Monado needs them too. And googly eyes
I'm lazy.

Other than selling out its admittedly small first shipment (though we don't know that exact number either. ~60k in France and ~30k in the UK with every other country most likely getting fewer than the UK), NoE hasn't said a peep about its sales (which typically isn't a good thing). I imagine it did better than expected but still not great. Is there any info about this?
The fact that somebody at NoA decided to bring the game to NTSC-U land is maybe motivated by the sales of XC in Europe.
They might do some work on the in-game text but I doubt they are going to re-dub the game.
Well I was wrong about it coming over stateside so I could be wrong about that too. I suppose there has to be some legitimate reason as to why it's not coming out till April.Booooo!

If the alternative was a Photoshop collage like, say, many of the recent DQ covers here then I'd rather just keep it the same. Using one of those alternative European covers that was voted on would've been nice though.I've never seen the Japanese boxart until now and you are indeed correct. That's kinda saddening to me.
Rare doesn't work for Nintendo anymoreAnd googly eyes
This rumored information comes from a source that would like to remain anonymous...
- GameStop reached out to Nintendo to get Xenoblade Chronicles released in the states
- GameStop is helping to pay for publishing
- Nintendo is interested in localizing The Last Story as well
- This localization depends on sales of Xenoblade Chronicles preorders/sales
- Xenoblade Chronicles preorders are not doing well thus far

MAYBE you should advertise the fucking game, Nintendo, don't you think!?
They have so much faith for this game, GameStop has to pay for the publishing, for God's sake. Which is most likely why they have exclusive distribution rights. (WHICH WON'T HELP AT ALL, BTW, NINTENDO!)
And if the pre-orders are so bad, it's either because, like I said, you're not advertising shit, or everybody is waiting to pre-order on YOUR site, but we can't until the 19th.
JESUS CHRIST.

Their plan is to fail?
I love the fact that someone within NoA clearly agrees that the "Chronicles" bit was unnecessary.
I think they're married to the title because it's on the title screen of the NoE version, and that's the name under which it received buzz.... but this tiny font on "Chronicles" demotes its importance quite a bit.
I imagine some marketting exec thought Xenoblade was too plain or something. In that case I would've been clever and called it "Xenoblade: Beginning of the World". Throw the old subtitle on the new name, and it leaves more of an impression than throwing a fairly generic Chronicles on there.Yeah I don't really get the point of chronicles. Glad NoA's downplaying that.
By the way: Note the french on the ESRB rating. Definitely coming to Canada. (I know Nintendo of Canada confirmed it, but it seems some doubt was introduced on the last page?)

Thank you my fine friend, exactly what I was looking to know.

Xenoblade sounds like an action game.
Chronicles says "HEY RPG HERE"

No, then it would be

This is clearly bogus as GameStop is not in the business of selling new games and I'm pretty sure they're not in the business of publishing games. From that Nintendo site that starts with GO.
North American logo is super sexay.
First, maybe get a more solid source than a doubtful rumor on a banned site before getting worked up? This rumor just sounds like message board speculation collected into one post. From that Nintendo site that starts with GO.

Shirley, you can't be serious. It would be convenient for them if it fails. The game's failure justifies their reluctance to release the game in America to begin with and gives them a reason to pass on The Last Story and any other game they don't want to localize.
There are some minor composition differences (I think the European one added more clouds or something) but the assests are the same, I've not looked at which the America box resembles more. DQVI is another example (talking EU and JP here) or DQIX (US and EU).Which was also the Japanese cover.

Ah, first time I've noticed this. Good eye. Indeed, there is a difference in the clouds between the JP and EU covers (a bit whiter along the horizon with the latter, and indeed, more of them added along the top; generally, the colors in the EU one seem brighter). Based on this, the US cover is definitely based on the modifications made with the EU cover. There are some minor composition differences (I think the European one added more clouds or something) but the assests are the same, I've not looked at which the America box resembles more. It won't tank. There's no localization cost (already done) and they're not even shipping it out to every retailer out there. This is not a case where you can point at a number and shit a lame BOMBA meme out, because it's being treated as a niche release and pretty much whatever they sell should be okay for their expectations. The only thing that can happens is that their (low) expectations are shattered. Can't wait for Nintendo to blame the consumers when this thing tanks!
