The anime only exists to promote the cards, so if they didn't sell the cards, why would they air the anime?
Didn't people already line up before for the preorder? So there wouldn't be as many people waiting this time?

Update on the semi-region-locking situation, FWIW:
I asked Mr. Yoshida about the one-account thing and then clarified that I do indeed have multiple accounts. Sequence of tweets after the initial ones:

Dunan - you should have a look at the manual and see what you can take from it:

It's not much of a surprise that you can't access the JPN store from an American account, for example - you can't even do that on PS3.
But based on my read of the manual, you should be able to change accounts on your Vita, and it should be faster if you use multiple memory cards. You'll have to restore the system to factory settings though - but I don't think you have to format any cards. The manual talks about your Vita being linked to one PSN account at a time, and your memory card being linked to one PSN account at a time, and how the Vita will only recognise cards linked to the same account its linked to. But you can change the account your Vita is linked to via the system restore, and the manual talks about that process erasing the internal OS memory, but doesn't mention your memory card.
People will be able to totally confirm what the story is once they have it, though.

I don't think 8-4 is doing a live podcast but Red Sun Gamer is doing a live stream of the Vita launch. Check their twitter account.
Depends what you're referring to?
Based on the manual I think there's two ways to switch accounts.
Let's say your Vita is set up with Account A and you want to switch to Account B
If you have ONE memory card:
Go to settings -> Restore system -> Set up with Account B -> Go to Content Management app -> Restore Account B content
If you have TWO memory cards (one for Account A, one for Account B)
Remove memory card -> Go to settings -> Restore system -> Set up with Account B -> Insert Account B card
So basically with multiple cards the process will be faster.
(That's assuming what's suggested in the manual is the case...I guess we'll find out.)
