I still don't understand the mentality behind not just sitting there and respectfully sitting through it though. Shows a lack of patience and a level of frustration I don't understand, maybe it's cause I've never had my emotions run that high with Marvel before. As I said, I'm not sure if chip alone would've killed him and Storm only had 1 meter. He's made worse comebacks on Guard Crushes.

Is there some sort of stigma against SNK games or something? Not sure why but I feel that there might be.

SNK doesn't even have a games division nowadays, all they kept a skeleton crew for KOFXIII console port while the main focus is now on pachislot. As stupid of mistakes SNK has made in the past, can't be helped nowadays since they don't have enough money to do anything now. If there's a game that def. needs some outside help from a league or something, its KOF.

edit: There's always been a stigma of being half assed street fighter wannabes back when the SNK and Capcom crews have at it at eachother which kept SNK games from being taken seriously, along with SNK's bankruptcy and CvS2's runaway success (which capcom got all the money from and not SNK) SRK was never kind to snk fans and ironically was part of the reason Dream Cancel was made in the first place. Looks like everyone's impressions turned around with KOF XIII after a LONG TIME but some animosity from both sides still remains.

I have no idea what pachislot is about, but it confuses the hell out of me. KOF would probably be the next best game for the big leagues to pick up if they can't get Capcom games.

MVC is a joke compared to SF4... i don't think I will ever understand the hype.

Street Fighter was boring from the start and I'll make sure to test it before I buy SFV next time. Mahvel is way more hype and I actually feel like I'm controlling a real character, not a damned tank like SF.

pachislot is basically the japan equivalent to slot machines, which has sort of been a lifeline for SNK.

overall yes, it'll need higher execution. Many characters have links(targetcombos) that lead to simple and damaging stuff however, so that + great fundamentals can still get you by and the game can still be extremely fun, but to do those crazy drive meter combos requires execution unrivaled by any other game.

You don't have to do long/hard combos to be able to enjoy the game, simple bnb and drive cancel combos can net you great damage for little effort.

Getting this quality would depend on the internet connection available at the venue. Hopefully EVO organizers keep that in mind when they select where to hold the tournament.

I keep telling people in threads you can't just kill off Capcom games and it seems this concept is far too hard to grasp it seems because apparently every game and every dev is of equal influence as Capcom in people's heads. In a perfect world perhaps.

Capcom does a fine job of killing games themselves, they don't need anyone's help with that. But really, I don't understand why you're speaking in absolutes either. Capcom loves to mess things up. If someone else were to get something right at the same time, there's no telling what could happen.

A small number may latch onto their new game since folks are looking for alternatives. I know I'm going back to BlazBlue at least. It is very different from KOF's legitimate chance at REALLY increasing their sales and hype.

You can get a decent amount of wins without godlike execution. Also KOF requires a different sort of execution then SF, less emphasis on 1f links, more on buffers.

As for Skullgirls, it's been built with netplay in mind, and using GGPO. I have no worries on that game's online.

What people have to realize is that streaming quality is highly dependent on quality and speed of internet. You need great upload speed in order to send out a stream at a good resolution at a high frame rate and a high bit rate. Tournaments are held almost exclusively in hotels and the like, and hotel internet isn't of the utmost concern for the hotel business to thrive. Most hotels have decent or less than decent internet thus stream quality will be worse.

On the other hand, SCR is being held in a freakin university, and a very nice one at that. Being a school, having excellent internet is key, thus great stream quality. If you go to/have been to school, you should understand.
