The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) - No Riddler

Too tired and sleepy but OMG OMG OMG so awesome!

I so want to see this again and will on Fri night before MI4.

The music was so godly....the chanting when
Bane says "the fire rises"

Bane was a little difficult to understand.

Also
unlike the prologue for TDK, this doesn't seem like the exact opening for the movie...I mean the movie can't start with Gordon giving a 2 second speech and then fast forward 8 years. Plus no context as to who the Dr. is....I only knew of him because of the viral marketing CIA documents about him that were posted in this thread a week ago. Movie probably starts with the plane sequence but with more context added up front.

I very much doubt your last paragraph. The funeral is to remind people about who Harvey was and what he stood for when Bane later uses it to forward his cause. I liked it.

As did
his henchmen. I didn't get what he was doing with the blood. Only answer if its a non spoiler answer!

He was creating a decoy. A dead body was brought on board. The doctor's blood was being transfused in the dead body so when the plane crashes and burns, blood test will 'confirm' that "the doctor died" when clearly he didn't. Something like that I suppose.

Movie begins with the end of Dent's funeral (carried over from TDK's end) and then right away transitions to some field where the Dr. is being secured by the CIA? I don't think its the exact opening...missing some scenes of context.

Gotta be honest here, that was uninteresting crap. Really not worthy of getting the same treatment as TDK's opening scene.

This is probably the most obvious defense imaginable, but I think it's especially true in a scene that relies so heavily on practical effects like this, but watching the bootleg really, really didn't do it justice, I'd imagine.

Disagree completely. Feels much bigger in scope and sold me on Bane completely. Seems like he's going to have much more purpose than the Joker did, and I dig that.

That's going by spoilers and stuff, too, so maybe that affected my appreciation of it.

I did watch the blurry mess, quite simply nothing happened.

Its definitely not as exciting as the TDK prologue, but it does hint to a much larger scale than TDK. Its definitely sold me on Tom Hardy as Bane.

It was good. Nice seeing the guy from not sure if the wire in it. That montage had has me more hyped then the actual footage that I seen.

Hahaahahahaha there's this student I occasionally have classes with at my university that has a voice very similar to Bane's. I forgot what country he's from.

Just remember, we also have a new trailer coming at the end of the week. If the sizzle reel is any indication, then it should be pretty awesome.

Tom Hardy sells Bane and the mask 100%.

Stupid theatre had way too much bass--that's the only thing that made it hard for me to understand Bane. It better not be the mix, they had the same kinda problems with Inception.
Still not sold on Catwoman but was kinda feeling her in those two scenes. Selina looked a little "off".

I am PRAYING for amazing action. That follow show of Bane to Batman, who doesn't hesitate to swing at him, was great.

I did watch the blurry mess, quite simply nothing happened. They board a plane...then they jump out of a plane...and uh...ok.

yeah, you can't actually see shit in that blurry video.

sometimes you can still pick up; other things you can't. like
Bane ripping off his bindings and punching Carcetti to the other end of the plane, then casually hanging off a seat as the plane is vertical. Bane casually dodging bullets. Telling his comrade to basically sit down and die for his plan to succeed, and the guy is like "sure, no problem. anything for you, Bane." or the plane holding onto the other plane dropping a dead body, and doing a blood transfusion on the bottom vertical plane. And then he jumps out out the bottom/back/top of the vertical bottle plane, similar to Batman's Lau extraction. The bottom plane will crash and all passengers will be assumed dead.

It's not as good as The Dark Knight intro, but it does a great job at showing who Bane is.

I want more shots of Bane just standing around looking awesome.

He can stand outside a McDonalds and look like a badass.

Just a rough estimate on how much detail the blurry mess is missing:

The bootleg really reminded me of old bond movies. I kind of like it, the way it cuts to middle bits. No doubt the original is great too. But the Way you estimate it seems there's lots of wasted space in the original.

Jett. A much
larger plane just captured a mid sized plane and destroyed it airborne. It's like watching a hawk catching and eating a bat right in the air if you've ever watched Planet Earth. Except these are enormous vehicles.

Bane definitely shows attributes of Ra's Al Ghul. Calm, wise and formidable as fuck. But you can sense there is much more to fear in him. This guy is a fucking monster.

Now I want Bane outside of a McDonalds. Wish they had the trailer afterwards. It was funny they had someone outside the theater asking how was it.

Those shots in Imax looked so fucking good too.

Just a rough estimate of how much brightness/contrast the blurry mess is lacking.

The mask/surrounding in this scene was VERY visible and VERY menacing. It doesn't look menacing in still images but on scene it was amazing.

Also, the fields and the aerial scenes were BEAUTIFUL with great contrast. This shows nothing in compared to what it actually is.

Without spoiling anything, the jump from the first scene to the second scene of the prologue in IMAX was a giant "FUCK!" reaction. It's like turning on a light bulb. Suddenly you wish everything was shot in IMAX.
