost the set, he said that the set "didn't count since it wasn't an official match."
Combofiend vs. MaRN
- Marn occasionally came close to winning during each match, but Combo was too much. Not only did Combo go 5-0, but the set-ending move was a BIONIC ARRRRRRRRRM.
Mike Ross vs. Jago
- The main event, as hyped as the crowd was, was a bit of a letdown for the West Coast. Ross was playing like doo-doo and got exposed like he was on Jerry Springer. Afterwards, the crowd was so salty, people were demanding Jago's head and demanded he play Combofiend for redemption. Jago declined, saying that he showed up to play Ross - and he did - and had no intention of playing anybody else. After about 15 minutes of talking, everyone finally reached a compromise and Jago played Knives.
BONUS MATCH: Knives vs. Jago
- Jago's team was on point here, and he was able to shut down a lot of Knives' offense. Knives started making a comeback, but dropped combos ended up losing him the set.
