They didn't load the TDK trailer with crap like "From Christopher Nolan" or "Epic ......""Next Summer". It's the a sequel to the 3rd highest grossing film of all time, we know who the fuck made it and we know when it's coming out.

Yea, because that strategy didn't work for Avatar.

And when you compare the first looks we had at TDK vs TDKR..TDK wins. They didn't load the TDK trailer with crap like "From Christopher Nolan" or "Epic ......""Next Summer". It's the final film effect: movies historically get a boost at the box office when they're labeled as the "conclusion", "end", "grand finale" etc. Look to Revenge of the Sith, Return of the King, and Harry Potter 7.2 for examples.

What scenes from that trailer weren't in the movie?

and i said shots not scenes, the trailer was mostly made up of takes that didn't make the final cut.

TDKR's trailer is better than any of the BB or TDK ones, even with the football nonsense.

Man you got that kool-aid hooked straight into your veins. Actual content aside(which is iffy, frankly), this is a pretty poor trailer with all the GUNNA BE EPIC SON, NEXT SUMMER FOR REAL garbage.

So I just came back from MI:GP. The DKR trailer was :O-inducing, I got chills, I got goosebumps. Fuuuuuuuck, the wait is going to be brutal.

Honestly, it didn't really wow me either. I don't like movie trailers that are vague about what's actually going on in the movie, and with how Nolan likes to sort of reinvent his Batman villains to some extent, it's difficult to put your finger on exactly what Bane and Catwoman will be. It also didn't seem to do a very good job of conveying the fact that 8 whole years had passed, a fact that was made even worse by seeing the prologue which picks up with Gordon speaking at Dent's funeral.

I agree partly, but i think its a problem with WB protracting they're exposure of their Batman movies. Considering we got a teaser A YEAR in advance, and a theatrical trailer 6 months in advance I think we're still very much in the teasing stage. WB will hype all that narrative stuff in the theatrical trailers closer to release.

Considering Bale has grey hair in the trailer, I'd say that does just enough to say that time has passed.

Rewatching TDK's trailer, it's funny how little Harvey Dent is in it, yet he's the main protagonist.

Just got back from ghost protocol which was excellent. I really liked the TDKR segment though of course I had no idea what the hell was going on. Also I swear I couldn't understand more than 2 words Bane said.

football field looks out of place in a nolan batman film, never mind that it shows 1 guy vs the rest of the team. overall trailer seem to give off the vibe that it is one sequel too many or that nolan wants to do something different
tdkr = all out summer action flick
tdk = stylish crime caper
bb = super hero story

Honest to god, I lost my shit at the prologue because I thought Pearce was cameo-ing as a bodyguard behind Carcetti/Littlefinger. Upon seeing the second frame the guy was in, much closer up, I was immediately disappointed.

are we supposed to know that there's a time lapse or are you guys just assuming everybody knows all the spoilerz

I read it on the main description of the IMDB page. I didn't actually know until yesterday when I looked TDKR up after seeing the trailer before Sherlock Holmes. I apologize if it was spoilery, but it seemed like pretty common knowledge after it was right there on IMDB.

I'm still not sure how anyone can come to any real conclusions on that scene when we have no real context for it. It's just a snippet. We need both the build-up and the aftermath to make any real judgement there.

I guess you can think it looks like a silly special effect but remember that you are continuously re-watching the same few seconds of a bootleg. When you watch the movie, that scene will happen fairly quickly and will probably flow pretty smoothly with what comes before and after it.

Movies! How do they work?

Going to see SH2 tomorrow and post impressions of trailer then.

Hobbit trailer out even though movie might be delayed to 2013?

Anyone see SH2? Is it good?

I'm watching Batman Begins right now (it's on TV) and this thread made me think about that during Bruce's child scenes, lolol.

It's on TNT, isn't it? I'm re-watching it too. Damn, that scene where Wayne tells everybody to leave the party is awesome
