Caterer dropping something and Joker wanting to remain sober but silly while he's out doing work, naturally. It's like Bruce faking being drunk to the extreeeeme.

Your other points are valid, though.

They just seemed like deliberate choices to me. Like here preferred the more organic shots they captured. There's almost never a single take. He chose those. Wisely? Not sure, but they felt natural and real enough to me, for what they were.

Joker does it because he doesn't give a fuck. Bruce does it because he won't put unhealthy things into his body.
 
Eh, no, not convinced. It just looked to me like a mistake in an otherwise excellent take of that particular shot, so they kept it.

But regardless, it was funny, so it's not a big deal to me compared to the rest of the things I mentioned.

I always viewed it as a slight nod to him being in more control than his personality would lead you to believe. There are tons of other points that show that in TDK, so why not have that be one as well.

And it made me laugh, so whatever.

People think Heath Ledger didn't intentionally grab the champagne in a really sloppy manner and spill it? That's just silly.

Yup. I felt it. This guy snatched that glass and right after the liquid is tossed out you see it in him. ''Oh shit, that wasn't supposed to happen--fuck that it's working hey you remind me of my dad bro''

Oh, wow. I misread it and thought he was wondering about why he did it.

Yeah, it was purposely done and the tray dropping likely was as well.

Yeah, that's just how I viewed it. Not saying it's the 100% for sure way to view it. But we all do agree it was on purpose, that's all that matters. The hive mind has spoken.
 
The Joker spills that champagne and "drinks" it because it makes no sense and that's exactly why it makes sense.

It's all chaos all the time. It's not just limited to blowing up hospitals.
 
You can try to imbue that particular action with meaning or purpose, but it just seemed unintentional to me. He tried to drink from the empty glass, like it was still part of the rehearsed choreography, like he thought "i should just carry on with this even though I messed up", like many actors do. There's no intentional, planned humor in it, in my eyes.

But hey, I'd like to be wrong. Any word from Nolan or Hea...let's not go there. Any word from Nolan on that?

The TDK Boat stuff is the most awful stuff that Nolan has ever committed to screen.

But that Joker empty glass bit is brilliant, no matter how it came about :P

Well, he was hoping Batman would run him over earlier in the movie. And he got himself intentionally caught right after, so...

You're giving too little credit to filmmakers with the way you're viewing the party scene.

No, I'm going to tell you that like the spilled champagne, all of this also happened on purpose though. Bale didn't accidently throw Ledger off a building, then catch him with a fucking magic bat rope, and then later Nolan decided to use it in the film. Which is what you were saying before.

Still upset the trailer doesn't use the riot or Bane/Cowl money shots from the prologue teaser.

Why hold those only for the 18 IMAX theaters in the world? Why leave so little for the rest of us? :(
 
Are people seriously calling Nolan into question?

I guarantee there are peeps among their ranks that defended Transformers 3 while wondering if TDKR will "suck".

lmao @ the football scene. Looked like something out of a Bay film. That plus two cheesy looking villains=ehhhh. I shouldn't doubt Nolan after Inception but just about everything I've seen and heard about this movie sounds very cheesy.

When does the HD trailer drop?
