Choujin Gakuen 1-9

Surprisingly entertaining, mainly due to the zany cast. Can't recall the last shounen series I read where the lead female has no sex appeal (and does most of the fighting).

Shaman King 39

Silva's line ("you must be that famous evil wife, Anna-chan") got me thinking, are Yoh and Anna actually a couple? The live together, she claims to be his fiancé, they seem always to be together, when Yoh doesn't fight, but they never actually said it. I don't know, it seems a bit weird after Naruto, OP and Bleach.

Since i got in trouble the last time i will just say keep reading

but if you really want to know

yep and the author will expand on why

Dragon Ball SD - Chapter 4

That was kind of different, I guess? It was way too abridged... Anyways, Boo to rule the world!

I wonder what the likelihood is that the average Shonen Jump reader even read Dragon Ball.

SD is serialized in the JUMP that aims children under 12, so none of them were even alive when they series was originally being serialized, haha. That said, Dragon Ball's anime productions still air on Japanese TV, and Kai only concluded earlier this year so I'm sure many know vague details about it.

Minamoto-kun Monogatari

This like the total opposite of TWGOk. Man,this is a guilty pleasure manga for me but the chapters are so short :(

Yeah I don't know how the author is getting away with 10 pages per chapter. It can't be that hard to come up with 8 more pages of aunt groping.

The thing about Itokoi Chidori is that you'll get more nudity out of an average chapter of To Love Ru Darkness. All the genitals are either blurred or censored out and dicks become invisible joysticks for the sake of propriety.

Just confirms that sometimes, less is more. If the less comes with lots of dicking.

Liar Game 142

Had to go back and reread the rules from the last chapter again, but I think I get what's going on now with the flow of money and how the trap works. Though with Harimoto (the old guy in the hat) still around, no way are things going to work out like Nao hopes.

Kurogane

Kamiya is a cool dude and his fight was alright. And next week's fight should be much better unless they overplay the injury aspect.

Asamiya-san no Imouto -

About a young girl with a sketchbook she inherited from her father, traveling through the countryside (in some vaguely Japanese futureland). Too early to tell whether it'll be good or not, but I liked it enough to keep reading once new chapters roll out.

Itokoi is way more graphic then TLRD. I don't really think I need to cover the "details" why. I'm not even sure about the nudity argument either.
Page 2 boobs.
Velvet Kiss is still the champ though with that
page 11 sex.
Page 13 reverse rape
though with Itokoi is a new one...

Anyway...

Here's a great shot to change the theme here a bit.

Yeah, she was pretty cool this chapter. Changes my opinion about her for the past few chapters.

BLAME vol 1

My kind of manga. Barely any dialogues, MC fighting random mechs and cyborgs, and some architecture porn here and there.

On a scale of 1-10 how :firehawk is this?

Medaka Box (Up to chapter 18)

Good lord, does the heavy handed evangelization of Medaka ever stop? I've gotten her perfection 7 times over now. I do appreciate that he didn't feel the need to make Zenkichi a complete bitch in the sake of a heavy handed contrasting. The series is in team building mode, it seems. I hope for this to end soon, and the premise to be set so I can get on with the good stuff.

It's the kind of premise which you're always waiting for it to be set, and you're waiting and waiting, and then at some point you realize it was clearly defined all along.

No one likes Medaka. The early chapters build up this resentment of her character, which is entirely intentional!

She's a very typical shounen hero, the fact that she's female and almost universally hated among the Medaka fanbase is interesting, intentional or not.

Pretty much. I mean, yeah, his entire characterization so far is basically "good at Kendo; is injured" but sheesh. Every single time he does anything he always seems worse off :/

Here's a great shot to change the theme here a bit.

Chitoge > ALL

Yes.

She doesn't even believe in Nakama.

Everyone is her bitch.

Planetes

All done. A fantastic series. I never believed that they can top the anime series but they actually did it and I was very surprised. I still have those supplements about space development to read but I will get to those later.

Anyway, I'm surprised by some of the changes made in the anime. For example, the anime focused mostly on their wacky adventures in the office which the manga completely disregarded. I liked the office people a lot in the anime and they were pretty funny, but I can understand why they were left out. In 4 volumes, it's pretty hard to develop them all these characters, but I really missed Claire. The other thing that kinda bothered me is Hakim's role. In the anime he played a bigger role and they showed how he relates to all the other characters. In the manga they kinda just went with him being a friend with Hoshino. Not a big deal but I preferred his portrayal in the anime.

Now what the manga did that was so much better was the focus on Fee and Hoshino. The last volume had more backstory on Fee, especially her childhood which was awesome. Plus seeing her struggle with authority was pretty great as well. Since Fee is still the best character in the manga, I enjoyed seeing her story expanded more than the anime. Also the manga seemed to focus more on Hoshino's demons and struggle with space travel. I liked that stuff a lot so I guess Hoshinp's manga version is much better than the anime one.

The ending is way better than the anime one. Hoshino's final statement and his daily adventures on the ship was great.

BLAME vol 2

I'm really having a hard time trying to understand what the hell is happening. I know the MC is looking for network genes or whatever, but I have no idea why or what the fuck does it even mean. I don't even know who he is fighting half of the times. He is just killing everyone he meets and the ones that he doesn't kill, get killed by some cyborgs or something.

I'm enjoying the fights and all, but I'm really lost.

Liar Game 142:

Pretty much what I thought was going to happen, although I'm disappointed that there wasn't some trick/something Nao was missing. Mainly because I don't like the idea of "trust" being the main issue Nao has to contend with.

I'm probably just burned out from all the "power of friendship" stories in the mainstream shounen mangas these days, but the idea of Nao winning over people with speeches doesn't sound entertaining. But I know that as long as Akiyama is around, along with the stronger "enemy" players, this scenario won't happen any time soon and clever game play will still be important.

Hajime No Ippo 959:

Typing the number 959 before making negative comments about this chapter just puts things in perspective. I can't seriously complain about nothing happening in a series that's gone on this long for that very reason.

Hi, maybe some of you are wondering what happened with chapter 109, well it was on a break, so it should have been this week. However, we decided that we could no longer do Good Ending. Why? Because our beloved translator Gachimaya decided to retire, so instead of replacing her, we decided to drop it. I will give you info on which group will pick it up, so keep your eyes open on these updates. Thank you for supporting us on Good Ending project, it’s been a long run.
