NHL December |OT| The Team You Cheer For is Not Good Compared To Our Team

Obviously they have a chance, but this teams confidence is too fragile, if it were any other team I would think they could get over it but they have a hard time forgetting the past. The season won't be over but the chances of them turning it around and finishing a good season will be reduced quite a bit. The only way they can turn it around is if the vets start to give a fuck, I'll eat my words if they do but none them not named cole look like they wanna play.

So what you're saying is, the Habs lack mental toughness.

...meanwhile in Canada...

Man, the Kings needed that win badly. The refs were awful tonight, but it was nice to finally have a terrible call in our favor. At this point, I'll take any win we can get.

Yea it's their biggest issue, cammys confidence is down and is on pace for the worst season of his career, subbans confidence is down and he's having a pretty bad second year and the teams scared play once down a goal or up a goal is indicative of their lack of winning spirit. If they can find that they have a chance.

Unfortunately, you can't really teach that. They have to figure it out on their own. I'd suggest watching a bunch of inspirational sports films!

And I thought Cam was going to have his best season ever. Isn't that what he himself said at the start of the year?

Yea he said he's in the best shape he's ever been, that's why Im not making an excuses for him, he's gettin paid $6 million to score goals and has less goals then fucking Travis moen. This is all on him now.

Ouch.

Habs are in the midst of hard times, man. Funny how the potential from two seasons ago has just been sucked out.

I love it. The season isn't even HALF over, and you're already calling it quits if the Habs don't win 3 of their next 5. Looking forward to a similar post in two months, when it might actually mean something!

Coming from the guy who called last week's Pitt-Sens game a must win..

The only good thing about the Sabres blowing right now is nobody else is really cruising along except Boston.

Cammy's biggest problem, and it has been since his first season in Montreal when he first got hurt, is that he plays scared. Its fucking infuriating to watch him refuse to go into corners and compete for the puck. And its only gotten worse over the past two seasons during which he, surprise, got hurt even more.

Its the old saying: you get hurt when you start playing scared. Cammy is living proof of that. Plays like a bitch to avoid getting hurt and gets hurt anyway. Pleks goes into the corners and fights all the battles and dude is never hurt. Every 5 or 6 games Cam will have a shift or two where he stops playing that way and he looks really effective and dangerous, but it never lasts and he goes back to playing it safe.

Solo you been drinking man? Get off the ledge.

Trade him. Although I doubt anyone wants his contract with his production right now.

Liles isn't doing too poorly

20 points in about 30 games? Granted, we need more goal scoring from the back end, but he's been our Kaberle thus far.

With the defensive liabilities :P

First the Habs blamed a lowly assistant coach and fired him. Then they can JM. The zamboni driver is shitting his pants while the cotton candy kid and the janitor are scared to take a coffee break.

You go PG!

Yeah, he's kind of unmovable right now. Besides, the guy does have some value when he does want to play. Its all mental with him. I dont know how you teach a guy to play like he used to and not think about the potential for getting hurt. But thats what he needs. Either that or we need to convince him that every game is a playoff game.

Habs fans from HF Boards after tonight's loss:

"I'm starting to research the top 10 for the upcoming draft."

"The players must really feel like pathetic losers right now. I don't think they have any confidence left in the tank."

"Any coach approached by PG for the job will need to seriously ponder the offer because he will be put in a situation of guaranteed failure."

"Typical 2011 Habs loss.
This team forgot how to win."

"While we thought that it couldn't get worst than Martin as far as line usage and lineup choices are concerned...

It got worse."

Kadri needs to be up. I mean both Rosehill and Orr in the lineup tonight? You're telling me Kadri couldnt have given you 12 good minutes as opposed to playing those 2 stiffs what 5 minutes each?

Kadri would have taken and scored a shootout chance too.

The Habs will probably end up battling Toronto and five other mediocre teams for the last one or two playoff spots. That's something to look forward to.

At least they got the best of Carolina in the Kaberle deal!

On the ferry. No Canucks game on the TV. What the fuck Government of British Columbia

Soc do you take the ferry a lot? You actually live in Victoria right? For fuck sakes man we *should* have met for a beer at Spinnakers man. It would have been a blast.

I'll meet up with you the moment I can read sentences like these and not immediately think they're a euphemism for something sinister or disgusting.
