I come home and Solo is still on his 4 year long quest to tell us how bad TDK is.

What? It hasn't been 4 years since The Dark Knight alre...

...

HOW!? For me it feels like it was last year!

For me, it was Tuesday.

Seriously, it was Tuesday. I got that early IMAX tickets from the final TDK viral hunt. Best ARG gift ever.

- Joker robs a bank and kills his crew and a mafioso. We discover that the Joker is insane, has a flair for the theatrical, is a pathological liar, and thrives on chaos.
- Joker interrupts a mob meeting and suggests murdering Batman. We discover that the Joker is insane, has a flair for the theatrical, is a pathological liar, and thrives on chaos. Again.
- Joker kills a Batman wannabe and hangs him from the mayor's office (and, for maximum combo points, manages to have him land perfectly in front of the mayor's window when he happens to be staring out of it). We discover that the Joker is insane, has a flair for the theatrical, is a pathological liar, and thrives on chaos. Uh huh.
- Joker puts bombs on Rachel and Harvey and gives Batman the addresses of where they are, but in reverse order. Batman goes for Rachel and ends up getting Harvey. Rachel dies. We discover that the Joker is insane, has a flair for the theatrical, is a pathological liar, and thrives on chaos. You don't say?
- Joker blows up a hospital and manipulates Dent. We discover that the Joker is insane, has a flair for the theatrical, is a pathological liar, and thrives on chaos. Yeah, I get it.
-etc.

Did we really need yet another scene to show all this about the Joker? At least the Rachel/Harvey scenes and the hospital scene were nicely conceived and executed.

With each successive plot he pulls off the movie becomes less and less believable (insert "believability? in a move about a man dressed as a bat?" comment here). There is suspension of disbelief, and then there is ignorance of it. Every single one of his plans hangs on so many little things he can't possibly control going perfectly right, and somehow they always do (aside from the ferry). We are told he is a "dog chasing cars" when in fact he has to be an intellectual giant with a horse shoe the size of the planet Krypton shoved up his ass in order to mastermind the shit he does in this movie.

So let me get this straight.
1. Lying to and conning greedy thieves
2. Interrupting a mob meeting strapped with grenades so they don't kill you.
3. Hanging a corpse off a municipal building
4. Lying about the hostages situation and locations
5. Blowing up a hospital and manipulating an already traumatized dent

All of those things required massive intellect to pull off? Seriously?
Nothing in the film ever made me think that "wow" the joker is a genius and I find it interesting that you feel that he needed to be for those events to go down.

Would you take Bale over Leo?

I didn't think so.

no but I'm warming up to him. When he doesn't speak in American accent he can be very expressive. Leo's a top dog though.

The only person I see dethroning all these fools is Fassbender (previously coulda been Ledger). He can be the next DDL.

I wouldn't say so. I didn't even like Shutter Island that much but he was great in that film.

The Fighter was impressive from Bale tho. I'd probably call it a tie.

What was the last role Bale was in where he was driven (or partly) driven to save his children? That's the main reason I couldn't see him as Cobb. Leo's saving (or trying to save) children left and right these days, so that's okay.

Seriously, seven more months of this thread is just fucking great. I was driving home for Christmas break all day and missed a potential stalker revealing himself to Solo and 1080p trailer bootlegs. Fucking technology. Is it 20,000 posts before the thread gets shut down and we have to move on?

Bale should have been in Titanic.

fire rises, dark knight rises, If I know Nolan he would pull switch on the viewers where Bane is seeing that Batman has retired for 7 years while the city plunges deep into corruption and thuggery and having both an admiration for Ra's Gul and Batman he dives into the the city taking advantage of the corruption and creates complete havoc over Gotham. Only this would bring about the Rise of Batman again and nothing else. The City will be collapsing and they will chant for the rise of Batman to save them again, leaving them the Dark Knight as their savior while forgetting the White Knight Dent who died 7 years ago but his legacy was not working to save the city. The chants are for Fire Rising like Bane says but he WANTS Batman to Rise up against him, he knows he is the villain and only Batman can destroy him and become the protector of the city

Saw that prologue and sweet mary and joseph the bass in that Bane theme is sent straight from the G.O.D. himself. God like. Instantly gets you into the movie. And the prologue of course, was god damn insane. I couldn't hear Bane say literally more than two lines but I didn't care, because holy fuck. Sold. SOLD.

I guess I can watch this trailer now since we didn't get any with our showing. The sizzle reel was swagged out though, as the gif I've seen in this thread a few times shows. This movie is gonna be fucking DARK, guys. Ya'll be begging for some cracked up humorous lines like NO MORE DEAD COPS when this shit is going down, I can tell. Bane is gonna anally violate Gotham, it's gonna be ugly. I can't wait for this shit. And looking back at all TDK promos, they still never showed any of the shit that happened in the 3rd act. I can't imagine what this movie is holding back, because holy fuck.

Habs are shit.

Solo has a stalker?

Saw the prologue in front of Ghost Protocol tonight. Other than Gary Oldman, I couldn't understand a word anyone said.

Why in the fuck did Bane give that dude a blood transfusion? Why was there a fucking hovercar in the "sizzle reel"? Batman with a gun?

I really hope they take care of everything in post. Not just the voices. Everything.
fucking hovercars? really?

Nope
We already know in the period Batman is gone Gotham has become peaceful

The prologue very much came across like they tested the mix on ne system and sent the prints out to the theaters or something. There is no way it's intentional as is. I'm a guy who think the ragging on Saito in Inception is overblown and I still couldn't hear almost anything Bane had to say.

I guess you needed to be shown that the joker was a patholical liar one more time. Why do you except that he is a "dog chasing cars" when he is a known liar?

Except Solo doesn't enjoy and love TDK, and has to remind us every month (when he's not banned from asking for sammiches).

Anyways, sorry to break up Solo's monthly "Why you shouldn't like TDK" soapbox, time for more gifs!

Damn. None of the leaks i've seen look as good as this.

Yeah just because the joker said that doesn't make it true. He was just bullshitting Dent and i thought that was pretty obvious (and frankly i think that Dent didn't buy a lot of it either).

I'm re-watching TDK.
God it's hard not to feel sad about Heath in every scene he's in :( I really wanted to see him playing that role again.
