The FGC kinda screwed itself over a bit in regards to SF4 hype. People are too used to these huge events with international players, but this wasn't a sustainable model. So when big events happen and there are all kinds of gdlk US players but no international players, people are less hyped than they would be otherwise. Plus it seems that big events happen too often these days. I think the FGC should decide on 6 or so major majors a year and prioritize hyping those events up for months. That probably won't happen though since there's no overarching governing body and events are largely independent efforts.

I much prefer SF4 over Marvel, but the hype for SF4 is noticeably lower than it has been in the past and Marvel is the new shiny thing. People are just getting tired of SF4.

Pretty much, Marvel will never be the main game at EVO though, and people who believe this are insane. There are simply too many international viewers who only care about AE for this to happen, and to add to that AE was way more hype at EVO this year than Marvel was because people simply care more about beating international players than they do about beating each other in Marvel.

By that regard, KOF has the chance to get 2nd billing because of the large worldwide presence the game has from XIAN, Poongko, Fionel, UK/France scenes, Mexico, All of USA, Japan, and HK/China. Thats why I'm so hopeful that KOF gets on EVO, the worldwide stage will draw the international players of KOF to the us finally.

Unless US really picks up on KOF 13, it still won't do much - it has to have a really good presence in US first before the hype of matches with international players have any relevance.

I'm sure it will make it, but 2nd billing would be a stretch with so few people in the US being really interested in it. I think (and hope, because KOF is awesome) we will see it on the main stage at least though.

It defininately doesn't have capcom appeal but the numbers in entrants and viewers has steadily increased since release. How will it be able to get accepted more outside of an outside source really proping the game up a lot, because even if the patch made netcode godlike, that didn't do Blazblue any favors. I just hope KOF's crossover appeal with the SF crowd continues to grow.

Well the KOF13 demo doesn't let you do much, but whatevs, I just ordered it on amazon. This looks way too fun not to play even if I end up being ass at it.

I think a little bit of organization would go a long way. The pieces are already in place - numerous regional tournaments, recognized "championship" - but they aren't leveraged as part of a coherent whole.

Still wish that Tsubaki was used more in high level play though.

That and after so long I'm tired of Noel, just not a fan. Don't like Arakune either, but he is so fucked up I can't help but enjoy it when someone lands those gigantic ass combos.

Tsubaki is still not very good in CS2 is she?

Arakune was hilarious in CT, but I could handle his shit in CS1 since Bang was godlike and I just learned to rush him more often in general.

Tsubaki was kinda ass in CS and not much better in CS2. At no point have I seen the community really view her as legit. Damage out put was to low and the Charge time to upgrade her specials to long.

I haven't looked at the change list for Extend to be honest. I was going to just pick it up with Vita launch and if I felt like they finally made Tsubaki viable I was going to pick it up on X360 and PS3.
